We really enjoyed our stay at The Driftwood. It must be noted that it is now in a transitional state from hotel to Bed and Breakfast, breakfast is continental style buffet twice a week and very good, the other mornings or fully served. The young man who served use was very good, understanding the etiquette required. There is no 'ridiculously overly priced laboratory Michelin* restaurant' now, although it would be nice to have a restaurant serving good straight forward food, with so many very good local pubs it is not the end of the world and would certainly not stop us from revisiting this stunning location. A wonderful place to stay and our hope as with many guest, both new and returning we talked to, is that is won't be spoiled by over development and increased fee's though the new owner.

Nothing really, maybe a night porter, but again this is not essential, though some guests where a little concerned. We will defiantly be revisiting as soon as possible.

Really lovely location. We had a Seaview room which was really comfortable and clean. The only down side was that the mattress was too soft for us so sleep was a bit fitful. Also in a south facing room, it would be a good idea to have blinds at the window to shade out the sun during the day. Not having any meant the room was a bit uncomfortably hot in the night. We were very lucky with the weather which rather exacerbated the hot room issue- though obviously this wasn't under anyone's control! Leah who was on reception and dining room duties, was absolutely lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. She is a real asset to Driftwood.

The location was beautiful. The breakfast was excellent and well served by the staff.

My room was excellent but the shower was inadequate in that it was a hand held shower head with no screen and I was unable to sit in the bath due to a hip replacement. As well as this the shower was either extremely hot or extremely cold and I was unable to regulate them together. I was moved to another room twice as the hotel was full but they did all that they were able to do in order to appease the situation.

Clean very comfortable room with the most incredible view!!! Easy check in. Breakfast was super! Wonderful walk down to the beach and along coastal path.

Communication could have been better as had asked at booking for non bio linen (allergic) & early check in. No rely and phone line was down when tried to call. Turns out neither were a problem! Coffee pod machine or similar would have made it perfect in terms of facilities but we are coffee snobs.

The location offers great sea views and nice gardens. They serve a decent breakfast, but since the change of ownership that's it for food or beverage service for the rest of the day. The private beach is accessed via a steep cliff path, but is worth the effort... just make sure you take everything you need.

The property is comfortable in an old fashioned way, but to many would be lacking modern amenities like showers and room controlled HVAC.

Wonderful Sea views. Nice room with beachy theme. Clean and comfortable bed. Lovely restaurant and wine, Staff most attentive. Lovely outdoor furniture inviting you into the garden with a book if the weather were better! Delightful private beach very convenient for the sea-swimmers!

Liked everything about the Driftwood except that it was very expensive to stay (€200 per night would be a good price for our small room v €350?!) and very expensive to eat (no other choices nearby) and at the best part of €600 for one night for a couple, it represented poor value overall. I am sorry to report that the Driftwood was the least good value of all the lovely places in Cornwall that we stayed on this trip?!

Superb location and views along the coast. Food beautifully prepared and not over-facing(size-wise); attentive and friendly service.

Very comfortable room with a sea-view(and rain on the flat-roof !). TV aerial socket/plug connection was loose, so I had to use my iPad. Not mended during my stay.

All was great, apart from one very important thing. The room hadn't been properly cleaned in a while. I cleared three spiders from our ceiling over our bed within 5 minutes of arriving, and another few in our cupboard, and a couple in the bathroom. Thereafter, it was great, but the lovely reception by the lady who greeted us had slightly evaporated by then.

It's in a transitional period so no staff on the property I think ordinarily this would be a very hospitable hotel and a dreamy stay We loved the quality of breakfast and then found out it was a Michelin star restaurant which made sense... the only shame was no bar and evening food etc But we understand this will change when the new hotel forms

The location was amazing and the view from our room and the restaurant was stunning. The food was first class.

Our room was very spacious, but the only thing we found annoying was that we had to put the kettle on the floor as there were no plug sockets higher up.
