We loved our stay at the Federico. The staff welcomed us and took care of every need. Room service breakfast was delivered daily with lots of choices which you order the night before. The apt was very spacious with a large terrace. It was well furnished and clean. The location was perfect as everything is walkable in Ortigia. It was a perfect stay and would definitely come back.

Nothing not to like however the lift was out of service while we were there. This was not a problem for us but could be for anyone who can’t handle some stairs in which case I would check in advance.

The breakfast selection was extensive and plentiful. The staff are delightfully helpful and provide good local advice, particularly Emily. The rooms are clean, bright and spacious, and the hotel decoration presents well. Our stay was a good length to explore Syracuse and its hinterland.

It needs to be stressed to people booking that have a car, that under no circumstances can cars park on Ortigia island. Spaces are jealously protected for locals and parking illegally will undoubtedly result in a fine and wheel clamping. Note that the public carpark is 800 metres from the hotel, and taxis have a flat fare of 20 Euros. I'd recommend using the hotel's valet parking service at 25 Euros a day. It's cheaper, and less inconvenient that having your wheel clamped! 😁 Having breakfast in the room is not something that we are used to, and we would have preferred it in a more public environment.

Nice, spacious and comfortable room. A/C was working properly to cool temperature down as it was extremely hot when getting outside. Small boutique hotel and nicely decorated with character. Location was superb, a couple of minutes walking distance away from all key attractions of Ortigia. Very convenient is the fact that there is a coffee/snacks shop connected to the hotel. No need to go for breakfast inclusive, as you can have your breakfast at your own pace and at whichever time in this coffee shop instead.

Did not like the fact that reception is available only until 9pm. Should you arrive to check in after 8- 9pm, there is an extra charge of 20e ( 50e if after midnight). Small letters but a couple of more details for further improvement : toilet seat was broken and espresso machine available at the room I could no plug in the socket.

Great location! Very clean and well maintained. Staff were extremely helpful and helped us to arrange a transfer from the train station upon arrival. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay on Ortegia.

The street outside was quite lively further up late on into the evening on Friday or Saturday. This didn’t bother us, but might if you are travelling with children. Other than that everything about our stay was great!

Great quiet location in the old part of town just a few steps from the sea wall. Able to swim. Away from the modern part of the city. Reception when we arrived was lovely. Allowed us to check in early as room was ready. Arranged a taxi for us to train station 20 euros. About 8 minute drive. Rang us to say we’d left mobile phone on seat and driver came back to us at station. Extremely helpful in all ways. Property has a lift.

We got upgraded to a suite and the room was so beautiful and extremely spacious. Large bathroom, great location to the city, strong airco. Receptionists were extremely friendly and sweet and genuine. The elevator was broken during our stay and they helped one of us with carrying the bag upstairs.

Broken elevator and they didn't offer to offer to carry the second suitcase upstairs.

Re Federico Boutique Hotel was a lovely place to stay in Ortygia. Centrally located, it was easy to find but if you are driving it is best to take advantage of valet parking as the streets are narrow and congested. The rooms were airy and bright with a small balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the wifi was quick. Staff were lovely and spoke good English. They were very helpful in recommending great places to eat. Everywhere is close by but particularly good in the hot weather is the close proximity of one of the few swimming beaches less than 100 metres away. Breakfast was served daily to the room as the dining room was under renovation at the time of our stay.

The size of the table in the room was too small for the large breakfast that was served on three trays!!! The rooms are well appointed but a little small if travelling with luggage. Unfortunately our fridge in the room broke down and was not repaired or replaced during our stay. The staff were very apologetic but that probably was the major detraction for our stay. (As well a visit by the Italian President to Ortygia at the time which saw droves of police and secret service everywhere!! completely incidental - Re Federico Boutique Hotel is highly recommended!)

The room was very spacious clean and great for our stay the location was excellent couldn’t fault the staff or the room, the service, information and comfortability was 10/10

While we loved everything about our stay and the hotel services, one thing that couldn’t be helped was there was a lot of noise from the room above us at all hours of the night

Charming hotel with lovely spacious rooms. Staff could not have been more helpful. The location (just metres from a swimming point) could not be better. We decided not to have breakfast - but it looked good.

We used valet parking which worked very well but not for the faint hearted (the approach to the hotel is a very narrow street)

The hotel is centrally located, renovated, staff was super friendly, breakfast was in room only and it was quite good as well. The room was very spacious and even had a small kitchen as well, so it was more like a small apartment.

Only thing that did really bother me was the soundproofing of the hotel. You could literally hear everything: the guests outside the room (because the doors were glass) the outside noise and the construction drill in the neighbours building too.
