Nice clean room. The standard of cleanliness was very good. The bed was comfortable. Good storage for clothes in the wardrobe and drawers in the room. Nice big TV. Excellent location in the centre of town. Shower itself was nice just no storage in the cubicle.

Not enough places for toiletries in the bathroom. Nowhere in the shower cubicle to put shower gel or shampoo. A shelf would be good. No breakfast but it wasn't a problem as there was a Costa Coffee opposite and lots of other eateries in the town.

When I got to the hotel I was met by a very friendly member of staff who booked me in early (as previously requested) which gave me plenty of time to shower and change for the event I was attending. The room was ideal for a single traveller and although there was a party in one of the downstairs function rooms when I got back from my event I did not hear any of it. The bed was also very comfortable and I was able to get to sleep quite quickly.

As for the parking, I was able to park when I first got to the hotel and whilst I was getting ready for my event and I recorded my registration on the hotel system for two days but when I got back there later all the spaces were taken and I could either park in the main car park at cost for two hours or in the High Street about a quarter of a mile away for free. I chose the latter and moved it later when the car park became free over night. I then had to move it in the morning of day two into the hotel car park as there were then spaces and the car park was to start charging at 0800 hrs. I was told that the parking is on a "First come, first service" basis.

Staff were extremely helpful throughout my stay. I Was running the mud race that day and needed to drop my bags off earlier. The cleaning department went out of their way to have my room ready. The downstairs bar is nice too! I always felt welcome and comfortable. I would stay again if I'm in the area for sure.

There is nothing I could find to fault them on. Lovely place to stay.

Great location and friendly staff. Our room was comfortable and quiet, especially as it was on a busy road through the town. The bathroom was of a decent size and had everything we needed, with very clean towels. All the other facilities were good too. Can recommend highly.

There is no breakfast offered, which is a shame, but Continental Cafe, a short walk away, proved an excellent choice for breakfast and has an extensive menu to suit all appetite and tastes.

Well equipped room, very comfortable bed, great location and friendly staff. Bar downstairs is really nice. Well stocked tea/coffee area

The bathroom (mostly the skirting boards) were very dusty, it made it feel a bit grubby when the sink/shower etc were fairly clean so let it down a bit. Shame they don’t do breakfast but we did discover Mrs Salisburys tearoom as a result which was lovely and would recommend

We have stayed in the Swan hotel and Grill before, and we have not been disappointed either time. We booked 2 rooms this time one for our daughter and both rooms were equally good. The beds are comfy, and the room was clean, and had plenty of room for two people to move around comfortably.

My only complaint would be the rooms were cold to start with, but they soon warmed up .

The staff are extremely friendly and give you a warm welcome when you arrive. The hotel is very cosy and full of charm and character. The food is delicious, presented beautifully and the portions are a good size. The waiting staff are friendly and attentive. The hotel rooms are very pleasant and the beds are comfortable.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Swan and was pleased with my choice again. Things I like include the location as it is right on Maldon High Street, carpark on site, lovely owners/staff and decent quality room and shower. The bar actually shuts at 7pm on a Sunday but as we were residents we were able to get a drink when we came back from meeting family for dinner and got recommendations for where to head to for a nightcap.

The mattress was a bit lumpy/soft for my liking but for one night that didn't matter too much.

Unfortunately the bar and restaurant are closed on Mon/Tues The last food order on the Sunday was 17:45 which was a shame as too early for us as the food looked amazing

The staff were helpful and friendly. The food in the bar was excellent .

Everything was there that you needed , but the room was in need of an update. There were no frills to the room , it almost felt a bit neglected.I have stayed in hotel rooms in Maldon for less money and with more facilities. It didn't feel valued for money .
