Location is great as it is very central, a few minutes walk away from the mall, cafes, and restaurants. The presentation and cleanliness of the room was superb, the bed was comfortable and the facilities worked as expected. The Grazie restaurant is connected to the hotel so no need to walk or travel far for your dinner and breakfast reservations. They also have a decent amount of secured car parking which can be attained from the reception when checking-in.
The continental breakfast was a bit underwhelming. The food warmers were turned off - which made some breakfast items stale as it was getting cold. In other continental breakfasts, they would have more variety of eggs but we only saw hard boiled here. The drip coffee was also not hot and fresh in which we saw other patrons order freshly made coffee which was an additional charge. And a personal opinion, do not use canned mangoes. Pears, peaches and apricots are tolerable, but those mangoes did not taste fresh at all. For the price we paid for the breakfast, we can only justify the distance travelled from our room. But for that experience, we may have looked for a better deal elsewhere.

One young staff member made an impression. She was very friendly and helpful.
One male staff member seemed difficult. Being organised I just wanted to purchase the washer and dryer coins so I could go straight to the laundry in the morning, instead of having to go all the way down to reception first. His reason was that it was now closed (this was late evening when I approached reception) when I said for the morning, he said they have no coins. He could've been correct, though if the laundry was locked, wouldn't the person already cleared out the coins? It didn't help I guess that the guy looked smug about it.🤷♀️

Beautifully appointed clean quiet room, comfortable bed with plump large pillows, great shower and friendly professional staff. The hotel smelt beautiful and fresh throughout and the free juice in the foyer was a lovely touch. The restaurant/bar was super handy and relaxing for a drink and the staff were very attentive. I would love to stay at the Sebel again and would absolutely recommend it to others. Very handy to the Lower Hutt Events Centre as well as the mall and art gallery which is why I chose it.
My only suggestion is that it would have been nice to have more milk in the fridge for coffee so that I could make full use of the coffee machine.

Quite a new hotel. Staff were fantastic, pre-warmed the room as I requested; excellent shower; didn't dine there but the restaurant has an interesting feature...transparent privacy pods; close to various eateries and the river if you ever feel like a stroll; 10 min walk to Queensgate; clean room with a coffee machine. A lot to like about this place. First time visitor to The Sebel, but I will definitely be staying there again.
Only a very small detail and very missable for the staff. Was a small stain on the bedding, likely just a coffee spill. Not really a complaint or a dislike...just something that was noticed and it's not going to deter me from staying there again.

I had the superior king room. The room was clean. Nice view of the hutt river. I absolutely loved the bed. It was supper comfortable and had a wonderful restful sleep. Bathroom amenities were excellent for my needs. The hot beverages available were great. I had the hot chocolate. Very easy check in and check out. Comfortable stay. Will stay here again.
I did hear some noises from the other floors. Minor though. I didn't see any menu for room service. Could ha e been on the t.v. but didn't look properly. Will do next time. The wifi did cut out a few times during tasks bit came back on not long after.

Absolutely loved the location! Pretty sure its the only 4+ Star hotel in the Hutt Valley area, so that was a bonus too. The staff at reception advised that the hotel was fully booked on the night of our stay, but we couldn't tell, as either the rooms were completely sound-proof, or the people in the rooms next door were super quiet. I truly appreciated the aircon, as Wellington had a rare hot day. And loved that I could cast onto the large TV and watch all the shows I usually cant watch with our little kid in tow. Also got to listen to my own Spotify music while taking an extra long shower, and all the toiletries smelt amazing!!
There was a scented spray used throughout the entire hotel, which was incredibly strong! I prefer a light fragrance, but the reception area and the hotel room were overpowered by this scent. When I got home and opened my bag of clothes, it smelt like I was back in the hotel room. The continental breakfast was also average. I wish I hadn't paid for breakfast, and had gone to the Riverbank market instead, which was only across the road.

The rooms are exceptional. The reception staff always smile and are welcoming. This is my second time staying this time my partner came with me. The services were on point.
The cleanliness of the room. I should have notified reception earlier that was my mistake. When you clean a room it means having enough towels for two. It also means that if I jave requested for my room to be made up it doesn't mean jist making the bed it means replacing everything, including vacuuming. As a cleaner from a motel and with the Sebel being the class it is i would've expected the clesning to be on point. There is no room for laziness. I was taught that no matter if a guest is staying for 2. 3, or 4 days ypu treat the room as if its their first day everyday. replace everything and vacuum the room including the bathroom. There's room for improvement where the cleaners are concerned.

The motel was close to everything. Ut was beautiful. Reception staff were great service was on point and efficient. The room was immaculate. The bed was comfortable i slept like a puppy. Usually I would stay in the city itself. But I'm so happy I chose Herr. It was beautifully quite and my view was awesome. Thank you to the cleaners for cleaning my room.
The strong smell of urine when I would pop down for a vape at night time on Botanical garden side. Also would be great to update on booking.com that your rooms are non smoking as you have options of smoking and non smoking rooms. But there's a no smoking policy. Will stop the confusion as I had marked a smokers room was given a non smoker.

From customer service, cleanliness, and beautifully presented rooms it is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Nice and quiet with views out to the city and over the river. Also, with a restaurant "Grazie" with gluten-free options and room delivery. It was very central to places we were visiting. Definitely recommend.
I think parking when staying there would be a nice gesture to be free. Also, having to put code in to hop in and out of car (exposed to the elements), you should be able to reach from vehicle.

The location overlooking the Hutt River and proximity to the event centre. Room was well equipped.
The restaurant was extremely poor. Dinner a Caesar salad was marginal and not a traditional Caesar salad and missing ingredients noted on the menu. A little of uncut lettuce smeared with mayonnaise and some uncut chicken on the side of the plate. The breakfast was very poor and not worthy of bothering with under any conditions . Coffee was 1970 cona style coffee left brewing and no option for even purchasing a decent coffee. No plain yoghurt, 4 apples consisted of the fresh fruit item. Cereals were not worth noting . Poor everything selection and had the feeling it was rehashed each day. The most disappointing breakfast and dinner from a hotel chain I have ever experienced in any country round the world.
