I stayed in Truro for a week and the Mannings Hotel fitted the bill for my stay; central location, quiet and comfortable room, with very friendly and helpful staff. A good continental breakfast and good coffee was included within my room rate and there was the option to order a variety of cooked breakfast options at an extra cost, though I did not feel the need to avail myself of this on this occasion. The room had all I needed and was very clean and serviced daily. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The gated car park had plenty of spaces and operated well. I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again.

Friendly welcome ,pleasant room ,good comfortable bed, and especially the convenience of being able to use the hotel carpark in the centre of what is now almost a traffic free city centre. We had booked to watch a show at the Hall for Cornwall ,and knew from having lived in Cornwall a few years ago that the hotel was just 50 yards away . Perfect for our one night stay ! Next morning we enjoyed continental breakfast in the relaxing restaurant surroundings. We will definitely book Mannings again.

The view from our room of the unkempt rear of other nearby buildings was somewhat depressing , though not the fault of the hotel.

Lovely staff, so helpful, without being in any way intrusive. The room was extremely clean and well provided, having iron and ironing board. Excellent location near the cathedral where we were singing while the choristers were on holiday. I liked the accessibility - the front door being open all day.

The only thing I felt could have been better was to have had a lift, but I understood that the hotel is a listed building, so it's being near the centre of the city made up for this. Of course the gulls made a racket - to be expected!

Comfortable bed, quiet room which was dark so I had a good night's sleep. The bathroom was well fitted out, and there were tea and coffee making facilities. Staff on reception and in the restaurant were all very friendly. The location is very central.

It would have been nice to have some herbal tea selections in the room; this may have been an oversight as they were available at breakfast (and i took some sachets from there). Continental breakfast was included, but I had the Greek yoghurt with fruit from the menu. This was very well presented, but I felt that 9 pounds was a bit excessive for it.

Hotel - Very clean, great rooms. Has a more upmarket feel. Restaurant provides some top notch food. Location. Right in the middle of the city of Truro. My view was of the courtyard and cathedral. Easy to get to and has it own private car park. Train station is a 10 minute walk, bus station is 2 minutes across the marketplace.

No aircon. I think for the rooms this is the only thing missing. It would add a level of comfort I feel was missing. Fans can only do so much when it’s hot. Birds. Unfortunately the courtyard is a catchment area for the local bird population and cars can get stained. However a hose and water supply has been provided should you need to wash your car, a very nice touch.

Room was clean and comfortable. Great location for attending an event at the Hall for Cornwall which is literally just a few minutes walk away. Buffet continental breakfast in the morning was enjoyable. Would have liked to have had a nightcap in the hotel bar but there was a VERY loud group which spoiled the atmosphere for us.

Only complaint was the noisy group in the hotel bar who were swearing a lot. I'm not a prude, but there is a time and a place for such language and it put me off having a drink after returning from the theatre. Bar prices were not cheap and I would have wanted to enjoy a peaceful drink

This hotel is perfectly situated in the pedestrian downtown area of Truro. It's right on the NCN3 so is easy to get to for cyclists. Plus the hotel generously allowed us to store our bikes overnight in one of their lounges. Our room was large and spotlessly clean, with two chairs and of course a tea kettle with a great choice of teas.. Breakfast was excellent. The generous breakfast that comes with your booking was more than enough for us but, if you're really hungry, you can also order from a menu to add to your morning meal..The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We liked everything.

The location is excellent for stopping over after visiting the Hall for Cornwall. We had the continental breakfast, at no extra cost. This comprised of a selection of teas, coffee, fruit (melon, prunes, various other fruits), toast, pastries, cereals and possibly more. The room was spacious, including a massive, comfortable bed. We made use of the fan as it was hot outside. A selection of tea and coffee in the room, but no complimentary biscuits. The shower was over the bath. Immaculately clean and tidy. All staff were really polite and friendly.

The room is very comfortable with free secure parking- you just have to buzz the intercom and they will open the gate for you. Then if you need to go in on foot you get a code for that. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but there is a full restaurant on site if you need it. There are helpful staff in reception and the hotel is slap bang in the centre of Truro near all the restaurants etc.

Nothing. It was all fine. There is not a whole lot to do in Truro but we had to get there to get on the train so it was convenient for that, albeit the Truro rail station is up the hill

We chose Mannings for the location as were attending an event at the Hall For Cornwall and it was perfectly located for this. Our room was spacious and located on the second floor. We were aware that due to the nature of the building there wasn't a lift but this wasn't an issue for this. The room was very clean and the bed comfy. Tea and coffee facilities were provided and, although a biscuit would have been nice with the cuppa before bed, this wasn't a major issue. The ensuite wasn't the most modern but was certainly more than adequate for us. We had the continental style buffet breakfast which was included in the room cost. A cooked option was available for an extra charge. However, we were more than happy with the buffet breakfast, where there was a good selection of fruit/yogurt/pastries/toast/jams etc. Overall we thought the breakfast was very good. The staff we saw were also very welcoming and polite. We would definitely use Mannings again if visiting Truro.

It would have been nice if the bar was open later so a nightcap could have been enjoyed after our show. However, we were aware from reading previous reviews that this wouldn't be the case. If we were really keen on a drink I'm sure we could have found somewhere else!
