Absolutely loved our stay here. We were greeted by the most friendly and welcoming person I have ever met that takes the time to get to know all the guests. The room was spotlessly clean and decorated beautifully. It had everything we needed for our stay and more, but if it didn't, I felt like you need only ask, and it would be provided. It was well stocked with various hot drinks and biscuits. The rest of the house was decorated beautifully too. Extra drinks and books were available in the lounge. The pre ordered breakfast was perfect. There were hot and cold options, and we were asked more than once if we wanted anything topped up. The location was good. Just a ten minute walk from both beach and town. Wifi was great and easy to connect. Would definitely recommend 👌

The tv was slightly older, so we couldn't connect to Netflix, although it really wasn't that important to us because we didn't spend that long in the room.

We've stayed at Powys on and off over the last 14 years and it's always perfect. Tina and Shaun are so nice and welcoming, the rooms are always exceptional with everything you need. This time we had the newly done Junior Suite, we will definitely be booking for next time, it was so nice to have that extra room to relax and chill out in, it was so nice to curl up on a sofa with a book and a glass of chilled wine (there's a fridge in the cabinet under the TV😊) while the other half was watching TV in the other room! The breakfast is amazing, a really good choice of options , the poached eggs are a spot on 😊 Definitely one of the best guesthouses in Scarborough.

We can't rate the powys lodge high enough, our stay was perfect from arriving to leaving, Tina is the perfect host , down to earth, friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble, the powys lodge is spotlessly clean with amazing decor, breakfast was served quickly and was cooked lovely (perfect poached eggs) and all delicious. Extra amenities not mentioned on booking.com like the use of an iron etc, they are available and easy to access, Tina has thought of everything that people may need while.on holiday. The guest lounge has a coffee/tea machine for your use while you check in/out or just relaxing in, there is a unit full of books to take a read of, and a cupboard full of games to keep you entertained...just perfect!

Just got home from a fabulous 4 night break. The accommodation is everything you’d want for a comfortable, exceptional value for money guest house. Lovely room, very clean, outstanding breakfast with plenty of choice and very welcoming host. The shared lounge is a nice touch where you can relax with a tea or coffee that is provided. Just a few minutes walk to regular bus services down to Filey and Bridlington. I would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if I was to return to the area.

Absolutely fantastic stay, Tina was so helpful. Place was lovey and clean, beds were so comfortable (i don't normally sleep more than 4 hours due to pain) I could 6 hours which was ! Breakfast was suberb, good choices and staff couldn't do more to make you pary of the family. We will return for future stays, location was excellent as near to Scarborough front but also convenient for other journeys (Filey)

Nothing that I didn't like, if I had to find something it would be small mugs supplied in room, I like a good size coffee mug !! Just to make disabled travellers know, Lodge doesn't offer ground floor rooms, we were on first floor but I managed the stair easily, as it has good size stairs and banister. (I use walking stick as have spinal injury) Longer stay needed next time!

Tina, the owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and filling, the bed was comfortable and the hotel was in a nice and quiet area about 10-15 mins walk from the train station.

Having to pre order breakfast the day before meant you had to guess just how hungry you'd be the following day and potential for food to be wasted. The room was small, which we kind of guessed through the pictures, but the bathroom was very small and we accidentally knocked a toilet roll into the toilet...perhaps turning the toilet roll holder 180 degrees would stop that happening. But we would definitely stay again.

The interiors of Powys Lodge are tasteful, most of all the breakfast room. The room I booked was quite big, fitted with a nice sofa, a cupboard and a desk and a chair. The ausuite bathroom was small but had everything needed. The room was very quiet. Breakfast was good. Tina, the landlady, was very nice and communication before the stay and during went well. From Powys Lodge it takes you a couple of minutes to get to the Cliff Lift from where you have a fantastic few.

The water pressure for the shower was not very strong. I would have wished for more breakfast choices such as fruits and honey.

Tina is such a lovely welcoming lady and goes above and beyond to see that you have everything you need for a perfect stay. Exceptionally clean and very comfortable bedroom. The bed was extremely comfortable. Toiletries, clean towels and tea/coffee making tray provided and top ups offered whenever needed. There is a TV in the bedrooms. Lovely clean en suite and shower. I enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere and slept very well. There is a very pleasant sitting room for guests to use downstairs with TV available, cards, games and books too. A complimentary provision of hot drinks is available for guests to make their own hot drinks. The dining room is fresh and modern and very pleasant. A menu for breakfasts works well with a very good choice available. Tina makes very enjoyable breakfasts with a choice of different time slots. Powys Lodge is in a great location 10 -15 minutes walk to the railway station and town centre and there are also frequent bus services to town and to the South Bay. The South cliff and pathway is 5-6 mins walk away. Great value for money too. I was so happy to stay at Powys Lodge for a second stay and will be delighted to stay next time! Thanks very much Tina!

Upon arrival I found Tina to be a warm and genuine person who made me feel right at home! The house is a magnificent large Victorian building and she keeps it in pristine condition. My room was a good size and like everywhere else was immaculate. There was always a good choice at breakfast, the food was good and you never had to wait. I’ve been to Scarborough many times before but this is the first as a solo traveller and by far this is the best place I’ve stayed. I hope to return sometime in the future and to stay there again. I would certainly recommend it! Keep up the good work Tina 👍

This was my first solo traveling experience and Tina put me at ease and made me very welcome . My room was lovely and clean and I loved the decor throughout especially the dining room which made breakfast feel so opulent. Tina made sure I had everything I needed at all times . I didn't have far to walk to get to the Cliff lift and down to the beach. Breakfast was lovely and you were given a choice of time and it was ready minutes after you arrived. I would definitely stay here again and hope to come again with my son. It was only a 15 minute walk to the train or bus station, there was parking if you happen to drive .

There wasn't anything that I didn't like, if I had to find anything it would be the shower pressure and temp but as a mixer shower this is expected and didn't ruin my experience
