The service is excellent, the warm atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The restaurant Michelin star is fantastic. The mattress is very comfortable, and the location is great, especially for food lovers it’s a real gem!

The bathrooms need renovation: water drains poorly, the flush button doesn’t work properly, the mirror is cracked, and there’s no space for toiletries. While these imperfections add a certain charm to the hotel’s character, I would still prefer more comfort in the restroom area. Soundproofing could also be improved, as hallway and neighboring room noises are noticeable. If you’re not sensitive to noise, this may not be a major concern.

The staff at Shalai is extremely welcoming and friendly. The reception checked us into our room and showed us where everything was located. We were able to park directly out front when we arrived, but later that evening (after our excursion) we parked in public parking less than 50 m. away. The common areas of the hotel are very nice. Plenty of towels, a nice robe and flip flops were a nice touch. We had a room with a balcony. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff at breakfast was welcoming and lovely.

We weren't happy with our room as we were given an Accessible Room. The shower was small and was enclosed in a shower curtain which blew in toward the person showering and the water went outside the confines of the shower. The toilet was too high.

Staff were super friendly, helpful and attentive. Took a real interest in our stay, arranged excursions and taxis. Luigui especially. The somelliers really knew their stuff. The Michelin star restaurant was amazing and the spa and massage was fantastic.

The room was big, clean and comfortable, but we had a roof room with no windows other than roof windows, so we had no view or balcony and it felt a little claustrophobic at times.

The room was spacious and we'll appointed except for one or two minor details not worth mentioning. The food was so over-the-top Michelin style that I cannot complain, only that it is not for everyone. Interior balcony provided a good spot for a quiet lunch of food bought at local market

The bar is far too small, and the seating could be improved. The prices seem much too high for a one star place. I have eaten more reasonably at several three star establishments.. Also,, the two flights of stairs after such a gargantuan meal are hard to climb for anyone of advanced age.

Breakfast was amazing, so much choice and quality. Too much for 1 person. Staff knew every guest, couldn't do enough to help with the stay and very friendly.

Only full tasting menus available and as someone who doesn't eat alot didn't want several courses. Didn't eat at hotel for lunch or evening.

Bed was not a 'luxury' item.. needs to be improved. The price of your experience is not for the faint hearted.. but essentially this is the best hotel in the area and you will pay for this Michelin Star experience.

Great room in junior suite. Make you feel special. Restaurant and food in general is spectacular. Beautiful place to spend a romantic night before or after go to Etna.

Just take into account it's a very tiny village. So all interest is in Etna, some binaries and this hotel...

It was very minimalist with no artwork or colour in the rooms or hallways A small garden to sit in would have been lovely

Easy to park, prepared diet appropriate items for breakfast. Also booked a session in the spa and a massage which was really great.

Shower got the bathroom floor quite wet
