I can't imagine a better location and place to stay! The apartments/rooms are nestled within carefully renovated buildings in the old city. Everything is restored with great attention to detail and is just beautiful. We had four rooms in total, as we were a bigger group, and all of the rooms were great. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, and we could check in early as some of the rooms were ready. The rooms were quiet, AC worked, equippement in the kitchen great and the toiletteries were nice. Communication ahead of our stay was perfect, explaining where to park and registering our number plates, so we could enter the old city with our rented cars Of course, parking is a few minutes walk away; this is part of living in the absolute heart of Siracusa. But shopping, eating, drinking, culture- right in front of your doorstep. The property made some suggestions on where to eat, and all the recommendations were great. Overall, we regretted that we only stayed two nights, already when checking in we were sad that we had to leave....

The property was absolutely stunning. If you want to stay somewhere that matches Italys beautiful, old architecture, while having modern amenities on the inside, this is perfect. Everything was SUPER clean when we arrived and the staff would always message you when you needed cleaning. The location was perfect when it comes to exploring Ortigia as well. It wasn’t loud, yet you were very close to everything! We stayed here in 3 different rooms for our family vacation and it was perfect being so close yet having separate rooms.

The below are things that I don’t think the property has control over, but just good to know beforehand! I wouldn’t let them stop you from booking. - The water smells really bad when you use it. Like sulfur. Since we have a well back home, when it acts up, it smells like this and then gets back flushed. So it wasn’t bad for us. Luckily, it only smells when you wash your hands and use the toilets, NOT the showers. - The bathroom pipes are super old so you can’t flush toilet paper. They give you a garbage can and when you’re done wiping you put it in the garbage can. We definitely were not used to this, but since the staff comes every so often we never experienced anything bad about this.

Nice spacious room, with a bathroom, small kitchen and access to a courtyard with four chairs. Location is very wuiet and perfect on the island. We loved it.

Bit noisy airconditioning. Keep in mind that if you are arriving by car, that the small street where the appartment is in is not accesible by car. First make sue that you have parking arranged before you arriving, because even stopping for 15 mins is not a given.

Arriving by car was extremely difficult + stressful. Located in a narrow pedestrian alley, we could not have found the property before parking, so would have appreciated being told in advance to go directly to the parking garage which the property had booked for us in a vehicle-accessible street. The apartment was spacious, but all the kitchen gear was irrelevant to our requirements / self-catering vibe not in sync with our vision for this trip. The property has some lovely 'public' rooms, which we were shown on departure - it was not clear that we could use them during our stay.

Love the apartment complex the sitting area that is for the entire property was beautiful an old Jewish safe house. Lots of nooks to take photos . The beds were large but firm. The owner was the sweetest most helpful young lady I have encountered the entire trip! The communication was outstanding! She came and met me at 12 am to help me find parking and take my luggage down the ally’s to find thd beautiful apartment and courtyard. I parked my car luckily on a good spot easily accessible to the apartment however it did have dents and scratches the next morning all around where people banged into it. The parking garage is probably a better option. We were lucky to find a none ZTL parking space but I don’t suggest parking on the street. Lovely island in Ortigia lots of walking so don’t take many items.

Perfect location, large space, lovely furnishings.

Most Italian bathrooms lack any place to put your personal items. No space to keep more than a tube a toothpaste (a small one) near the sink. What do people do with lotions, makeup remover, hair brushes, etc.? It’s always an annoyance and a mystery to me. But it’s all throughout Italy so someone must have figured this out. Not me, not yet.

Excellent decor and new fittings and furniture very good quality . Great customer service , check in and assistance finding excellent nearby parking .

Room probably needed a little more light at night- found lighting too dim. Outside courtyard was so beautiful and well presented but may have a problem with the council sewerage system as it was a bit smelly. This may be a general issue with the area though .

Very convenient location in Ortigia, off a quaint street. The apartment is very spacious, stylishly decorated (as was the common area) and the staff were very responsive and helpful with recommendations and logistics.

The bathroom had a bit of an odd sewer water smell? Unsure if this is an infrastructure issue since Ortigia plumbing in general is not great. Since you're throwing a lot of toilet paper in the trash, also good to know there's no daily housekeeping .

The apartment and stay was perfect. The apartment is clean, quiet, stylish, and very comfortable; the bed is huge! The hostess was helpful and friendly, and always available either in person or on the phone. The apartment is well located in Ortigia, in a very quiet street, but not far from any of the amenities. This is an absolute gem and if you're visiting Ortigia, this is the place to stay!

No criticisms at all. My only concern is that the hot water pipe in the shower is VERY hot, and it'd be quite easy to scald yourself on it.

The apartments are in a perfect location in the heart of Ortigia, set in a lovely quiet side street. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, very clean and well kept. The decor throughout was beautiful and it felt very welcoming and luxurious to return after a day exploring the town. The stand out for us was the hospitality of the hosts - Giulia and her team were so friendly and helpful. We found the communication on WhatsApp to be very useful and it made our stay truly exceptional. The recommendations were excellent and they even arranged a taxi and a booking at a local vineyard for us. Overall we had a very special holiday in Ortigia and would highly recommend. We would return to Isabella di Castiglia Apartments without hesitation!
