Just got back from a stay at Hotel Caballo de Oro, and I have to say, it was a great experience. This is a proper Spanish hotel—nothing too flashy, but full of charm and character. The staff were absolutely lovely, always friendly and happy to help, which made a real difference. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and you could tell they really take pride in keeping the place well looked after. Beds were comfy, and everything was just as you’d hope for a relaxing stay.

Only a couple of tiny niggles—the WiFi was super fast once you were on, but getting logged in was a bit of a faff. Also, the window blind didn’t work, which was a bit annoying, but nothing that ruined the stay.

Clean room, Food

A very rude and obstructive receptionist who gave my wife a very hard time when booking in and initially refused to believe she was a paying guest despite us having informed Booking dot com of her credit card details and identification 3 days before she stayed. This was reported to management at the hotel at the time. My concern is that the hotel receptionist didn't seem to know that the reservation changes had been conveyed to the hotel. Why was this made so difficult for her??? Secondly, the shower tray was insufficient for the flow of water and flooded the floor outside the stall.

Hotel was spotlessly clean inside and out, staff were very helpful and lovely and friendly. Pool was amazing, deck chairs were always available, hotel guests were mostly of an older age and mostly Spanish so it was nice and quiet especially at night. TV's in room were mostly Spanish channels but I wouldn't let that knock how lovely it was here. Was ideally located, less than 10 minutes walk to the beach and main strip, very safe location, no issues whatsoever. Will definitely return again 🇮🇪👌🍀🇪🇸

The hotel staff were really friendly upon greeting and any questions and queries I had they were very helpful. The hotel location is good, with only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The rooms were clean with everything you need. Given the cost of the hotel stay with breakfast, it was perfectly fine. Yes, the rooms may be a little dated with a very much early 2000's decor, but honestly it was fine. If you manage your expectations, then this is a perfectly fine hotel. I had a comfortable stay, breakfast was very continental and there was a relatively large selection of food.

Have stayed here before so knew what to expect. Room is decent, breakfast included and was adequate, if not spectacular.

Wi-fi. It is hopeless. At best it can load a text-based web-page or some basic text messages - very s-l-o-w-l-y. Streaming anything like video, not a hope. It was the same last visit a year ago. Quite shocking really. If you read these messages Hotel Caballo de Oro, please join the 21st century in terms of telecommunications

The staff are friendly & it is nearby plenty of bars, clubs shops, etc! Stunning beach about 10 minutes away!

The pool wasn't open when I was there in May & some of the breakfast was cold.

The hotel is like an oasis amid the madness of Benidorm! It's within easy walking distance of the beach, shops and all the bars and clubs in the English quarter but it's beautifully quiet, set in its own tranquil gardens with a gorgeous pool. I loved the aqua dance class and I also enjoyed being one of the very few Britis there. The vast majority of guests were Spanish.

I can't think of anything I didn't like

The shower is lovely, nice pool, quite hotel so able to get a sun lounger. Recommend the cocktails. It's an okay hotel if your staying for a few days but I wouldn't stay longer

Breakfast was awful dry or cold keeping food topped up then staff getting frustrated when you ask for something because it's run out, croissants looked like someone had sat on them, to many dirty tables couldn't sit at a clean one. Hotel needs updating definitely

Loved the location it's in walking distance to bars , restaurants, beach, shops. The hotel is clean , love the terrace, the coach stops up the road the one u get from the airport.. stayed there twice, will stay there again , highly recommended. X. Great value for money.

Good bed and pillow, everything you need in a bathroom, mid sized TV and a mini fridge.

The breakfast buffet was lacking. Eggs where gone all the time and from the middle of the breakfast they didn't serve bacon anymore. The cold meats where not to my taste. I guess if you like cereals you'd be fine.
