The only thing that exceeded Hotel Velvet Plaza, was the staff. The room was perfect and the staff was always accommodating. It's in a very safe, upscale area, centrally located to everything, either walking or a short Uber ride. Not only would I recommend staying here, on my next trip to Guadalajara, I'll definitely stay here again.

On Sundays the street in front of the hotel is closed to motor vehicles from 8:00-2:00 pm and it is a non stop flow of people running, walking, biking and roller blading. It would be great if the hotel had bikes to use, or rent.

I like the fact that it is close to the historic center, the staff is very attentive the bed mattress is comfortable and the best is the hot shower because the pressure and big nozzle were like rain in my bath. The breakfast buffet is really good, from the coffee to the green juice and especially they make me a really good omelet but you can get your eggs cooked to your taste. The outside noise from the train ,dogs, and general traffic, the curtain does not keep light out, the surrounding buildings and next to this place there is an empty lot with trash.

My husband is from Guadalajara and we have made it a habit to stay here when in town visiting family and friends. We love the location, the staff, and the comfort. Comfy beds, quiet location, air conditioning and very friendly and attentive staff!

I can't think of much that could be better. There are no mini fridges in the room and the last time I was there there was no ladder to get into the pool, but these are minor things. We will definitely stay again.

Second time this year staying at Hotel Velvet and everything was very good like the first time. The best is that the hotel is very modern (it feels new); the room, hallways, and lobby were very clean; no bad or irritating odors or smells in the room or hallways; sheets and towels were of good quality; the room size is good; nice decor and furniture in the room; a good safe in the room; large window for natural light; good light options in the room to provide a bright or dim experience; big smart TV in the room; very comfortable bed and pillows; excellent shower - water pressure and hot water availability; friendly and professional front desk/reception staff; quick and easy check-in and check-out; good location for easy walking and public transportation; and all this at a very good price. It offers a much better experience and better value than the hotels in the centro historico. An excellent overall experience and our favorite hotel in Guadalajara!

The views and the rooms are amazing, but more importantly the staff. This hotel staff is the very best every one of them are extremely accommodating and they work almost every single day so you see the same familiar smiling faces. Can not recommend this hotel enough to anyone visiting GDL. So many walkable restaurants close by and not loud at night.

I was really impressed with this hotel. The staff, location, room and room service were perfect.

The manager for the restaurant on our final day for breakfast ( Friday morning) was rude to the workers and micromanaging them to the point that you could feel the difference in the atmosphere. All other days when we didn't see him, staff was smiling, attentive, and the dining experience was really pleasant. The final day, it was like a cloud came down on everyone. They were still attentive, but you could tell something was off. Whoever that manager in the restaurant was on Friday the 6th in morning is toxic to your working environment.

The beds and pillows are super comfy and clean, the shower is loud but loads of water comes out and it's very easy and simple to use. The location is great, it's an easily accessible entrance as well and has several restaurants within walking distance, as well as a mall and a pharmacy. The service is phenomenal, I had a few issues that were fixed immediately after I reported them. The lighting is also great, I've been to hotels that provide very little lighting. It can also be switched on or off from pretty much every button, which is very convenient. There are also outlets right next to the bed. The nightstands and closet have plenty of room as well, and you always get two bottles of water every time they clean your room.

The toilet paper is the kind that leaves residue. I had quite a bit of trouble with the efficacy of the AC, especially when the light went out due to heavy rain. And the toilet had a crack that pinched me when I first arrived and drew blood, but they fixed it quickly.

This hotel is an absolute gem in one of the best areas of central Guadalajara. The staff is the best. The rooms have everything, (including a bath mat). There is free parking in a city, where this is an absolute luxury, And the prices are unbelievably reasonable. If you are staying in Guadalajara, don't overlook this hotel. Youn won't regret staying there.

The location was easy to find and close to many restaurants. A mall next door with bowling and Cinépolis. The rooftop pool was nice and clean. Room service is available until 4am. Beds were comfortable. Shower and water pressure were good.

The parking can be limited and tight, depending on the time you arrive but they valet and can park your car for you if needed. The pool was perhaps too chlorinated (skin felt it) so we didn’t last too long in the pool. Neighborhood is a little gritty but still felt safe.

The hotel was very easy to find, it had a parking lot for you to arrive in your car, the room was clean and nice, even though it's a little small but every worked as expected. We couldn't use the pool due to the weather but the steam room was nice.

I found everything right in place. Only they charged me for an ice bucket and they didn't mention a price when I ordered it, no big deal though.
