The location was ideal: close to town with convenient access to transportation. Parking was a breeze, with ample space and easy manoeuvrability. The rooms and kitchen facilities were clean and well-equipped, providing all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The two bedrooms provided ample drawer and wardrobe space with enough hangers, making them perfect for an extended stay. The beds were comfy, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The hosts were exceptional, meeting our every need. They transformed an unfortunate booking issue we had with another place into a positive and memorable experience, extending our stay from 3 to 9 nights. They frequently checked in to ensure our satisfaction, showing genuine care and concern for their guests. Their kindness and attentiveness made us feel truly welcome. Overall, they were outstanding hosts, and we sincerely appreciated everything they did to make our stay memorable on such a significant occasion for us.

I could not find many faults with this place, except that the traffic noise can sometimes be noticeable, though not loud enough to disturb your sleep. One minor inconvenience is the slightly elevated entrance at the doorway, which may take some getting used to. However, once you become accustomed to it, as we did after the first night, it becomes much less of an issue.

Breakfast not required! Friendly helpful host, lovely staff, a relaxing Holiday venue, very close to the coastal walkway, also New Plymouth City and not too far from Pukekura Park. For a person with a disability, our Motel Unit was ideally situated on the ground floor and our car park close by! 😄 Host supplied a shower chair and non slip shower mat! Comfy chairs to ‘lounge in’ and watch TV. It was also very quiet, no outside noise disturbances. Excellent!

We needed a few extra utensils in the kitchen, eg Food Tongs and scissors, a dish drainer for washed dishes. Very minor issues!!

We were so happy with the Dawson Motel. I made a mistake and booked the wrong dates, and on realising the mistake the day of the booking Grant was incredibly kind and helpful and changed the booking for us. On arrival we were given a really helpful run down of the area. Wonderful service and a great room, very clean and modern. The location is great too, easy to walk to the main part of town and several attractions like the gallery and museum. We would definitely stay here again.

Nothing to dislike.

As soon as we drove in the whole booking in experience was awesome...super friendly and helpful plus the host was a Kiwi so made it much more easier...unlike alot of motels nowadays. Every time we saw him during our stay he acknowledged us as guests....but wasn't pushy....totally recommend

Not a negative on the room as it was very clean and comfortable...but if you live in the country like we do it takes a few nights to get used to the traffic noise

The window in the kitchen only had a venetian blind on it, would have been great to have a block out blind over the top. I am very sensitive to light and found it hard to sleep with the light coming through. Also no fault of the motel but the road noise at early in the night was very loud etc

The room was very, very clean, and spacious. Parking is great and the location is a short walk from the waterfront and the centre of town. I highly recommend it.

The only downside to this accommodation is the noise of the traffic at night is noticeably loud, even through the double glazed windows.

Very central location to the boardwalk, cultural sites, central shopping area and dining facilities. Everything was extremely clean, bed very comfortable and excellent shower. Host and staff were helpful and friendly.

The location was great, just a short walk to the Coastal walkway and into the centre of town. The rooms were a very generous size, really clean and modern, nicely designed for space; lovely quiet air conditioning, and good quality tea and coffee available. Would definitely stay again.

During his stay at the motel while working in the area, our data technician reported numerous positives: ample parking, proximity to the city, a strong sense of safety and security, excellent TV service, a comfortable bed, and accommodating late check-out due to his late work hours; he expressed a definite intention to stay there again.

Great location, easy access to the city. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, well-equipped and very clean. Shower was fantasticly powerful, a great way to start the day! EV charger on site was very convenient. Ticked all the boxes, will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
