Our stay at Gecko’s Rest was absolutely perfect. Amy and John were so welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs, especially at breakfast. I’m gluten free, and every option was suitable for me, which made mornings stress-free and enjoyable. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need. The location couldn’t be better, just a 3 minute walk into the main town and only 5 minutes to the beach, making it the ideal base for exploring Newquay. They had parking at the front and the rear, and we didn’t struggle for a space once. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend Gecko’s Rest to anyone visiting.

No complaints everything was amazing.

We received a warm welcome from the hosts. They helped with our bags, and every morning, they greeted us with big smiles. We felt really welcome! The other residents were also friendly, and we often had a chat during breakfast. It was like a safe space! LOCATION was perfect we could just walk down to the beach, town centre at any time, no extra cost. Parking was reserved for us, and that was a bonus. We booked a cab to at night and only paid £5. So, the location was just everything! Breakfast was so good we had variety, cooked to perfection although quite early (not a morning person). Our room was beautiful, with a sea view, small bathroom (told during booking) but cleaned every day. Spotless!

I felt restricted with the hotel rules and regulations, especially around quiet times, we felt like we were walking on eggshells, not wanting to annoy the hosts. We are not used to this! No Netflix to chill when it rains outside and no soundproofing we could hear everything...

Everything was excellent, although I never met Amy, John was very attentive to detail, making sure anything I requested for breakfast was was also attended to. From the 32” flat screen smart TV, to the on suite bathroom, with the Mira power shower, I cannot fault anything about this property.

So if I could fault it for anything, I would have to admit it doesn’t have a pool, or spa, yet I didn’t book for that, so there’s really nothing I could say against it.

Our room was lovely and very clean, bed was super comfy and we loved that the bathroom was modern. John and Amy were both great and very helpful. Breakfast every morning was delicious with a good selection to choose from. Location was pretty perfect as it was just a short walk to the town and beaches. Would 100% stay there again and recommend others to do so too.

There is nothing bad we can say about our stay here, we loved it.

Very friendly owners who went the extra mile to welcome their guests. They even apologised for the poor weather. The room was freshly renovated and very comfortable. Only a short walk to Newquay town centre. Breakfast was excellent and mainly uses local produce, the eggs were a really nice bright colour. The owners go out of their way to accommodate special dietary requirements especially if advised at the time of booking. Parking is very good, but with limited numbers so be sure to book in advance.

The weather was terrible which meant we couldn't really enjoy Newquay or in fact much of Cornwall.

The room was lovely - clean and well-equipped. The bathroom was excellent, including a great shower. Bed was very comfortable. Parking available. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were excellent, with fresh milk available to collect from a fridge downstairs. Great location too. Everything was a fairly short walk.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Amy and John are wonderful hosts. Lots of choices for the included breakfast and the food was excellent. Property is tastefully renovated and really well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The climb to the top floor is a bit of a chore for seniors, but manageable.

Amy & John where great host it was also spotlessly clean breakfast was really lovely too , they also provided us with a breakfast bag for our early journey home which was a really good idea room was very comfortable & tea & coffee facilities was always available.

We had great communication and were made to feel immediately welcome. The accommodation was spotless and our room was modern and the bed so comfy. We had a great choice for breakfast and the food was delicious. As an added bonus park immediately out the front. The accommodation was in a great location and a 5 minute walk to shops, pubs, restaurants and the beach. We will definitely be recommending to friends and family 😊

We absolutely loved our stay in Geckos Rest, John and Amy were amazing hosts. The room was absolutely spotless and in an amazing location. You literally just walk across the road down a little walkway and you're right in Newquay town. Breakfast was delicious every morning.
