The view, the view, the view 🙂. Gardens and terrace lovely. Breakfast exceptional. Staff very friendly. Clean and nicely presented.

Soap supplied originally but not replaced over our 3 night stay. Air conditioner controller not in room. When asked, we were told they take out over cooler months and we could just open balcony door. As room is advertised as air conditioned we should have had the choice to use or not. Hot flushes in your 60’s are a real thing and air conditioning helps 🙂. We would suggest a couple of complimentary bottles of water would be a good idea as well.

The woman who greeted me was very helpful and communicative. She helped me navigate finding the apartments and parking. She also responded to text messages for other questions.

I didn't know that the hotel was closed and that I would be staying in the independent apartments which are part of the hotel but there is no lobby or bar or life of a hotel. I was travelling alone and wanted a hotel experience. Otherwise, I would have booked an AirBnB to stay to stay in an apartment. So, I would have preferred that Booking be more specific about the type of facilities being offered. It was not at all mentioned when I made the booking.

my room was small (my choice for value and the purpose of this visit ~ a retreat) but very comfortable and attractive. the hotel common rooms and outdoor spaces were especially lovely, and the breakfast was both generous and delicious. all hotel staff were so pleasant and helpful with logistics and recommendations! hotel ideale is walkable from all corners of this beautiful city and very close to a bus station for transport to the train station.

We had the most wonderful stay at this family run property. We really didn't have a good understanding of where this property was located in relation to the town of Assisi when we booked so we were completely blown away by the location on arrival. It stands high up the hill with the most beautiful views of the town itself and the beautiful Umbria valley. The church bells ringing regularly in the distance created the most wonderful sense of peace and tranquility. The gardens, where we spent a lot of time, were absolutely gorgeous. Our yummy breakfast was served here each morning and we treated ourselves on 2 late afternoons of our stay with a beautiful cheese platter and a cold glass of wine taking in our spectacular outlook and reminiscing about our day. The hotel itself is a short walk to all the special sanctuaries to visit, and with the help of our wonderful host Marco, we took an amazing history tour of the town and its surrounds. We loved that the most senior member of the family tended to the gardens in the mornings himself with such pride. Assisi is a very special place, made more so by the staff and their wonderful care at the hotel. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it it to others.

It really is the ideal hotel. Located at the top of Assisi, it's views are amazing and can be admired from either your balcony window or the beautiful terrace in the gardens. The rooms are tastefully decorated and super clean. They are serviced daily too. Breakfast is absolutely amazing. The owners are helpful, friendly and really take pride in their hotel and what it offers. It's also so close to the Piazza for public transport or to take the shortcut tunnel under the carpark to get to the main square.

A wonderful atmospheric hotel in an old building, perfectly inscribed in the historical part of the city. The interior is thought out to the details and this creates a special atomosphere. A magnificent view of the window, a large and view of the old city territory is an ideal place for a photo. The bed and the perfect, properly steamed bedding deserve special admiration! Professional, inteligene and friendly staff. Great parking. Breakfast is fresh and high -quality and wonderful service. We recommend from the heart!

The view over Assisi was exceptional and easily seen from the garden and terrace. It was pleasant to chose from a variety of seating positions a place to sit and read, have a drink and just enjoy the atmosphere. Breakfast was a delight, quite a variety of tempting treats beautifully displayed on a platter. There was coffee, orange and water set out, everything you could want.

Nothing to dislike

The property had a great location. Very walkable to all the places that were on our list. Our host did everything he could to make our stay comfortable. We were very impressed with him. Very attentive to our requests. The property itself is very nice. We highly recommend.

The views from the room were incredible, everything you would love in an Italian view. Staff were friendly. The garden area was beautiful to sit in in an afternoon and have drinks. The room was spacious. Generous breakfasts.

The water pressure in the showers could have been better. The beds were very hard. The Booking.com description mentions laundry services, which were not available. We would have loved a kettle and some cups / glasses in the room.

Friendly reception. Very clean room. Amazing views of Assisi and the valley below. Superb garden and terrace. Family run hotel with a lot of attention to detail. Refrigerator in room. Beautifully prepared and presented breakfast with a choice of sweet or salty theme.

The bathroom is compact, especially the shower access. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. A small issue that detracts from the vibe at breakfast…...if you would like a second tea or coffee with breakfast there is a charge (but only 2 Euro).
