Lovely old style NZ property with wonderful gardens. The hosts Judith & Wayne were very welcoming and helpful, with advice about routes and places to eat in town etc. The rooms was nicely furnished and had everything we needed for our one night stay. A little bit out of Stratford, so we drove to one of the restaurants that our hosts recommended. The food was delicious. The room was part of the house, but felt separate and private. We had access from the room to a porch area, where there was a number of seating options to read a book, admire the gardens or just chill. On the morning of our departure Judith cooked us a lovely cooked breakfast of which there are a number of options. There was wonderful fresh fruit; yogurt, Manuka honey, tea coffee and fresh fruit juice. Very tasty. Judith was the perfect host and we had a lovely chat about the places we had visited and her guests from all over the world.

Regan house is unique with beautiful, private flower gardens just outside the guest room door. The room is very comfortable, nice bed and functional bathroom. The room and house are furnished and decorated with detail and care. Above all we enjoyed the talks with the hosts, Judith and Wayne, during the top notch breakfast every morning. From the house there is easy access to things to do in Taranaki, up the mountain when it is clear, visits to regional gardens, things to see in New Plymouth. Best wishes to our hosts.

An extraordinary host, who really made us feel welcome. Spacious and clean room, direct access to garden and being the only guest (as there is only a single room to rent) made it an excellent stay. Not to mention the tasty breakfast. Can only recommend this B&B!

Nothing really; the house is close to a major road out of Stratford, so you will notice the cars driving by; but the many trees and bushes in the lovely garden do their best to absord the noise ;-)

Breakfast cooked by Judith was one of the best we have had, we have travelled extensively. The room was lovely, with an ensuite which was a little small given the size of the bedroom. The outside space was a delight and if you are a keen gardener you would have looked at all of the different parts of it.

The bathroom could have been a little bigger though all parts worked fine. There was a little noise from the Forgotten Highway outside but not during the night.

I had a perfect stay at Regan House. It was a chilly evening, but the room had adequate heating and the bed was very cosy with an electric blanket. Loved snuggling up with a hot drink from the well-stocked kitchen cupboard! The room itself was very clean and had everything I needed. The house was nice and quiet and I enjoyed getting to know Judith and Wayne the next morning while I was treated to an amazing breakfast cooked just for me (get the french toast)! I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Judith and Wayne were amazing hosts. Judith met us when we arrived and was extremely hospitable and friendly. The room was beautiful, had everything we needed and we were able to relax in the beautiful garden. The bed was very comfortable and we felt very relaxed and at home. The breakfast was great and set us up well for a busy day travelling! Thank you again both!

Regan house far exceeded our expectations. Judith and Wayne were so hospitable. We greatly enjoyed having a chance to talk with them during breakfast, which was outstanding. The bedroom is beautifully decorated, comfortable bed, private bathroom. The bedroom opens into an extensive flower garden, which has places to sit and enjoy the garden and the birds. The hosts gave us helpful information on the area. Overall it's one of the best BnB's we've ever stayed in and we hope to return.

I loved everything about this house. It is a traditional villa home very much like my own, so it was like being at home - except better because I didn't have to make breakfast. Which was superb by the way - Eggs Benedict with bacon and tomato, toast, fruit, coffee, juice. Hot, delicious and plentiful. A great way to start the day. The room itself is beautiful, very spacious and warm with beautiful views of the gardens. The bed is extremely comfortable with extra blankets if needed. The house is very cozy with a lovely wood burner to sit by in the lounge. The hosts Judith and Wayne were very welcoming. We had some lovely chats by the fire and Judith gave me lots of great information about Stratford and the surrounding areas.

I can't fault this accommodation in any way. I had a wonderful stay and would stay here again without question.

We stayed here for one night during our visit to Mount Taranaki. The property is managed by a wonderful lady named Judith, who is incredibly friendly and knows how to make guests feel right at home. She prepared the best breakfast we’ve ever had in New Zealand! If you’re staying here, don’t miss the opportunity to try her amazing breakfast.

A gorgeous, comfortable, colonial style property with a beautiful garden. The hosts, Judith and Wayne, couldn't have been more welcoming and pleasant. Advice and tips on where to eat and the best route to the viewing platform on Mt Taraniki and its flying fox bridge over the gorge made our one night stay a great success.
