We had a fantastic stay at this charming little hotel in the heart of the Dolomites. It struck the perfect balance between comfort and informality — relaxed, friendly, and thoughtfully run. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well-kept, with just the right touches to make you feel at home after a day out in the mountains. We loved the self-serve breakfast — fresh, generous, and with plenty of choice to fuel a day of hiking. The honesty bar was a lovely touch too, adding to the relaxed, trust-based atmosphere that made our stay feel so personal. The staff were warm and welcoming without being overbearing, always happy to help with advice or a chat. It's clear they genuinely care about their guests.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alpstat - Chalet Hotel Hartmann! The staff were very friendly — especially the woman who put all of the breakfast together. The beds were so comfortable and the main spaces and rooms were nicely decorated and designed. Very cute spot to stay in Ortisei! The breakfast was phenomenal — a spread like you would not believe, anything you wanted. It is located within walking distance of many small shops and restaurants and only 15 minutes to any of the cable cars to hike the mountains. We highly recommend Alpstay - Chalet Hotel Hartmann to everyone!

It was all wonderful — absolutely no complaints.

Hotel Hartmann was everything we had hoped for. The staff made our stay comfortable and relaxing. The room was clean, well equipped with anything we might needed and the view from our room was just spectacular (photos attached). The breakfast was great with a nice variety of hot and cold food and the sweets left during the day to take was really nice. The honesty bar was a great addition, being able to grab any drinks you want at any time and to just write down what you take. The location was also perfect, nice and quiet and was a short walk down into the main square and to the seceda cable car. We were also given a free bus pass to use during our stay to get around which was super helpful.

Absolutely nothing! We loved our stay.

Spacious room, nice breakfast, comfortable common areas and fun self-service bar. Pretty great location with easy walk to chair lifts/gondolas to Alpe Di Suisi and Seceda. Hotel is also very close to the bus line and a free pass for our stay came in useful several times. We were very, very happy with our stay overall.

We were looking forward to some of the spa-like features (sauna). We found them in good working condition, but we didn't find any temperature controls or ways to turn the relaxation music off. It felt a bit 'gimmicky' compared to the other features of the hotel. Other Hotel Hartmanns offer a guest laundry. We would have wanted to book a hotel with one in the future after our multi-day hike before staying here.

In a beautiful, quiet place, with a good view of the mountains and the city (from our room). Quiet, small hotel. We didn't use the SPA area (we didn't have enough time). Receptionist very kindly explained everything, including the options in the city (where to eat, it was very tasty). Convenient parking (no additional charge). Possibility to make a tea, coffee or a cocktail in the shared kitchen area, but this is for a separate fee (thanks for receptionist hospitality and not charging for tea).

The only recommendation is to include tea and coffee in the hotel price. Maybe it might be challenging for some to walk to the center and back, it didn't bother us.

Fantastic place for a short or long stay-the hotel is very well designed, everything feels brand new; the room is spacious, has a king size, super comfy bed; bathroom has a nice jacuzzi bathtub. The highlights of the hotel for me were the super friendly (and patient!) staff and the amazing breakfast-one of the best I had in the mountains, w/local organic locally sourced produce. The complimentary shuttle bus takes you to 2-3 closest slopes, while public ski bus stops 2-5 minutes from the hotel (depending on the direction) and takes you to Selva Val Gardena and Ortisei city center. I also highly recommend the walk to Ortisei centre which is 15 mins away, along the river. A nice (yet basic) spa is in the basement, w wet and dry sauna, a fireplace and relaxing area. The staff gave me a lovely take-home, hand-made gift which I loved-very thoughtful!

The dry sauna was not heated/hot enough to my standard. A bistro/dinner option would have been nice -perhaps something to add in the future.

The accomodation was great - beautiful views, the included breakfast was delicious and well-stocked, and the access to the sauna and steam room were also a massive bonus (especially during ski season!). The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and helped to arrange delivery of one of our forgotten items. It's located about a 15-20min walk from the centre of Ortisei, but we were given free bus passes to travel around the area (bus stop is opposite the accom), and parking was easy in Ortisei if we wanted to drive.

We had an amazing few nights in Alpstay and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff there. The beds were very comfortable and guaranteed a good nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning had plenty of options to choose from and food was very fresh Chiara on the front desk was exceptional and really made our time special - we really appreciate all her help Overall a wonderful hotel that we will highly recommend

Beautifully updated B&B. Spa facilities including sauna, steam room available. Amazing breakfast spread. Afternoon snacks also available and self serve bar/coffee available as well. Walking distance to city center with gondola or with a bus stop just outside the hotel.

Breakfast selection was amazing and perhaps the highlight of our entire 2 weeks trip! The room was also quite comfortable for two people and there is plenty of parking space even when coming back late at night. Location of the property is also great as it’s only a 5 minute drive away from both the Mont Seuc cable car (to Alpe di Siusi) and the cable car to Seceda.

There was no electric kettle in the room and the property does not have laundry facilities - the nearest laundry facility being at the Smart Hotel Saslong nearby (also under the Hartmann hotels group) which was quite costly and had a long queue. Would recommend using the commerical laundry facilities in the city centre instead as our clothes were still damp even after using the dryer for an hour. However…. A blessing in disguise from discovering Smart Hotel Saslong is the fact that they have a drinking water fountain which negated our need for an electric kettle!
