Beautiful premises and lovely staff. Views stunning. Breakfast super. Our room was so comfortable, and the decor throughout was beautiful. It felt very 'New England' like with subtle beachy shades. The garden is stunning with lots of secluded seating areas looking out to sea. We visited in the autumn, and it wasn't quite warm enough to sit out for long, but I can imagine how relaxing it would be to sit out there in warmer weather!

We knew the reception wasn't staffed 24/7. It was clearly explained in the information email. We arrived at 1700 and the door code worked to get the key, it just felt slightly weird letting ourselves into the premises not having seen anyone. In the morning we met the staff and they were all fabulous.

The location was incredible, lovely views and amazing beach near by. Walking distance from Porthscatho. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I understand that the place has seen better days, but we have still enjoyed it. The breakfast was not the best - there were supposed to be 2 days of buffet, not cooked breakfast, which turned into 3, it wouldn't have been a problem, but the buffet was not the best, very little diversity.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Driftwood. It must be noted that it is now in a transitional state from hotel to Bed and Breakfast, breakfast is continental style buffet twice a week and very good, the other mornings or fully served. The young man who served use was very good, understanding the etiquette required. There is no 'ridiculously overly priced laboratory Michelin* restaurant' now, although it would be nice to have a restaurant serving good straight forward food, with so many very good local pubs it is not the end of the world and would certainly not stop us from revisiting this stunning location. A wonderful place to stay and our hope as with many guest, both new and returning we talked to, is that is won't be spoiled by over development and increased fee's though the new owner.

Nothing really, maybe a night porter, but again this is not essential, though some guests where a little concerned. We will defiantly be revisiting as soon as possible.

Really lovely location. We had a Seaview room which was really comfortable and clean. The only down side was that the mattress was too soft for us so sleep was a bit fitful. Also in a south facing room, it would be a good idea to have blinds at the window to shade out the sun during the day. Not having any meant the room was a bit uncomfortably hot in the night. We were very lucky with the weather which rather exacerbated the hot room issue- though obviously this wasn't under anyone's control! Leah who was on reception and dining room duties, was absolutely lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. She is a real asset to Driftwood.

The location was breath taking the hotel has had new owner so at present don’t offer evening meals but we found great pub 5 min drive away Plume of Feathers - great food. We noticed in areas was looking tired & some of decking & hand rails need replacing but guess work in progress

Our room was on ground floor once you open the French Doors onto your own patio you realise how close you are to your neighbour as only divided by a screen fencing partition

The location was beautiful. The breakfast was excellent and well served by the staff.

My room was excellent but the shower was inadequate in that it was a hand held shower head with no screen and I was unable to sit in the bath due to a hip replacement. As well as this the shower was either extremely hot or extremely cold and I was unable to regulate them together. I was moved to another room twice as the hotel was full but they did all that they were able to do in order to appease the situation.

Lovely breakfast but a shame only 5 days out of 7 are offered as cooked. Lovely comfortable room and location fantastic - very peaceful.

Having stayed 3 years ago, it now looks very tired and shabby. Still a beautiful place but rather sad. Overpriced for what it was - we paid the same 3 years ago with all the facilities available.

Disappointing not to provide evening meals anymore although good eating places at Portscatho.I had not studied the small print sufficiently and was surprised to find it was basically a B&B establishment that you entered by key pad and code. The views were breathtaking though.....

Clean very comfortable room with the most incredible view!!! Easy check in. Breakfast was super! Wonderful walk down to the beach and along coastal path.

Communication could have been better as had asked at booking for non bio linen (allergic) & early check in. No rely and phone line was down when tried to call. Turns out neither were a problem! Coffee pod machine or similar would have made it perfect in terms of facilities but we are coffee snobs.

The breakfast the day the chef was working was excellent.

We didn't realise the cooked breakfast was only available for one day of our stay and not available for the following two days. As it was my husbands birthday it was a little disappointing but I can only blame myself for not reading the details thoroughly when booking.
