We loved the location, hidden amongst the trees and by the river. A perfect weekend getaway! A charming historic little boutique hotel, right by the castle; lovely for an evening walk by the river. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was quite delightful, right in the attic, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, fresh bread and coffee and eggs to order. A perfect location for bike riding or enjoying nature. The little restaurant next door was the only option in the evening for dinner, and we were lucky to get in without a resveration, as it was already quire full. The meal there was superb!
Everything was perfect!

We loved the countryside location and yet it is so close to Utrecht city centre (30mins by bicycle). Very eccentric collections in the house which makes for interesting viewing! Beautiful garden at the back of the property. Two bicycles were ready for us and we cycled everywhere (even Kasteel De Haar). Belle Bistro were also a great restaurant next door. Lovely stay for my wife and I who needed a breather from the cities.
The only thing that wasn't great was the paint smell at the corridor near our room where the railings were freshly painted. But we know it has to be done.

Very quirky guesthouse, filled with antiques and collectables (the owner is a TV antiques expert in the Netherlands). My single room was small but beautifully decorated, with a window facing the canal. It was peaceful location and I slept well. There's a local restaurant just across from the hotel, so dinner was easy. Breakfast was fruit salad, yoghurt, pastries, ham, cheese, smoked salmon, eggs and bacon - amazing. Staff were super friendly and proud of the place they worked. They have two (large) bicycles for rent and the journey into central Utrecht took about 20 mins on a bike.
A little complicated getting checkin details via booking.com - it worked much better the second visit (I stayed Thursday and Saturday and went to a party the night in between!) when she just sent me an SMS.

The room was beautiful, spacious and had a nice view to the garden. It was very quiet, we could not hear what was happening in the other room or outside the property.
The breakfast was a little bit basic. There is plenty of food though, that's not the issue. We stayed at the property in the past and were able to order a warm option (eggs, the way we preferred) but that was not proposed this time. The price remained the same though.

Characterful hotel furnished with antiques and collectables with generously-sized rooms and a private garden. The location overlooking a peaceful stretch of the river just a 15-20 minutes rural bike ride from the centre of the Utrecht made it ideal for reaching the city. Zuylen Castle/Slot Zuylen is just behind it. Friendly and helpful staff. Secure bike storage and parking on site.
It is understandable that in an old building there is no air-conditioning but in hot weather it felt risky to open the ground floor windows for ventilation since they only opened at the bottom, which is insecure. Some noise from the busy restaurant next door, but again that is not the responsibility of the hotel.

the property is located in a very quiet and beautiful area. the hotel is filled with very fun and quirky antiques. the breakfast was wonderful. by far the best part of the whole experience was the amazing attention given to us by Mabel who was our hostess. she made everything run smoothly with care and warmth.

The accommodation is located at a picturesque spot next to the river Vecht in the small village of Oud-Zuilen. It’s only a 15 minute bus or bike ride to Utrecht Central, so it’s a perfect starting point for relaxing close to nature, but also for a city trip. The individual decoration of each room and the remarkable collection of antique artworks are truly one of a kind and provide an cozy atmosphere through the whole stay. At 17,50€/person the breakfast truly isn’t cheap, but with fresh fruits, eggs, different kind of breads, etc. it’s way more than I would have ever asked for and an experience that definitely should be tried while staying here. Last but not least, the hostess can fill a room with her warmness and friendliness, which is the reason why this was one of these few stays where you just feel „at home“. We were extremely happy with our three nights stay!

Everything! Without a doubt one of the best places I’ve stayed at - ever. The unique character of this B & B has to be experienced in person. Such a find is rare and I am grateful that I found it, and will (fingers crossed) hopefully have a chance to return. Can’t thank Mabel enough for her kindness on the day of arrival and throughout my too short a stay. Her food, our chats and helpfulness cannot be underestimated, superb. Thank you Mabel, you made me feel so welcome and like I’ve made a new friend. Jill

Loved the location, and the feel of the place. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Small point and it may just be me, but the pillows were so big I couldn't sleep well. No alternatives (cushions or anything) in the room. The breakfast was fine, but it would have been helpful (for non Dutch speakers) if we knew what was being offered for the cooked breakfast as we just had to guess.

This hotel is an old manor house with lots of eclectic and tasteful furnishings. One of our two rooms was on the first floor and, down a flight of stairs, had an attached "Speakeasy" room with a sitting area. A bit musty since it was below ground but had a great ambiance. However, we decided to drink our wine (they have bottles available for purchase on the honor system but we had a bottle that we had brought with us) in the quaint little garden behind the house before heading out to dinner. The house is about 10 minutes from the Utrecht city center but the drive is easy.
