The room as lovely, very spacious with plenty of storage space and amazing views of the bay. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. The hotel is very convenient for the beach and only a few minutes walk to the town. Would/will come again. Thank you.

Breakfast service was very slow. The hot selection is great, but it took a long time for it to be delivered, including the tea and coffee, which should be easy to provide quickly. We gave up on the last 2 breakfasts as it took too long. Bar is lovely, but more staff needed, again long waits during busy times. Perhaps it would a good idea to have a different approach to teas and coffees, as making an delivery of these to customers takes the bar staff away from the bar?

Great location walking distance from the town, and right on the seafront. Lovely helpful staff. We didn’t like our allocated room, which had sloping ceilings and a tiny bathroom but the staff showed us to a bigger room on the floor below, even though the hotel was fully booked, and we were able to take that room instead. Breakfast service was excellent and a lovely bar lounge overlooking the sea. Room was cleaned every day, to a high standard.

There was a damp patch on the wall which had been painted over, and the paint was flaking off, on to the carpet. We mentioned it to reception on leaving but it didn’t impact our enjoyment of our stay.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved our room. The breakfast was very good, for both myself as a vegetarian and my meat eater partner. The view from the breakfast room is wonderful. There was far more to like about the hotel and our stay than not.

We had an evening meal. The menu was reduced due to staff shortages, and the choice was disappointing, unfortunately. Perhaps at a different time (we were there between Christmas and New Year), it would have been better. There were plenty of good places to eat locally though. This was a minor detail and didn't diminish our overall excellent experience.

Lovely grand hotel in a great location and we stayed5 days. Staff were all very friendly and lovely. It’s currently been/being refurbished so the bar/lounge/dining areas were very nice, some painting going on around the place. Drinks and food are available 24/7 if you are a resident so could sit and chill as long as we wanted to. We had afternoon cream tea and later came back for cocktails when you can ask for whatever you like. Breakfast was good selection. Pool was small but so handy though I think the changing rooms could do with a bit of TLC. Our room had a fab sea view, totally worth paying the extra for executive double. Great selection of hot drinks, real coffee with a cafetière, Cornish biscuits and water in the fridge. All the details in the room were good; mirror with makeup lighting; mirror at right height to sit at desk and plugs right on it for hairdryer. Enough drawers and hanging space. Room decor is a bit dated but clean and very comfortable. Parking good and 2 EV chargers available. Very nice walk along the sea to Gyllyngvase beach and near town.

The dining was quite pricey and a bit bland, though the catch of the day was very tasty and well presented. However, the Asian chicken was a small flat chewy chicken breast with some sweet Teryaki sauce on it, a little bit of slaw and a small bowl of fries which seemed expensive for £26. There’s some refurbishment still needed but that seems to be underway.

The hotel is in a wonderful location. Lovely sea views and only a short walk from the centre. We had a complementary upgrade and had a fabulous superior sea view with two balconies. We only had the continental breakfast but it was fine and there was fruit salad!

The room was hot so maybe a sheet would help so the duvet could be dispensed with. The service was a bit more problematic. We were given the wrong key at check in. When I came back to reception to point this out, the woman who had given us the wrong key was totally uninterested, no sorry. We ate in the restaurant the first night. Fortunately we were watching the boats in the bay so happy to wait a bit but after 45 minutes we had to ask where our meal was! Hopefully as the hotel refurbishment proceeds so does staff training.

Lovely to spend some time to relax at one of my favourite hotels. Such a stunning setting adjacent and overlooking Falmouth’s glorious seafront. Beautifully, part- refurbished, stunning reception and dining rooms. With more renovations yet to come, it will be once again Falmouth’s jewel in the crown. Such a great team who create a welcoming and relaxing environment- in particular Lorraine and Jayne as well as Charlotte in the spa.

I stayed in a top floor suite overlooking the sea out to Pendennis castle. The room was lovely and bright and a good size. The furniture and furnishings were a little dated and although the bathroom had been updated in recent years, it is now ready for redecoration. I’m sure this will be addressed as part of the ongoing refurbishment. The leisure facilities, even though they are clean, are pretty much at the end of their days……I’m hoping that, in time, the pool and changing facilities can be upgraded 😊

Great location across the road from the sea. Our room had a balcony on the side and had fantastic view of the sea and Pendennis Castle. Foods was great, we ate in every night and facilities like gym and pool were met our needs for the stay. Staff were fantastic and very helpful and a great place to stay. Lovely to see it being refurbished and we will definitely be coming back hopefully towards the end of this year.

Wasent much we didn't like. Only things I would say would be that the car park was being relaid so was closed when we arrived. Only affected us for one night but could have been messaged to let us know in advance. Also the swimming pool was a little murky. Just needs a backwash to clear it.

The building is beautiful and has been a hotel since 1865, the staircase is lovely and we saw a beautiful stain glass window. Our room was clean and comfortable plus we had a lovely view of the sea. The room had tea, coffee making facilities which was nice. When we arrived (we didn’t arrive till 10pm) the staff were lovely, very friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast was included in our stay and there was a lovely selection of cold or cooked breakfasts, the staff in the breakfast room were also very friendly. I would definitely stay again.

I can’t think of anything, we really enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is an excellent example of a place that is striving for improvement. I was quite worried based on some reviews, but luckily was pleasantly surprised! We loved the amazing views, very friendly staff and beautiful gardens with its close proximity to the strand. Another great selling point is that it is super doggy friendly so you can travel with your furry friends and feel totally comfortable, the welcome gift of a toy and treats was very well received. The breakfast was good and tasty and having the option of the pool and sauna was very refreshing to start or end your day. Overall Excellent stay and excellent value for money!

The hotel does need major renovation and updating throughout, which is in progress with new management so will take time. Certain modern comforts are lacking for now but if you can ignore this and appreciate its very charming character, it is worth a stay.

The hotel itself is a little dated but then that adds to the charm of the hotel. And if you want modern, you would of course go elsewhere. The room was a little smaller than I thought, but that didn't matter really as we were only there for the latter part of the evening. There was room for our suitcases and the en-suite was adequate for our needs. The breakfast menu had a good choice and very tasty. We had a bonus of a sea view which was really nice to wake up to each morning. The pool we used and was really refreshing after a day's wandering around. T A good all round few days. Thank you.

The only disappointment was the jacuzzi was out of order. That is something that the hotel could not have planned. Hopefully our next visit, the Jacuzzi will be up and working. The ladies changing room, the floor was a little unkempt. It was around t-time though and getting busy. So might be an idea to keep an eye on that.
