The breakfast , restaurant and the outside area of the property was excellent. They also give you an option to opt out of housekeeping in return of a £5 voucher which is a good step towards protecting the environment.

The rooms were missing several amenities that had been listed at the time of booking—for example, an iron was not provided unless specifically requested. Upon arrival, we received only three very small water bottles, and had to buy additional water from a nearby supermarket. The room itself was not clean and appeared dusty. We had booked a family room, but the shower area had no door, which was quite inconvenient.

A very well run establishment with a lot of thought gone in to making the best possible stay for its guests. The rooms are very tastefully decorated with all the modern facilities normally found in good class hotels,large and clean with wet room shower and bath facilities,modern TV and super large comfortable beds. The grounds are spacious with the rooms set out in various locations of the area. The main building being an old coaching inn on the former A30 through the village of Mitchell and is now a peacefull backwater creating the pleasant ambience of the establishment. The restaurant serves good fresh food and the pies I must say are one of the best I have ever had!,and I am not a regular meat or pie eater,(I usually prefer veggie) but I had it two days out of the three we stayed here.!!. Excellent breakfast, pleasant staff what more do you need. Not the cheapest of stays,but that is irrelevant as you get what you pay for. Having stayed at many Hotels,etc in Cornwall over the year I think I rate this as the best!

Beautifully presented. The main old building looked cared for and welcoming. It featured a very pleasant restaurant and bar area, and we were served by lovely staff who made every effort to provide a super-quality service throughout our stay. Attractive “barn” style accommodation to the rear, using local-looking stone/slate, and set within pretty, well maintained gardens. It suited the quiet setting, and our room was comfortable and peaceful, with a flavour of a Cornish rural retreat! We really liked the real, fresh veg that was served in the restaurant; it was a good, memorable thing! Thank you!

This place is a bit of a find. Located in a small village off the A30 just before Carland Cross it is a good base for getting aound Cornwall. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was well appointed and very clean. The bed was comfy and the rain shower good. A special word for the food here which was very good. The Full Plume breakfast was large and tasty and served in the bar area. Evening meals were in the conservatory, reasonably priced for this kind of establishment, well cooked and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will be back.

It would be nice if the main bar area had a few more comfortable seats. Nothing else really as it exceeded our expectations

We will continue to come back to this hotel. The rooms are huge and so are the beds. Dinner was gorgeous. Breakfast amazing (please include the small cornish breakfast on your menu for paying guests, please! Its perfect for smaller appetites). Also, found the room was cold and we had zero ability to control this ourselves.

Sockets/mirrors. Pleeeeease put a better dressing table set up for us females. Natural light, mirror, socket, chair. Also had to question charges on our room for breakfast which was already paid for as part of our booking. They sorted this out and it was absolutely no issue. This is why we love this place.

The staff were very welcoming and check in / out is easy. Loads of parking and convenient location as it's close to the A30 (not too close!) and the beautiful North coast is only 20 mins away. The rooms are really lovely, so clean and with everything you need (even a little treat bag for our four legged traveller!) Would definitely recommend this pub / hotel to stay.

The dog friendly room was quite close to the pub with large glass doors so there were a lot of people walking by. If you have a nervous dog, it would be better to be further away with less passers by or a blind installed to prevent unwanted barking!

Food at dinner and breakfast were excellent. The room was comfortable and spacious. We mentioned to the receptionist at checkout that we thought a second chair in the room would have been useful. A case support would allow unpacking and packing at a convenient height. My wife would appreciate some form or dressing table in front of a mirror. Somewhere to place soap and other items used in the bath would be useful. We were impressed by the facilities and enjoyed our stay so these are simply observations/suggestions.

Beautiful village, very peaceful and quiet. The accommodation is excellent, with spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. The food in the restaurant is excellent, with locally sourced ingredients and good choices. All of the staff are attentive, and in particular, Connor was brilliant in the restaurant; he looked after us very well and also gave us a little bit of history about the building.

I wish that they would just supply coffee sachets in the room, rather than the coffee machine, which didnt work well enough.

From the moment we acquired the key to the moment we departed, we were met with a sense of significance from all those employed at the hotel. The bed in our room was sublime and expansive, providing me with the most restful sleep in years. The shower was particularly effective in alleviating the aches and pains incurred during our exploration of the Cornish coastline. The culinary offerings were exquisite, and the bar offered a diverse and well-stocked selection of beverages. Given these exceptional amenities, there is no reason to consider alternative accommodations. I anticipate returning to this establishment should I find myself in the vicinity again.

We were met on check in by Dee who we knew from our previous visits. She is always friendly and enthusiastic and walked us up to our room explaining the xmas menu etc. Xmas dinner was fabulous. Plenty of piping hot food and very tasty. Breakfast was the last thing on our mind the next morning as we had eaten so well the previous night but it was rude to miss it. Full Cornish served by the ever smiling Stewart, Everything on the plate is quality and cooked just like we have at home. Stewart is very attentive and a breathe of fresh air first thing in the morning. Check out by Jo was easy and a pleasure. Will definitely be returning in the future.
