Rose in Vale is exactly as described - a country house hotel, so we weren't expecting spa's and saunas etc. although there is a delightful pool in the garden which is very relaxing and tranquil. Our room was very clean and comfortable with exceptionally good beds. Being in a shaded vale (hence the name) it was a little dark so we needed the lights on to read. There is some lovely, if unusual artwork dotted throughout the place and all the little 'snugs' and lounges were filled with comfy leather sofas so it would be lovely in front of the fire on a winter's evening. The grounds are superb and very well kept without being formal. Everywhere, both inside and out, had an 'easy' feeling about it. The staff, especially Clare and Sophie, were really friendly and helpful and we would not hesitate to recommend RiV for a child-free couples break at any time of the year.

Can't see the need for background music (but that's just a personal choice)

The Hotel was lovely, and very clean. We were especially happy with a spotless bathroom and starched linens, the bed was very comfortable, we were able to totally darken the room at night. It was wonderful. The staff is very accommodating, for example they opened the bar for us after 9pm. Breakfasts were very tasty. The village of St. Agnes is lovely and has beach access. From here we also toured to Lands End and Minack Theatre, it was fine. We wished we had spent three nights instead of two. A very nice hotel which we highly recommend.

Beautiful location and grounds

No refrigerator in room and only milk available was skimmed milk- and only option for a coffee with full cream Milk in the morning was to either pay 20 pounds for a full breakfast eventhough i only wanted coffee or drive 6 miles into town for a morning coffee. They wouldnt just charge me for a coffee, which is not a customer focussed policy.

The staff were very attentive and accommodating for all your needs. Any problems were sorted as soon as possible. The hotel set in a hidden location, with peaceful surroundings, was clean, tidy and the pool was an added bonus on such a hot week.

Initially thought we had booked a double bed but was two singles pushed together. The hotel worked with us and sorted that out,quickly and in a timely manner.

everything. it was quiet, personal and the staff very accommodating as well as highly professional. The atmosphere was very relaxed and felt like a home away from home. Easy to get to but away from the crazy busy places. breakfast was outstanding and apologies I did not eat dinner during my stay but was told it was delicious by fellow guests. it has the charm of a country home but the finesse of a high end hotel. I will definitely return again on my next UK visit. A charming piece of the country with the comforts of home.

A hidden gem set in beautiful grounds. It is so peaceful, tranquil, and the ideal location to escape from the stress of life. The rooms were spotlessly clean , traditionally furnished, and very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. My Coeliac gluten free diet was well catered for, which was most appreciated..

Rose in Vale was spotlessly clean and very quiet. Lovely cooked breakfast. We were mostly impressed by Francesca, who was so welcoming at Reception, she was helpful with our heavy cases, informative about the local area, and went out of her way to provide absolutely excellent customer service. She also served us at breakfast, appeared as the fire monitor when the fire alarm went off, and dealt with our departure, all with a huge smile. Thank you Francesca!

Stayed 2 nights. No tissues provided in rooms and only 1 spare loo roll (more had to be requested). No hair conditioner provided. TV position in room made it a bit uncomfortable to watch. At breakfast tea or filter coffee included but a 'speciality coffee' cappuccino or Americano charged at £4.50. No food allowed by the pool. Seemed a little strict!

Going home.

Probably my mistake whilst booking my room, I didn’t get free breakfast. So was charged £20 per breakfast! Which I thought was a little steep for a cooked breakfast and a pot of tea.
