Lovely friendly host. Really great bedroom, large and comfortable bed, clean and well stocked ensuite bathroom. The massive kichen/dining room/lounge area is shared by the two private ensuite rooms, but there is plenty of space to go around. Lots of choice for breakfast, different cereals, toast, juice, milk, tea, coffee, etc, all well stocked. Brilliant location, very quiet but has a sea view. Turn right out of the property, walk over the foot bridge crossing the rail line, turn left down the slope. Keep going and within five minutes you are at the sea front.

the breakfast was great, exceeded our expectations. Location was great, home away from home atmosphere. The front door locking system was excellent.

The communication was very poor to start with, were not able to get hold of the owner nor did he answer our txts. I had to communicate with Booking.com to get any response, So that was very frustrating and annoying. After that the communication was good. The leather couch has seen better days and the TV in lounge was so small could hardly read the words eg score of Australia open tennis was on at that time. TV in bedroom needed to be Sky also.

We got a good information text prior to arriving with door codes etc. It was exceptionally clean and well stocked - the kitchen had good utensils, pots and pans and the bathroom had lovely shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Items for a more luxurious feel. There was a communal TV as well as one in the bedroom. It was really useful having breakfast provided and the selection was excellent. I haven't rated the people as we didn't meet anyone. That said, whilst it felt a little impersonal, the text received was pleasant and instruction as to access to and from the property were exactly as described.

If we were being picky (and it is just that), the bed was a little hard and the bottom sheet to lie on would have been softer if it was a cotton one rather than what looked to be a linen one.

Perfect location, David and Nada were wonderful host. The breakfast choices were amazing.

We stayed for four nights and we didn’t realise because we hadn’t read the description correctly, that we shared with other people. First night we shared with a couple who were all good, then we had two nights to ourselves, but the last night we had a really rude lady who made us very uncomfortable so we ended up just going out and then staying in our room.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Very comfortable and spacious, and having a lounge/dining area and full kitchen facilities was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options stocked in the pantry and fridge. The location was perfect, a short stroll to the coastal walkway and beach, and easy scenic walk into town or bike ride in either direction. If we needed anything Nada and Dave were happy to help, friendly and wonderful hosts.

Very busy street so pleased I had booked a parking place. Place was like a Granny flat with two bedrooms, each with ensuite, underneath the main house. It was very quiet and private. As we had a very wet day we appreciated the umbrella that was there for use. The full kitchen made cooking very easy. The pantry/fridge had a good selection of breakfast foods. It was an easy walk to get to the beach/coastal walkway and also only a short drive into the heart of town. The lounge was really comfortable. In all it was like being in a home away from home.

I do have a back issue so while my husband found the bed fine, it was a bit on the hard side for me. That is pretty standard around New Zealand though so probably not a problem for most people.

Top quality accommodation and lovely hosts. Very spacious rooms throughout, great kitchen, lovely open plan lounge/dining area that opened up to a private backyard with views to the sea. Beautiful bedroom with it's own large modern ensuite. Fantastic location, less than 5 mins drive from the central city but only a 3 min walk to the coastal walkway. Absolutely brilliant value for money, will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful spot with a view of the sea and a great location for cafes, coastal walkway and the sights. Everything we needed was provided and David was super helpful sorting bikes for us. Very comfortable accommodation with great quality bedding, towels, amenities. Kitchen well stocked for cooking and breakfast. We had both rooms so I’ve to have the place to ourselves but plenty of setting and provisions for more as well as shared tv, there are tvs and ensuites in both rooms.

We were surprised to find that we were sharing the kitchen/lounge with another couple who had their own bedroom and En Suite. But this was not a problem , in practice, as there is plenty of space and they were very nice. This arrangement was explained in the Pre-Booking Info, but we hadn't picked up on it.

The spec is so high end. Beautiful unit with a stunning view. Electric blankets kept us warm on chilly nights. Huge range of breakfast options. Excellent value for what you get.

Despite saying they endeavour to not book strangers into the two rooms, both nights we stayed had others in the other room. It's not a huge deal but, because it is essentially a 2 bedroom unit with communal kitchen and lounge, it does mean you have to get dressed in order to make a cup of tea. Both sets of people were fine but, if it was someone you didn't want to share with, you'd be in trouble. There are locks on the doors so it is safe - just could be unpleasant.
