Everything about this place, from the room, to the location and to the food was just lush. Our view of the beach was absolutely dreamy and we loved hearing the waves crash.

The only thing that’s a bit awkward is the road you go down to get to the car park is also a pedestrian crossing. Luckily we’d researched ahead and looked at maps to figure it out. I’d say you need a big sign by there so that people know that’s the turning!

It was very quiet at night, the view from the room was spectacular, uninterrupted view of the sea. Not too far into centre of Newquay, excellent staff, very friendly, accommodating, spotless room, lovely bath & shower, good quality towels etc etc. Newquay is the perfect place to use as a base to drive to all the other wonderful places like Padstow, St Ives, the Eden Project, all within 1/2 to 3/4 hours driving. & the restaurants round here are incredible, I recommend the Pig at Harylon Bay & Rick Steins seafood restaurant in Newquay near the Newquay GC.

When we arrived at Newquay the signposting to the hotel is non existent & had to phone the hotel to find out how to get to it. They need additional signage on the main road to point out the entrance to the hotel, if your your not a confident driver beware of the narrow windey road down to the hotel, I would suggest you park in their carpark which is only 1/2 way down the lane as it’s very very tight!!!!!!! We stayed in the room called “Halcyon” & although it was lovely & and incredible sea view, on a couple of mornings you could smell the cooking of the kitchens & it could be perceived as a bit off putting first thing in the morning.

The restaurant is very good. We ate dinner and breakfast in our one-night stay and were very happy with both meals. The room was comfortable with decidedly old-fashioned design and decor. Lots of style and clearly in good taste. The view from the room was superb. The staff was extremely helpful both with the luggage on the stairs and getting out back to the main road.

The road down to hotel is a bit difficult and it is best to speak with the staff to ferry luggage and people from the upper parking lot to the hotel. It is quite a hike up the hill to the town and there doesn't appear to be much near the hotel so it is best to take advantage of the very good restaurant during the stay.

Me and my partner went to this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary and when we turned up to the property it was clear it was very well looked after, it was so clean and immaculate. The staff were so friendly and really helpful to. We had breakfast both mornings of our stay and a meal in the restaurant, the food was incredible! We got cocktails when we got there to and these were also amazing. We also got to look in one of the self catering apartments which to our delight was just as amazing as the hotel room we stayed in, we will be planning to return and bring our little ones with us next time!

This was a birthday surprise and celebration for my wife’s 60th birthday!! From the outset the staff and management made this a very memorable and fabulous experience for both myself and my wife ! Nothing was to much trouble. A very beautiful hotel in a truly magical location!! The room (Cavalier) was perfect in every way! Stylish, classy and extremely comfortable with views of the beach and sea to die for!! We ate in the Colonial Restaurant and could not fault the amazing atmosphere ! From the attentive and extremely friendly staff to the wonderful food!! Perfect evening!! A huge thankyou to all the staff and management for making this a truly memorable experience for my wife’s birthday! 🎂

Location-location-location. Hotel sits right on the Newquay beach. Can't beat that if you like to roam sandy beaches looking for shells, and maybe going in the water. Great place for surfers also. Hotel decor is fascinating, an electic blend of Asian, Art Deco, and Caribbean. Not a typical hotel for an "English holiday". Each room is decorated differently. Lovely lobby and restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, with many dinner choices. An excellent selection of cocktails from the bar. Staff were very friendly, but probably overworked.

Finding the hotel was difficult. Eventually had to call for directions. One has to turn onto an unmakred and very narrow single-lane road, driving down the side of a cliff to get to the car park. A tight fit for all the cars in the lot. Then one has a further walk down the cliff to get to the hotel. I recommend that the booking websites describe how to get to the hotel.

Amazing beach, great breakfast and large rooms. Clean with daily cleaning of the rooms and great staff. One of the best hotels we have stayed at in England.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Just minor things that would further increase satisfaction: I would have loved to have for example yoga sessions on the beach in the mornings with a yoga teacher. And exercise programs or some evening entertainment. That would take the experience to international level.

The immediate location on the beach is incredible. And the views are just wow! We had a large room and fantastic large balcony. The high tide comes right up and when it's out you can walk to Newquay or to lusty glaze beaches across the sand. Breakfast was delicious 😋. Very quiet in the room even though we were above the restaurant. Gorgeous clean private beach with snack bar. Lovely cliff walk across to Porth and beyond. It's about a half hour walk to fistral where there's a couple of nice restaurants. Would recommend to anyone who wants to spend time on the beach.

Unfortunately - and this is nothing to do with the hotel - that end of Newquay town itself is not nice. The beaches and walks are gorgeous, the town not so.Two empty derelict hotels on the cliff top which is the first thing you see at the top. Smelly drains further into town and so much litter on the street. It just looks run down and like noone cares. Bed was too soft for my husband. For the price of the room it was a shame that the sand wasn't swept off the floor in our room each morning - it wasn't swept at all and nothing in the room to do.it ourselves. Bath towels weren't folded back up and the last day our bathmat disappeared. Small issue really but it's not a cheap hotel!

Loved everything about our stay. The staff were all amazing couldn't do enough for us. The food was lovely the room was beautiful! And the location was u believeable. Breath taking.

The only thing we could suggest an improvement on was the rooms storage for our belongings. the wardrobe was very small for two people with 2 very small drawers.There were no other drawers ect other than 2 that the record player sat on but these 2 drawers were full of Hotel items. Storage was OK if only staying for a couple of days but would be such a struggle if staying for a week or two.

“While the hotel’s beachfront location offers stunning views and easy access to the ocean, there were a few downsides. The beach could have been cleaner, and parking was a bit of a challenge. Additionally, the lady receptionist was not as customer-friendly as we had hoped, which put a slight damper on the experience. However, the beautiful surroundings and overall ambiance still made for a pleasant stay.”
