My family and I have always stayed here whenever we travel to New Plymouth and we always love the service and facilities. Always outstanding. This time however, I was really shocked and disappointed that the breakfast menu doesn't include hot food, only continental buffet of cereals, fruit, toast and juices. They don't even offer porridge which I always had. Sadly missed the chef who always filled my orders.

Not a full breakfast available. Had to go elsewhere to find a restaurant for a hot breakfast before we took the 4hour drive to Auckland. No air conditioning in the bathroom

The suite was well presented, consisting of a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. we were provided 4 super comfortable beds, 1 king and 3 singles which was perfect for our 5-person family. Auto lodge staff were very accommodating considering the last-minute nature of our booking (unexpected) it was handy to all amenities which was great, as it was our first time in New Plymouth.

We did not the skirting in the shower was a bit dirty (looked like mold, couldn't be sure) as well as behind the little rubbish bin. but nothing major everything else was very clean and tidy.

The rooms were decent sizes, there was a pool onsite which wasn't huge but was covered meaning could be used in any weather. Our rooms weren't quite ready when we arrived, and as compensation a drink was offered at the bar which was most appreciated on a hot afternoon - the pool table was available for $2 which appealed to our group while we enjoyed our drink waiting for our rooms. Additional towels were available at reception for the pool which was most appreciated as some of our group hadn't packed towels. Very fair for the price paid.

As mentioned above, our rooms weren't quite ready despite us arriving half an hour later than expected. Wasn't a big deal, and we were fairly compensated for the inconvenience.

Anything that was wrong was fixed immediately. It was quiet other than the builders. We could walk to the beach and to town.

It was getting a bit tired but that was reflected in the price. No soap dish in bathroom meant residue on vanity top. The toilet ran constantly and the bowl was stained from the continual flow. Hate to pay the water bill! I would have liked a clock as I had no idea of time. The ventilation system for the shower was inadequate so everything steamed up. One chair had a broken leg. Very obvious when we entered the room. I would have thought a cleaner would have noticed that during carpet vacuum. We had to report it and then hope we wouldn’t be held accountable.

It is wonderful being able to travel with our little dog and the hotel is located very close to the walkway along the seafront, which is fantastic. The staff were particularly polite and helpful.

The rooms looked a bit sterile. If they put up a couple of paintings of Mt Taranaki and local artists work this would really make the rooms look so much better and also be a great way to promote the region and the local artists. The shower area is looking tired and could do with a bit of paintwork, although the shower itself is really great - strong pressure and hot water. The net curtains had come off the rails over the sliding door, and need rehanging.

Very quiet room on the seaside of the complex - in fact we could hear the sea so quiet were the nights. Lovely. We stayed to attend meetings and a dinner and having everything onsite was fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nearby access to the coastal walkway, just a short stroll away.

I understand it's likely for safety reasons but the porch light being on all night outside our room made the room very light. Yes, we had the blind closed on the small kitchen window but the room was much lighter than we're used to. The bathroom was tired and the tiled ledges on the outside of the bath looked like they needed a good scrub.

Lovely room very comfy, good size for a family of 3 plus a dog, nice having a balcony, very nice that they occupy our dog not many places will, breakfast in restaurant was lovely aswell

Spa wasn't open at 7.30am which was what it said on the information sheet, had to wait for pool guy to finish what he was doing so didn't get in till around after 8.20, furniture in room wasn't laid out in a good way we rearranged the furniture to fit us in, tv in bedroom is set in a bad position on wall wasn't very thought out when making recess in wall should have hung on a bracket in centre of wall

Handy to the main part of town. The room was clean and bed nice and firm. Plenty of parking. Although I didn't use the swimming pool or spa it is a nice amenity that I may use next time.

Restaurant was great but very quiet, so was surprised that the service by waiting staff was so slow. The table next to me and mt own table had to ask the waiting staff firstly for the drink's menu, then when the order was taken had to ask again for the drink 10 to 15 minutes later, even though the waiting staff had only two more small groups come in. This may be why the restaurant wasn't busy!!!!!

As advertised and met my high expectations. My kitchen suite was mostly well set for in unit meal prep but the full sized oven is not supported with adequate in oven cooking containers. I think that if U ask that the office can supply a frypan. The low placement of the small microwave also was annoying. Front road rooms will have traffic noise. The 2nd story rooms will need the use of stairs. A big establishment. Would recommend.

As above. I had tradies staying next to me one night who smoked at their doorway next to my open door until I voiced my displeasure. Like most of these workers they were up too early the next morning for a noisy door banging departure.

I liked everything to be honest, especially the team that works there, everyone is very friendly and accommodating. -Very good location. -Plenty of space to park easily. - Excellent restaurants. I had Rib Eye at one of the dinners and it was divine, totally worth it. - It wasn't noisy, I get really annoyed by noisy places and even that I liked, at least during my stay 😁 It will definitely be my choice when I come around.

I just wish I had stayed in a room with a kitchen. 🤭
