This is a very special place to stay. The room was actually a suite of three rooms - main room with huge, very comfortable bed, anteroom with desk and sofa, and dressing room with shower and toilet – all within a 16th-century palazzo. The main room looked out into the courtyard, which boasted a huge Renaissance statue of Hercules, and you could step straight out into the courtyard and take a turn in the garden at the back. The staff were exceedingly helpful, and the breakfast was delightful and plentiful, served in a quiet room on the floor above. Quiet and atmospheric, the guesthouse is also very conveniently located for a visit to the Scrovegni chapel while still being well placed for other attractions in the historical centre.

Very spacious rooms. A few rooms in the main building are period rooms. The others are recently built and tasteful with kitchenette. Very quiet and peaceful at night thanks to the beautiful courtyard and pedestrian old city center. Exceptional breakfast and superbly courteous and helpful staff.

Everything was perfect. I would have liked to know that our room was recently built rather than a period room.

The palazzo has a rich history and is beautifully decorated. A huge, impressive statue of Hercules (at least I think it is Hercules) dominates the courtyard. The owners and staff were kind and helpful and did their best to see that I was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious—the food was very high quality and best of all, the baked goods were homemade. The location is convenient to both the city and the train station. I would stay here again.

I booked here because from the photo, I thought I would be staying on ground level. It turned out that my room was three stories up. For some reason, I had a very hard time finding my way to my room (I usually have a very good sense of direction) and the code pad for entry was in the shadows, so I did not see it. Interior signage would be very helpful—other businesses were marked. Most frustrating the first day was the shower in my room. Water from the sink backed up into the shower and I was standing in this when I showered. This was not at all pleasant. I reported the problem and there was nothing that would be done that night. However, my room was changed the next day, thanks to a cancellation—and I had absolutely no problem with the second room.

beautiful building - very nice garden - spacious and beautiful rooms - the big statue in the garden was just WOW perfectly located - staff is nice and friendly, but not always available in the reception. I asked for a taxi, the guy who checked me in told me he was gonna book it for me, and he forgot.

Our stay there was exceptional, the food, the location, the amenities, the atmosphere and not forgetting the staff were incredible went way beyond their responsibilities to assist and make us feel welcomed. A big Thank you to the team there all were amazing 👏

Very quiet. At walking distance to sights, restaurants and shopping.

Roads around it all under reconstruction. Very difficult to get there. Best to park in parking at 5 minute walk.

The breakfast room was beautifully prepared with a good selection of fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, tarts, and choice of eggs. The location was quiet and had a large garden with seating. The air conditioning worked very well. They thought of everything one would need.

There were communication problems at times as the desk is not always staffed.

To say our accommodations at the Palazzo Mantua Benavides exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. While, admittedly, we planned for this stay to be special and opted for one of their larger room options, we never quite expected the spaciousness, beauty, quality and thoughtfulness encountered here. From our email exchanges with Gioconda and others there, to our warm greeting by Giovanni, to our marvelous cooked-from-scratch breakfasts by Conti, our visit at Palazzo Mantua Benavides greatly enhanced our Padua stay. A historic Palazzo on the outside, the accommodations provide every modern convenience that you might desire. Located steps from main city attractions, a 10 minute walk to the train station, near shops, restaurants and cafes, it’s also away from traffic on a quiet side street. Small in size, it packs a memorable holiday punch.

Palatial living in a central location. Fabulous preservation of history. Great staff. Breakfast was delicious, varied and kept me going until dinner.

Beautiful spacious suite with incredibly comfortable bed. Location is fantastic literally around the corner from Scrovegni chapel. Car parking area as well which is a premium in central Padua. We loved it.
