The hotel was in a quiet location, but close to some wonderful restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful which made our visit very easy. The furnishings were lovely.

Our room was quite dark and although it opened onto a small courtyard, this was not private and we were told we shouldn't leave doors open - which meant no fresh air while we were sleeping. The apartment opened onto the street, and though this was quiet the glass doors let in a lot of light during the night - blackout curtains would have helped. It was a large apartment, but the bathroom was quite small.

Massimo the host was superb. Welcomed us and provided help if required at any time. The place is well situated and good value for money. The appartement is large and is on two floors, with the bedrooms above.

The two bedrooms are alogside eachother with a curtain in front of each, something I did not notice in the details (they were there). They are served by one bathroom in one of the bedrooms. This was fine for us as we were family, but couples travelling together may not like the lack of privacy.

Prompt, friendly and helpful communication before arrival. The suite is very spacious with a really comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning and we loved the private terrace and roof-top sunbathing area, overlooking the sea. MASSIMO AND ANGELO are the biggest assets to this business, by far. They manage to afford their guests privacy whilst providing exceptionally good customer service. We were given lots of useful information prior to arrival and when we reached the hotel. The hotel organised our taxis from and to the airport- which was a great help.

The staff are so warm, welcoming, and helpful, they guided us every step of the way to secure our vehicle and luggage and to get us settled in our beautiful suite with terrace. The property is hidden in a sweet residential sweet so we felt the sights and sounds of Ortigia authentically. The views from the rooftop terrace are unmatched, the breakfast vouchers at the sweet and delicious Violetta Bakery made our mornings nourishing and delicious, and the location is perfection for seeing all of the island. Massimiliano is a fantastic host and a great resource to get recommendations for where to eat and what to do. He is very kind and personable. The place is in front of the sea: after a whole day in the city sightseeing, to recover from the heat diving in the fresh water and possibly walk back to your room and have a shower is unvaluable. Very nice experience!

My wife and I spent a full week at this very elegant Palazzo style boutique hotel. We stayed in a sea view suite which was luxurious and very spacious with spectacular views of the sea which was literally just across the road. There is also a large rooftop terrace with showers and sun loungers. The location was perfect, close to the heart of Ortigia with many bars and restaurants just around the corner. A very big thank you to all the staff, especially Massimo who made our stay so wonderful. Massimo was on hand 24/7 and nothing was too much trouble. He helped us with restaurant bookings and taxis. He gave us invaluable information and advice. We 100% recommend staying here and are already planning our next visit there.

Cleaning service was not available some days. The hotel description did not make it clear that breakfast is offsite. The old front door was beautiful but the lock was very tricky to open.

The apartment was great. Massimo was a fund of information and Angelo the perfect gent. Prime position in Ortigia with great local bathing. Lots of good restaurants around. A very short walk from the Duomo piazza. Excellente!!!!!

The TV could be in a better position and a multilingual TV package would be a good idea!!!!

Massimo was an outstanding host and made us feel welcome, as well as providing helpful insights into Ortigia. This added to our experience. As Ortigia is quite small there are no bad areas to stay per se, but this was in the quieter part of the island.

No complaints of any significance to report

A superb place to stay, this beautiful hotel is in a tranquil location just a few streets away from all the sites of Ortigia, and right by the water. The staff were exceptional: so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and Massimo's kind advice and restaurant recommendations were the highlight of our stay. The room was gorgeous and spotlessly clean, with an extremely comfortable bed. The hotel is right by the sea, and we had a wonderful view of it from our window. The breakfast (served in the hotel in a lovely little courtyard) was excellent – the pistachio cornetti were especially delicious! We were so happy to have chosen Ortigia Royal Suites, and would do so again.
