+ Lovely wooden interior, AC, full kitchen, very clean, nice and spacious, had everything we needed including nice touches like facial tissues, separated shampoo/conditioner, and separate covered rubbish/recycling bins. + Really good information on how to get in (as there’s no right turn in from the main road - but it’s easy enough to navigate the one way streets of New Plymouth). + Unfortunately we had bad weather so didn’t walk to town or try out the bikes, but this location would’ve been perfect. + The friendliest cleaner!!!

Nothing, just 2 heads ups - The yellow hue lighting is a bit dim for reading at night, especially on the couch - Lockwood Manor didn’t show up when filtering search by “private bathroom” on Booking.com, but it’s definitely got private bathroom!

Very clean and comfortable except for the sofa which was very uncomfortable and we did not use it!Perhaps two small arm chairs would be suitable? Would have preferred that instead of an extra single bed. The main king bed was exceptionally comfortable! We have stayed at Lockwood Manor at least three times over the years and always find it clean and welcoming. Will stay again if in New Plymouth.

As already stated, the very uncomfortable sofa.

I had booked a family studio for a 3D2N stay in the motel. The front staff provided a very welcome customer service. The room is neat and clean. All kitchen utensils are well-cleaned without any stains on it. The bed is comfortable and the white linens are clean as well. The bathroom is clean and well-maintained. The wifi access is running well and there is no problem accessing Netflix and YouTube apps on the smart TV.

The single bed could be placed next to the double bed to avoid the noise when the next room opens the sliding door.

Beautiful room. Parking right in front of room. Easy access to motel from the road but quiet in room. Hostess Kelliann was delightful. So kind and friendly. Allowed me to use the motel laundry room late in the evening (also kept hotel guest in room next to the guest laundry room from being bothered by noise of machines).

I was confused by the outlet next to the sink that said for razor only. Decided not to use the hair dryer there and then had to dry hair without a mirror: (the outlets closest to other mirrors weren't close enough.) It wasn't really a problem but was the only inconvenience of the room. Maybe just clarify the note in bathroom if outlet can be used for hair dryer or not?

Clean, comfortable room in a good location close to the city centre. We always say to ourselves, would we stay here again and yes, we would stay in this motel again.

Bit disappointed that we couldn't check in at the time we said we'd arrive. After a 4 hour drive it would have been nice to be able to use the toilet and freshen up before meeting someone in town. There was a phone number on the office door, but my mobile wouldn't work for some reason. Anyway, still a good motel.

Our room has easy access to the parking area. The room is clean, and the location is close to key attractions, such as parks, restaurants, and shopping malls.

The walls make slight noises at night and are not very soundproof, as we can hear noises from the other room, such as the sound of a door opening (mistaking it for the sliding door of the toilet in our room).

Very noisy people in next apartment. Another group entertained friends till 3.30am... We didn't get very good sleep at all. Management must look at their noise policy. We own a business like this too and this is an important factor, as travellers stay over to rest at night. Facilities were excellent and everything else without fault.

Spacious and clean, our motel unit was exactly what we needed. Bed and pillows comfortable, a good shower and excellent self catering facilities made this for us an ideal stay. Walking distance to shops and restaurants, this is a great location. Will definitely stay again.

Our unit was close to a busy road, however the noise was not excessive.

A spacious room with high ceiling, underfloor heating, large fluffy towels, decent toilet paper, comfortable bed, and well equipped kitchen. The owner is lovely & welcoming, and despite being on a main road the room was quiet.

A little tricky to get to the first time, but once you realise you can enter from the side street it’s easy from either direction.

Manager was helpful with our stay and was very accommodating with our specific needs. Linen was plentiful, cooking facilities above our expectation. all staff were very helpful

there was nothing that could have been done better. exceeded our expectations. access to room easy as car parking was within easy walk distance. all necessities were available
