The staff were friendly, helpful and offered to help carry our bags. The room was clean, tidy and quiet. Great water pressure in the shower and light-blocking curtains. The motel is based close to town.

The electric blankets were kept at reception, so we had to install one ourselves. It stated "chocolate for guests" on Booking.com but there wasn't any.

We really appreciated being able to check in an hour early even tho nothing was arranged for that to happen, the staff was really friendly and kind, the water pressure on the shower was perfect! We had everything we needed! The place was clean and well stocked on things we may have needed.

The bed was a bit too hard for my husband, although it was fine for me! And I prefer a more squishy bed! Go figure! We went to buy a mattress topper and that sorted him out. We also went and bought a couple knives and bowls as the two knives available were VERY blunt. The bowls were just very shallow, having anything runny would have been impossible. The room also created a lot of condensation over night but opening the door and windows in the morning is a really quick and easy fix. These seem like silly things to complain about, so I'd say we don't really have any complaints! We really enjoyed our stay.

The staff were incredible, Mi-Oh was so friendly and sweet and the service was truly top-notch. The location was so handy as well. The trampoline was fun but was breaking in some rings so best to keep it for kids. Beds were quite comfortable and the hot water shower had excellent pressure. The value was incredible for the price and the beds available. Also there was a lushly stocked wooden box of teas, coffees, chocolate chip cookies, and hot chocolate mixes in the kitchen and that was such a luxe touch. The brands appeared premium and did not look cheap at all. The towels were also very fluffy and felt luxurious.

The carpet needs changing, and it might be a good idea to replace carpet with vinyl or wood flooring because it was very dingy. The sofa was very saggy. The water pressure in the shower was great but the temperature had to be adjusted by literal millimetres because it was exceptionally sensitive and went from freeze to burn in one tiny shift.

This motel was a real treasure of a find. The location was ideal. We were warmly welcomed at reception, room was ready. Room was large with large queen plus a single bed. Great kitchen setup. Water pressure amazing especially in the shower. Room very clean, tidy and well appointed. We had awesome view of the mountain and from the balcony door the sea. Best value for money motel I have stayed at for some time in NZ. Very much recommended!!

To be honest nothing I didn't really like, if I had to say something, maybe the plug in smelly thing was a little over powering but honestly just unplugged it and then no problem.

This is one of the cleanest accommodations I have stayed in while in New Zealand. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised to have a one-bedroom apartment with a king bed, a queen bed, and a single bed in the room, along with a fully equipped kitchen, a separate washroom, a separate toilet, and a separate shower room. The location, just behind the Festival of Lights, is excellent. The facilities, especially the cooking amenities, and the quality of service make this an outstanding choice. The owner is incredibly friendly, and I would highly recommend this place to everyone. I will definitely return in the future. Only If the floor in the washroom can be renovated in the future, that would be great

Value for money this was a truly exceptional option. Having two distinct sleeping areas as well as enough space for hanging out and watching TV. For a couple of friends who are past the point of wanting to share a room, this was a great option a and extremely well priced. The beds were very comfortable and provided a great night's sleep- so nice to be able to warm up with electric blankets.

Nothing - it was all great. Booking at this price, don't expect the Shangri-la - but it was very clean and tidy and well equipped.

Shout out to the Japanese lady at the front desk. She was so friendly and helpful. We had a late check in and after we called she made sure we were set up, gave us good info of New Plymouth, and helped us with drying our laundry. when we left she saw us out. Great hospitality! She was the highlight of our stay. The room was spacious and had all the basics for a comfortable night's rest. The price is very reasonable.

Maybe we got used to receiving some milk with our reservation, but it's not included. The establishment is a bit dated, but perhaps that's why it's so affordable. The walls are a bit thin and you can hear your neighbors talking. However, none of these were big deals.

A very nice and comfortable motel with a drive to the city centre that only takes under 5 minutes. The room was warm, clean, and smelt really nice upon arrival. The shower with good water pressure and a very comfortable bed was an added bonus! But the star of the show was Amanda, who I dealt with in regards to my booking. She was fantastic, very friendly, and just provided exceptional customer service overall. I will happily stay here again in the future.

The location was great for us. 1 double bed, 1 single and 1 queen, perfect for a family of 5. It was lovely and quiet. The kitchen had everything you needed and plenty of cutlery, plates, and cups. We were able to check in early with no extra charge.

Most of the cutlery, cups, plates, and bowls were dirty. They had left over food on plates and Cutlery. Coffee/tea marks inside and out, even lipstick marks. The shower and toilet room were outdated.

What great, friendly staff! They were able to easily accommodate our slightly earlier check-in and were so friendly. Our room was large and comfy with great beds and electric blankets. The TV was great and the location is hard to beat - so easy to find.

We wish that real milk was provided, rather than just the packet creamer mixes. The stairs up to our room were quite steep and tricky but we can avoid that next time by booking a room on the ground floor. It would be nice to have a more centralized heating system or at least a separate heater for the extra bedroom.
