The lodge is a great size . It’s comfortable and cosy. It has a lovely balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the lake. The property has a utility room and lots of facilities. The main double shower is very powerful.

I didn’t like all the stains on the carpets, furniture, walls & throws. Many of the marks were dog prints. The furniture all needs tightening & new padding on the dining room chairs . One drawer in the single room needs attaching. The lodge all needs a bit of DIY . The kitchen kick boards are all wonky. Main bedroom door needs an extra screw as it’s loose.

Stunning grounds, attention to detail in accommodation, tv in bath was a big hit! Lots of wardrobe space. Every home from home comfort thought about. My son loved the rocking chair. Nothing was too much trouble, I had some flowers delivered for my daughter's graduation, they made sure they were in chalet, in a vase ready for when she returned from graduation, even sent me a photo so I could see what they were like.

Prices for swimming pool was a bit steep for 4 of us. Would be ideal for a bigger group though. Although we did have an amazing time having to ourselves.

Chycara was such a delightful place to stay. So tranquil. There was great communication from the hosts and we felt relaxed as soon as we arrived.

Only thing for me on a personal level was the fact that it said accessible. Maybe I misread for the accommodation I booked as it wasn't. If I hadn't misread, not having grab rails is an issue. Honestly, though, apart from that ,we truly can't fault our stay. A wonderful find and we will be back 😃

The grounds of Chycara is phenomenal and gave all of the feelings of staying in the woods, near a river. The sounds, site and location were all fantastic and it truly was picturesque and a mindfulness enhancing retreat. The owners were very friendly and the cabin we were staying in was excellent, with highly comfortable beds and all the facilities you would need, which were good in quality. The location of the site is also fantastic as it is 30 minutes drive from most of the highly interesting locations around Cornwall.

Lovely area and beautiful quiet site, set in a lovely wooded surrounding. Lovely clean and modern accommodation. Ideally situated within easy reach of many visitors locations. Bookable swimming pool on site was a lovely additional extra.

A small observation to get to the lodges just past the swimming pool there is a bit of a blind corner, which can be difficult if a vehicle is coming out as you are going in maybe put up a small mirror or smaller hedges. Other than that lovely.

Beautiful location, very peaceful and relaxing. The hidden hut was very clean and comfortable. Absolutely ideal for a one or two night stay in a beautiful part of Cornwall.

As I arrived a little earlier than planned I decided to visit a local super market for something to eat back at the lodge. Unfortunately this wasn't suitable for the combi oven stated in the description. My own fault for not checking first. Also the was no bottle opener/corkscrew but this didn't spoil the overall experience.

Pros: ambience, open floor plan, beds comfortable, TV very decent, furnishing excellent, basic kitchen items all present. Really nice place. Everything was a close drive away and great info was provided by the team.

More provision of certain kitchen items, sponges, foil, scourers, etc would have been good. Wifi was very good for most but stopped working for large stints which was troublesome.

The perfect getaway in a beautiful peaceful and secluded location. Our accommodation, Shepherd's Hut, had everything you could need or hope for in self- catering, with nothing whatsoever forgotten! We never saw the staff but there was no need. Everything had been well explained in emails prior to arrival. Honestly we could not fault Chycara and would gladly stay again.

I guess the window blinds still let in a little too much light at dawn, but then waking up with the birds is part of the joy of the experience.

The location was quiet and restful with lovely green surroundings. The cabin was bright and modern. There were basic kitchen facilities

The space was quite compact but it would have been good to have had racks for suitcases. There was also no guest laundry facilities which we had to drive several miles into town to find.

The lodge was lovely, clean, comfortable and warm and in a lovely location. We stayed during a storm and although we could hear the rain and wind, we were lovely and safe in the lodge.

We arrived in the dark and it is really dark with no lighting and very tight roads. The Wi-Fi wasn’t very good at all and kept dipping out and so we couldn’t get the tv to work properly. We stayed during a storm so that maybe why.
