The bed was quite comfortable and bigger than expected at first. The inn was also situated in a good area which made it easy to explore more around Truro and visit shops and places to get food from. Plus being able to stay out for a long time and getting back before 10 pm worked out well for me.

The bathroom wasn't all too clean and part of the shower to change the heat kept turning up and at some point fell off as well. The windows were a tad dirty, but that's not all too much of a problem for me.

Situated right in the centre of this pretty Cornish city, a two minute walk from Truro Cathedral and my own destination, The Hall For Cornwall. The Barley Sheaf operates as a normal pub, and a very nice one too, I spent a leisurely afternoon watching the Test Match on their large screen. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Not sure how many rooms that they operate but it' a small number. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable and the shower was very reviving after a night of fun! The staff apologised for not providing breakfast but it was no problem as the pub is surrounded by eateries of all types from pasties and and sandwiches to curries and burritos! I fully recommend this establishment and will happily return again

I only spent the one day!

The location was in the city centre close to everything. Lot's of good pubs and plenty of shops. The rooms were above the pub which was very nice and the beer garden was right next to a river. Didn't eat or have a drink at the hotel but wish we did.

The car park across the road from the hotel which is owned by the council was very confusing. The seagulls were very noisy and wasn't expecting them as we were inland and away from the coast. Most parts of Cornwall businesses shut early which we found strange especially being in the middle of the school summer holidays. As Cornwall makes most of it's money from tourism in the spring and summer months we didn't get it.

For £70 a night you are not going to get a Raddison Blue, the hotel is a bit dated in places but really lovely cleans bedding, super fluffy towels and my room (8) had a fab shower !! So all in all that’s the important things, slept really well and the bar staff that check you in are lovely and helpful… very close to central Truro and cathedral…….? Small room, would I stay for a week on vacation..,,No, is it ok for a couple of nights as a business traveller….. hell yes it is !!!

Lovely old pub that was dog friendly. The rooms were a little on the older side but were clean, comfortable and quiet.

We couldn’t get a meal there on a Sunday and had a hard time finding somewhere to get a meal. We ended up with Chinese takeaway and had to eat it in our rooms as we weren’t allowed to eat outside food on the premises. Parking was down the street in a paid parking lot.

Mostly all of the pub, clean, fresh, beer brilliant, no food on the night I stayed but was recommended to eating places. Room was brilliant, bright and airy. Only thing was that as a solo walker I would have liked a hot drink in the morning before I left but for some reason the kettle didn't work. I couldn't complain to anyone at 0730 and neither would I. Other than that, very good.

The location was very good for the city, right next to the cathedral.

Could do with a shaver socket in the bathroom and better lighting for the mirror. The extractor fan sounded as if it was working but had zero suction. Probably blocked. (Room 3)

This must have been the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the shower was beautiful. Very central, close to the cathedral and a Co-op.

The size of the room was fine for one person, but might be a bit crowded for two. Upon check out you leave the key in the door to your room. This means that you can't lock the outer door. When I left that door was unlocked, so that anyone could enter.

My room was spacious and had a huge comfy bed and sparkling clean en suite shower. The location was excellent right next to the cathedral and a great choice of places to eat within 2 minutes walk - the beautiful cathedral bells ringing in the evening were an unexpected touch!! Great value for money - definitely recommend.
