I didn't have breakfast. Probably my own fault but as the hotel backed on to the river I assumed somewhere outside would have river access to sit which it didn't. It did have seating at the front, but view was of industrial buildings. The staff were excellent, very helpful and my room although a little small was very comfortable and clean.

I stayed Tuesday and Wednesday, unfortunately the restaurant didn't open on Tuesdays and the bar closed at 9pm, however they did tell me the night person would have got a drink if I needed one later but not the same as sitting somewhere pleasant reading my book with a glass of wine. Its not a complaint really just it would have been nice......

I would like to send out a personal thank you to Claire who helped us with everything from check-in to check-out. We arrived quite early but she showed us around the hotel and looked after our luggage, and even took it up to our room for us whilst we were out. The room was of a good size and the decor was pretty. There were 2 electric fans which was much appreciated given the hot weather. We had a lovely stay! Would definitely stay there again next time we are in Maldon.

We don't have any specific negatives. The only unfortunate aspect, which obviously cannot be helped given the building structure, was that the window was very small, but we had the fans so it was fine!

I had stayed at Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel as a female travelling alone for a friends wedding for 1 night and couldn't have had a better experience. The hotel was perfect, ideal location, clean and boutique style rooms, free parking, and the breakfast was great and had alot of options! Worth every penny. What made it for me was the staff. From the night porter, to the receptionist and manager, everyone was incredibly kind to me and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome. Thank you to all staff there! If I were to visit Essex again I would make sure to stay here.

Wonderful staff, gorgeous breakfast, beautiful presentation of hotel. Loved the top up station for room drinks etc. gorgeous duvet and very comfortable bed. One of our rooms was upgraded so that we could be near each other as they noticed the rooms had the same surname. Thank you for your care.

The room was cold, but whilst the radiator didn’t work there was a warm air fan to use. There was no surface in the bathroom to put wash bags or any clothing. There was no full length hanging rail for skirts , coats or dresses.

A very very nice hotel looks good on the outside but when you go in it’s blows your mind away at the quality you’re getting for the price you pay. It was like walking in to a top London hotel it was stunning the staff were brilliant.we had breakfast it started with a warm welcome from the staff and a very nice breakfast to follow.check out was easy and quick with an email receipt been sent though straight away.A-big thank-you to all staff .

Staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. The building was lovely but being an old building it was a little noisy at night. Food was excellent as was the bar area. The room was warm and comfortable.

The room was quite small and noisy and there are not enough power sockets, we were on the second floor which was quite difficult to manage with the steep stairs, so I would not recommend it for anyone with mobility issues.

Upon entering the hotel and checking in, another customer came to reception and said how much they enjoyed their stay and said overall it was 10 out 10. Which was great to hear before i even paid for our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly. And helpful...i lost my ankle bracelet in the room somewhere and within the hour of leaving they found my bracelet and send they would kindly send it to me in the post. Me and my husband have said we would love to come again but have a meal as well.

From the exceptionally warm and friendly greeting on our arrival (you have a real star in Claire - she is fantastic 🤩) to all of the friendly, super efficient staff (must mention Amy too - another credit to you) Our room was beautiful and very comfortable (No.8) I booked the restaurant for a celebration meal in the evening and although the whole place was very busy, the quality of the food, service and attention to detail was perfect. Great atmosphere too!

the hotel had such a lovely feel about it - nothing was too much trouble for the staff

i think it was just an unlucky night to eat at the restaurant - it seem overly busy which caused a big delay in us recieving our food - we waited nearly 50 minutes for starters, an hour for mains - my lobster was overcooked (with parpadelle) and was very chewy. we ordered drinks and then had to chase the barman

Beautifully presented, excellent staff, well-judged food offerings, quality bathroom fittings and bedding, and wonderfully over-the-top non-tacky Christmas decorations!

The standard double room was too small for two people; the bed was up against the wall, there was only one chair and one bedside locker and light and the clothes hanging had no-where for a dress to hang. It was acceptable for one night but I will pick a classic room next time.
