Everything about this property was perfect. Mark and Lisa are wonderful hosts. They are engaging is the most lovely way. Always so so friendly and helpful with everything, from how your day went to offers of places to go depending on your personal preferences and of course the weather. Close to Newquay but without the hustle and bustle. Peaceful place to stay with the local pub “The Farmers Arms” who serve the best evening meal at the end of an exhausting day so no need to go anywhere else. The accommodation was so perfect, clean, beautiful gardens, wonderful freshly cooked breakfast great location. Everything perfect. Just try it. You will not be disappointed. Honestly this will ruin my chances of staying again because everyone will want to stay here. Best thing I can say is :- “you’ll arrive as a guests and hosts, but you will leave as best friends”

My stay wasn’t long enough

What a little gem, tucked away in the heart of the village but a stones throw from the bustle and beaches of Newquay and excellent placed for access to loads of great days out. Wonderfully welcoming hosts, gorgeous property, comfortable, well appointed room with a view onto the walled garden. Tucked away in the comfort of our room, we felt a million miles from the troubles of the world ,watching the jackdaws gather nesting material from the trunk of the palm growing in the lovely private garden. There is a cosy pub a stones throw away that had a warm welcome too. Breakfast was delicious, served in a small dining room with the hosts on hand cooking and chatting, they promote, and achieve, a convivial relaxed atmosphere. We loved our stay and felt that we got so much more from it than we expected. Loved the whole experience.

I am brutally honest when I review and normally bring things to the attention of the venue at the time. I do not see the point in making negative comments after the fact. I do not have a single negative about this place. They deserve to be booked out every day of the year.

Our room, the Crantock Suite, was absolutely beautiful. The large freestanding bath in the window made the stay for us - and the recent addition of the wooden style blinds only added to the effect, providing a continental feel. The building and garden in its entirety was gorgeously styled and we appreciated the attention to detail throughout. Apparently we were the first guests of 2025 and our stay for Valentines was very special - we loved the rose in the vase in the bedroom touch. The breakfast was lovingly presented and tasted divine. Lastly, the hosts were warm and welcoming and made us feel very 'at home' during our stay.

Hosts Lisa & Mark made us feel most welcome . We selected Penwyth House as a location suited to our needs . It is outside central Newquay making it a very quiet B&B . We stayed 5 nights using it as a central base with which to explore Cornwall . That proved to be a wise decision as we could travel north , south or east with a drive that was no more than an one and a half hours to any destination . Breakfast was hard to fault & always had us well prepared for the day ahead .

Not much . Stairs & luggage are always a challenge but stay long enough & you only go up & down once .

We loved the clear communication prior to our stay regarding parking and access. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and styled to a high standard (as is the whole house) with gorgeous bedding and super comfy beds. We absolutely loved our cooked breakfasts and didn't want to leave each morning - the selection was fabulous and our hosts were so much fun! Recommendations were also great - the local pub for a game of pool, a snack and reading on the sofa in the evening and the relaxing walk on their doorstep - through the fields and along the coast, passing several beautiful beaches and ending at Fistral Beach - made for a lovely day out and a memorable stay in Newquay. So much thought has gone into making Penwyth House a welcoming and easy stay. We highly recommend staying here and would love to do it all again. Thanks guys! Mel & Kim

We didn't get to meet the dogs!!! Honestly, nothing at all

There was nothing that we didnt like - the hosts went above and beyond to make our short time there an extremely pleasant one. Mark and Lisa are so welcoming that it feels like you’ve been there many times before. The garden is idyllic in every way, with the views from the bedrooms overlooking the quaintness of the area. Everything was finished to a really high quality standard with filter coffee and fresh milk available ion arrival. The shower was specifically a high point, and our breakfast in the morning was delicious. The hosts also recommended some great local sights to see which was very helpful. We’d love to be back again!

We had the most delightful stay at this charming B&B! The Mark and Lucy was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time. Their wealth of information on local dining options and places of interest truly enhanced our experience. The house itself was absolutely beautiful, with a quintessential English style setting that added to the overall ambiance. Our room was incredibly comfortable, boasting a luxurious 5-star bed and an exquisite shower that made us feel pampered throughout our stay. I can't recommend this B&B highly enough. Exceptional hospitality.. We'll definitely be returning for another memorable stay!

Parking was an issue due to limited parking space.

Penwyth House is a fabulous place to stay. Thank you Mark & Lisa for being a great hosts. Throughout our stay, the homely cooked breakfast provide us the great start for every day. Without your invaluable inputs on places to visit, local food, culture & etc, our stay in Cornwall wouldn’t be so enjoyable and memorable. Whilst being a great host, you are more than qualified to be the ambassador for Cornwall. Stay well and stay healthy, we hope to see yall soon.

Mark and Lisa were superb hosts and made sure that we were made very welcome. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean with a very nice bathroom with a large shower. Although the instructions to access the main gate on paper seemed a bit complicated it was super easy and we were actually met by Mark who showed us to our room. Breakfast the next morning cooked by Lisa was very tasty in fact we asked for the recipe!! It was the ideal location, not too far from where we live to have a weekend of respite (We are carers for Steve's 93yr old mum who lives with us) We would highly recommend it. Thanks for taking such good care of us.

There was nothing that we didn't like about Penwyth House. As mentioned above we would definitely recommend it. It may be that parking might be an issue in the height of summer but Mark and Lisa have thought of that already and have arrangements in place for visitors to park at the local church which is only 2 minute walk away.

Fashionable and cosy, this place offers everything you need for a good rest after a day of sightseeing. The hosts are superb! Offering lots of advice about the local attractions and the places to eat! And they know their food! They go far and beyond to make you comfortable in their home. The room and the bathroom are newly decorated with the idea of comfort. And the breakfast is out of this world! Some celebrity chefs may consider taking training classes in the kitchen of the hostess!! Thank you Mark and Liz!!
