Lift to our room on the 4th floor. Nice breakfasts catering for all tastes. We were quite happy with the juice, cereals and toast. But not the coffee, I guess it was an instant variety.

The steps from the street are too steep for an older person. I.E the step riser is uncomfortably large. and the handrail somewhat less than adequate being polished chrome and slippery when wet. It would also appear that these steps are the major way out should there be an emergency evacuation, especially if it occured at dinner time due say to a fire in the kitchens. If that happened I would not be surprised if some guests fell or got pushed over in the rush to exit resulting in broken bones or more serious injuries. I suggest that the hotel get advice from the IOM Fire and Rescue Service.

Handy for the ferry and for traveling to other towns. The three day travel pass is a great idea and it would have been good to get that information from staff and maybe some leaflets about places of interest. It was good having the lift. Nice clean friendly hotel. Plenty of choice at breakfast . Only dined in once but nice carvery. Many hotels now have the reuse of towels which makes a lot of sense.

Not so much 'dislikes' but might annoy some people. We were right above the extractor fan. To be fair once it starts it's not that big a deal. Just when it starts up.

Didn't need to book a time for breakfast. It was 7am-9am and always plenty available. Could store luggage when we had to check out before 11am and ferry was not until 7.45pm.

Lift was very tiny! Didn't affect us much as was able to use stairs but if less abled guests wanted to use it at busy times there was a wait. Bed in our room...304...seemed to have a dip to one side and my boyfriend couldn't sleep well first night. I swapped to that side and it was ok but did wake up nearly coming out of the bed.

Great location, traditional hotel, big room, excellent breakfast, all staff were very professional and friendly

The room could have been cleaned better (some bits on the floors) and the bathroom in the room looked a bit tired and could do with some renovation work

Clean and modernised restaurant, bar, bedrooms and reception area. Our room was clean and spacious and had an amazing shower. The food was hot and tasty-we had breakfast and dinner there. The bar was small but had a good range of drinks at reasonable prices though underused as very quiet in the evening. Location was fantastic, frequent buses to Douglas where there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, and further tourist attractions & other towns, and a short walk to tram station which I highly recommend. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.

Lacked atmosphere even though there was a pianist on while we were there, hotel was dead after 10pm. Also the front stairs to the hotel were very steep and the lift was tiny which was a shame because the hotel had obviously been modernised and refurbished

The hotel is in a perfect area , close to any location you want to go. It was clean, staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice.

The time of breakfast, 7-9 is a bit early when you are on holiday.

Our room was very clean and had a stunning view over the bay. The bathroom had a bath and shower with clean towels, soap, shower gels and shampoos. In the room had a welcome pack. In it was a request to order a 'pack up' for the next day. A menu with food to order in the restaurant. Breakfast... there was a good choice for a 'full English breakfast'. Cereals , yogurts, and toast. A very polite and friendly staff member brought pots of tea or coffee to the table and asked if we wanted anything. The hotel is situated at the far end of the promenade from the sea port. There are bus stops 6 the hotel . The electric railway is a 10 min walk. The horse-drawn carriage passes the hotel and can be flagged down at the opposite bus stop

Lovely location, right on the seafront with lovely views. It is a typical old fashioned seaside hotel so while not luxury it was very clean, quirky (especially the lift!) and the staff were exceptional, very friendly and very helpful. We didn’t eat there but the dining room looked very nice and a good menu. The location is good especially for the electric railway. It is probably a 15 minute walk into the town where the restaurants are. Overall, good value for the money

The bed and pillows were a bit hard for me but that is probably just a personal thing

We were luck enough to be given a front seaview room, room very large and lovely big bathroom with bathtub - all very clean and well presented. Excellent location right on the promenade about 10 mins walk from Douglas main town and with local bars, restaurants and shops nearby. In May we had no issue parking on the road out front. Excellent breakfast. The beds and fold out sofa bed were very comfortable.

we booked a double room but the 'double' bed was actually two singles pushed together with single duvets. we used the restaurant once for evening meal and food was average at best
