Great location on the small island of Ortigia. Staff was very helpful. If you have never been to Ortigia before the hotel can be hard to find. The staff went out of their way to help us locate the hotel and added our rental car license plate to the ZTL zone. Rooms were big and clean and the building itself was gorgeous. Just 1 block away from the sea where you can swim, blocks away from restaurants, 10 minute walk away from most everything else on the island. Breakfast was great with a nice spread of fruit, pastries, beverages, etc. Perfect place! Would definitely recommend.

Only one niggle: I was happily surprised to discover a washing machine in the room. However it smelled horribly of mold so my excitement was quickly extinguished.

Annamaria and her crew were brilliant communicators. Annamaria especially, always followed through with our queries. The location was absolutely beautiful and centrally located to all amenities and sites of interest. We took the offer of the hotel’s car valet which worked brilliantly for us. The room was very large and comfortable with a kitchenette and best of all, it had a balcony which my husband loved. The hotel itself was spectacular and authentically renovated. The daily breakfast was delicious and plentiful and Tony, responsible for the breakfast, was charming and friendly. We simply LOVED our stay at Lanterne Magiche and we plan to recommend this hotel to friends.

Nothing at all … everything was perfectly executed by the friendly staff.

We stayed here only one night but felt like home. Special thanks to Anamaria at recpetion desl who helped with our reservation, gave wonderful recommendations and orientation of Ortigia. The suite was exactly as on photograph, spacious, clean with free toiletries and towels provided. There was even charming balcony looking to the quiet street. Next day we enjoyed wonderful breakfast and we were able to leave the luggage next to reception desk before leaving to next destination. We hope we will come back soon!

Location - just in Ortigia Island of Siracusa. Large comfortable apartments, pretty good beds. Rooms were impeccably clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. I like morning walk along the sea to parking place (Talete) which is about 10-13 min from the hotel. All major sights of Ortigia as well as restaurants are in walking distance.

The only negative issue I see is lack of wardrobes or spaces for guests belongings and textiles. It is not easy to find hotel for the first time - but this is not negative, it is just matter of fact - Ortigia is labyrinth of little streets and lanes.

The room was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed and more. There was even a washing machine for our clothes.

We loved the location and the spaciousness.

The location is great, on a quiet pedestrian street. It was easy to stop the car nearby for loading and unloading and valet parking was available as well as easy off-site self parking a short walk away. The whole island of Ortigia is easily walkable so the car would only be required for excursions off the island. We were two couples and one had a smaller room with a lovely balcony with a sea view, the other a large room with kitchenette and clothes washer. Both rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with many choices. There is also a roof terrace with lounge chairs that anyone in the hotel can access. Access to swimming in the sea off the rocks one block from the hotel was a plus!

Hot water could "pause" during the morning shower rush before breakfast but returned soon after.

The location was wonderful, on a quiet alley in the old Jewish quarter, walking distance from all Ortigia sights, restaurants and a block from the water (lungomare). The hotel was in an old historic building that had been restored in a tasteful and subdued manner, quite charming. The room came with a kitchen, living area so we didn’t feel cramped. It was very quiet at night. There were many choices of sweet and savory foods for breakfast and everything was delicious!

The bathroom could use be refurbished, the shower in particular, old tiles and stained grout, hard to get the water temperature right. We paid for sea views, but it was really just a glimpse in between a side alley, as the hotel is not on the water. I wouldn’t request that again, but would return to the hotel and recommend it to my friends.

What an amazing place to stay for our holiday in Ortigia. The location was perfect for us as it was on a pedestrian only street meaning it was extremely quiet. Our apartment was great and the kitchen was great for when we didn't want to go out. Our balcony wasn't huge however there was a wonderful rooftop terrace with a sea view that we sat on every night before going out to eat. It has chairs and sunbeds. The staff were very friendly and always there to answer questions and give recommendations, especially about places to eat. The self-serving breakfast was fantastic with a huge choice of food and plenty of places to sit. We would definitely recommend staying here for a peaceful break in Ortigia.

It would be good if there was an extra table on rooftop terrace if more than one group would like to sit out in the evening.

A beautiful old building decorated tastefully with soft neutrals. The apartment had plenty of room and there are a few shared balconies with views of the Mediterranean. The staff is exceptional! They were very helpful with restaurants and taxis, etc. All spoke some English. Good breakfast. I especially enjoyed the cappuccino! It’s a very peaceful and quiet location despite being in walking distance of all the shops, the market, and sites of Ortigia.

The shower was small and the hot water was volatile but minor compared to the good things.

It was immaculately clean. Massive bed, and a kitchen in the room with a fridge. TV had English channels and you could connect to Netflix plenty of space and sun terraces. Breakfast was excellent and a microwave would be good to warm up the hot items as these were cold. Great location.

There was no kettle in the room and had to microwave the water. The shower was awkwardly positioned which meant that you could shower properly. Hit breakfast items were cold, and no microwave to reheat.
