My room was very beautiful. Honestly, after reading some reviews before booking, I thought I might be disappointed, but once I arrived, everything changed. The hotel ambiance was awesome, and the people at the front desk were very helpful — especially the manager, who was excellent. The rooms were very clean, and the dinner experience was just wow! 🤩 I really enjoyed my meal — the king prawns and lamb shank were absolutely amazing, prepared by Chef Priyanka. She did a fantastic job. At the bar, Iona was also wonderful — so kind and welcoming. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

One small area that could be improved is the entrance carpet. It’s quite old and feels like a slip hazard, so updating it would make the hotel even better.

An exceptional hotel within a large garden, flowers, trees and wild bird melodies. Wonderful nature with an adjacent river. The staff was exceptionally polite. Room was spacious, elegantly decorated and comfortable. Excellent full Scottish breakfast was served. There were also continental and other breakfast selections (like vegetarian). Complimentary tea/coffee and cookies in the room. Elegant sitting areas, piano bar, pool table and a comfortable atmosphere to enjoy long evenings with a drink.

The hotel is in the middle of a large garden, and connected to the outer gate with a narrow road. Going to the city center by walking is a bit difficult.

Loved the old style of the hotel and the character of it. Bedroom was a good large size, and was lovely and warm. Nice modern bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Good selection at breakfast (both cooked an continental). Plenty of space to relax in the hotel too. Others have commented it is dated, but I think that adds to the character of the building for me! Would definitely stay again.

No hot water in the evening, which was frustrating. The bathroom had a lovely sized bath, but unable to use it. Might be a difficult location if you didn't have a car. But very near the centre, so probably has good transport links.

Breakfast was outstanding- excellent selection and presented . Table setting was equally excellent. Breakfast 10/10 well done. Bed - excellent again. Very comfortable and clean and presentable in an excellent wall. A little dated ( so what ! - did not stop me having a good nights sleep. The room was fine, again dated - but absolutely fine. Bathroom excellent. Only two “things” NOT Issues No shampoo and best side lights - I think could do with being a little brighter- BUT goodness me I am nit picking - have no hesitation booking again or recommending. Well done hotel and staff 👍👍

Beautiful old baronial style building by a river. Lovely interiors with lots of old antiques Lovely big room and four poster bed! Beautiful ironed bed linen. Super clean. Excellent breakfast

Bar stock was dissappointing. I was served a horrible, sweet rose (from a single plastic bottle serving)- a bit like an alcopop. And the red wine had been open too long and was acidic. Given the location in the Speyside area, I imagine the customers have high expectations on the drinks front.

Hotel is obviously transitioning, the 3 staff members we met were excellent, extremely helpful and freindly especially the main guy who checked us in and served in bar he catered for us really well, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was really good !! Location is great for high street, and for Tesco room supplies 😉 Have stayed before and will stay again.

Very quiet when we stayed but it was ok for us, the Hotel is changing I’m sure it will only get better, the staff were great this time 👍

When we booked (last minute mind you) we did not realize the room was in a separate building; a 2-minute walk from the Mansion House but it did have parking. It would be a good idea to advertise this in BIG letters when that room is chosen. The room was fine, but the floors needed to be vacuumed, and they had started to do some patches on the skylights and were not finished, the place just felt "tired". The bathroom was recently renovated but only one towel and one hand towel were provided. The Mansion house is where a lovely breakfast was served and included in the room price but sadly the whole place is a bit worn, it could just use a bit of a refresh and would have been amazing! The staff were very helpful and kind.

A beautiful older hotel in a quiet location, though very close to central Elgin. We loved the decor - it’s a genuine manor house with lovely period furnishings. The lounge is very beautiful, yet unpretentious. We were sorry we had only 1 night there, and would stay here again. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Excellent breakfast - with good coffee and delicious haggis. We are now converts

We liked it all. Location, decor, staff, food. All are excellent.

Location was ideal for me as I could walk to where I needed to go to. Also close to local tgransport facilites and shops.

Disapointed as there ws no chef for breakfast facilities. I was given a continental breaksfast which was ok but not great. I was offered 2 yoghurts, bananas which were on the point of being chucked out, plus other fruit and a jug of milk for cereal. Bearing in mind I was stayng 4 nights and I ws staying in the Lodge which did have kitchen facilities. Just an iidea maybe the kithcen should be checked to see if any other requirements are needed. I felt as I was a paying guest I shouldn;t have to go and ask.

I requested a bath in our bathroom additional the our they responded and confirmed the request. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted. The was so warm and inviting, it was spotlessly clean spacious and just what we needed after a long journey. We sleep so well and the next o ring our breakfast was delicious so well presented and cooked to perfection! A real secret escape in a beautiful building. We also enjoyed a game of snooker before we left on the full sized table!
