We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived, they helped us settle in and talked about what we could see nearby. They are a very friendly family and definitely went the extra mile for us. The breakfast was really good and helped set us up for a day of long walks! The locations is really good, it’s a stones throw away from the beach (with a good arm!), we would definitely come back here when we visit Cornwall again.

A great family run business with a brilliant service in a fantastic location. The standard of hygiene was exemplary. John and Helen (the owners) are amazingly friendly and lovely people who did everything possible to make us feel exceptionally welcome and gave us tips and information of good places to go out etc. We would never stay anywhere else when returning to Newquay. The value for money offering great standards was truly exceptional. We hope to return when we can to see John and Helen and have a great time in Newquay in a great location !

Such a helpful family, really friendly and always someone around to answer questions or give advice. The room was perfect for what I needed - I was travelling with two of my children, so having the bunk beds in with me was ideal. There was still plenty of room to move around the room and the en suite was very lovely and clean with a large shower. Having a kettle and mini fridge was great as I could keep snacks and drinks cool for the kids, and we were given clean cups, tea bags, water bottles and fruit shoots each day. The breakfast runs from 8.30-9.30 and they are very generous servings and lots of options. My teen couldn't finish his fry-up, which is really saying something! My youngest is gluten intolerant and this was accommodated. Parking on site was ideal, as I was mostly walking the kids into Newquay, which was literally 5 minutes walk to the beachfront. The parking area is tight, but I have a large saloon and was seen in and out by someone each time to make sure there was no damage - very helpful if you're not used to driving through tight spots.

The only thing I would have changed is purely a personal preference for a firm mattress - I am a larger lady and sprung mattresses don't support my back as well. But my kids were perfectly comfortable in their beds.

What a wonderful stay. The smugglers inn is clean, comfortable and incredible value for money. Central to Newquay town centre - with everything you could need in walking distance. Make sure you include breakfast in your booking - top marks! What really makes your stay and experience a 10/10 are the hosts. They are incredibly kind, great to talk to and genuinely take pride and care in their business and your stay We would come back in a heart beat. Highly recommended. Thank you both.

The owners were really friendly and helpful. They have thought of everything you need in the rooms, it was very comfortable and breakfast was great too. My dog was made to feel very welcome too and treats (and sausages at breakfast!) were provided. It’s also in a great position, a short walk from the town centre and beaches.

Just a perfect little retreat! Owners were so friendly and accommodating. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Didn't have time to enjoy breakfast but will next time!

We went as a family of 3 (including one toddler). The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Ellen, John and their lovely daughter have thoughtfully built this place which caters to every need. Our son had a great time playing with the toys. Breakfast in the morning was prepared fresh. Would love to come back to this place. Highly recommend! Infact, would rate this 11 on 10, the hosts went above and beyond :)

Our family of five really enjoyed our few nights at the Smugglers Rest. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the beaches, bars and town centre. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast wow scrumptious. I would highly recommend and would definitely return if visiting Newquay again.

The hosts could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The room was excellent, the en-suite was new and clean. The breakfast was also good and the hosts were understanding of my food intolerances. It was easy to walk into town.

Parking could be an issue but the hosts were so helpful that it wasn't a problem.

The breakfast was superb, got to be the best I've had in a b&b by far, John & Ellen run it brilliantly, so easy to get on with, it was like a home from home, the room was clean & comfortable with a tea & coffee tray.... plus biscuits!! The dogs make you feel welcome as well. I just hope there's a vacancy here the next time i'm in Newquay!!
