We had an excellent stay at uShaka Manor – located in a lively neighbourhood full of great restaurants and shopping options just around the corner. 🍽️🛍️ The staff were incredibly friendly, and the breakfast was truly outstanding – a wide selection and everything was fresh and delicious. 🍳🥐☕ Our room was spacious and spotless, with both a shower and a bathtub, which was a lovely touch after long travel days. 🛁✨ There’s also a beautiful swimming pool on site (although we didn’t have time to use it). At the reception, we found plenty of brochures and tips about what to do in the area – super helpful for first-time visitors! 📍🗺️

Would suggest having an iron and ironing board in the rooms. It took a while for us to be assisted with ironing. Secondly, have different menus for breakfast not the same thing everyday. Keeping our food in the fridge was a mission. We had to beg the staff and then we were given the timeline of when to collect our food. Lastly, switching off the outside lounge lights at 10pm is too early as guests would still want to chill there - it’s a very nice and relaxing place to hang out.

The location was great. The area is safe and pleasant - and walking distance from the beach. A great spot for a morning run. I loved the breakfeast - great start to my mornings. The staff was very friendly and helpful - and the rooms were kept very neat at all times. I highly recommend Ushaka Manor Guest House. :)

Breakfast they could have a few extra options on the cooked breakfast. (mushroom, hashbrowns, omelet). I found the location very convenient, but I used Waza App for direction & it took me to Ridge Road. Not Sure if you can request the App to change the address.

The shower leaks through and under the shower door, onto the bathroom floor. So, the shower floor mat is soaked when you get out. The shower head also sprays out the door when getting in and out of the shower. The Jungle Gym's one guardrail has come loose. I didn't need the Aircon, but I tested it and don't think the heater works

We stayed in Lion Room (upper floor) Rooms are lovely and very clean, staff are all lovely and very helpful. Best hairdryer ever! 🙂 Great location easy walk to the village where there’s lots of life, shops, bars, restaurants the beach and lighthouse.

The breakfast could be better but was ok, not much to do if you don’t go out to the village nobody seems to use the bar. Would be great if they did Sandwiches/snacks at lunchtime around the pool! Would be good to have torches/lanterns in the rooms for when the electricity goes off (load shedding) we were totally in the dark one evening for 4 hrs.

Great location with just a short walk to all of the nearby attractions. Shops, restaurants, grocery stores and the beach. Also only a short cab ride to Gateway Mall which is huge. The staff were very kind and helpful. Thank you Elaine, you were great. The facilities were spotlessly clean. We had an ocean view room which was big and had a huge shared balcony. We also had a large jetted bathtub in our bathroom, not sure if all the rooms have one. We were forewarned about the monkeys. Fun to see them but as we were advised, keep your door closed as they definitely try to get into your room.

The number of keys that you need to carry around is a little excessive in this day and age of card keys. Bathroom light did not have a light switch but was on a motion sensor. Wife kept falling asleep in the tub as the light kept going off. Being given several options for breakfast was nice. If there was a natural plain yoghurt to go with the fresh fruit salad it would have made it even better.

Everything was perfect

One of the cleaners opened the door while I was sleeping yey she could feel that there was a key by the door and opened the door anyway. She said she opened cause she wanted to clean, how do you put in the key even though you can hear that there is a key in the door and still proceed to open the door regardless. Can they make do not disturb tags at least cause it was an unsettling experience. The safe did not work either.

Great location close to Umhlanga main beach and amenities but also secluded and private. Lovely sea view. Clean and comfortable room with a nice bath tub. Full stocked bar fridge with complimentary sherry. Staff were very responsive to our needs. Breakfast was very filling.

Breakfast service good be improved, the place was not that busy but service was still slow. Also, sea view guests don't have a remote control to the main property, instead they need to buzz into reception.

The whole home is a home away from home - very comfortable, very clean, amazing staff and the breakfasts are delicious with a good variety of options of food. They have invested alot in making the guests feel very comfortable. If you can afford the small upgrade in your room, the sea-views are just amazing!

We didn't find there to be sufficient plug points in our room. One thing I would recommend is to extend the breakfast on the weekends, so guests can sleep in a bit. Kitchen closing at 09:30 is very early.

I honestly had a great experience staying here at Ushaka Mamor Guest House it's just unfortunate that we had to leave so soon. I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like to stay in Umhlanga and live like royalty The staff was kind and served us to they best of ability Ushaka Manor Guesthouse deserves more than 10 stars
