This is a grade II property so has a lot of charm…. Beautiful lounge and bar/breakfast area. We had a family room and it was very small but beds super comfy and newly redecorated bathroom. Very central, super close to the old harbour. What really stands out are the staff!!!! Exceptionally nice, eager to please, super helpful. Really felt like a valued customer. We will def come back! They offer the opportunity to bring in your take way if you buy the drink from them which makes it super good value. Their breakfast at £4.95 per person is excellent !

The room is small, but not much you can do…. And it is all part of the charm

Tom, Lorna and the staff were amazing. Travelled with my dad who has a chronic lung condition. They helped to change his room to the ground floor and liaised with the oxygen company to make sure he had everything he needed. It was the first time we travelled since he's been on oxygen and it was as seamless as experience as it could have been. Tom was really helpful during our stay and helped my wife and daughter throughout our weekend away. Location is amazing as well - right next to the beautiful beach. Thank you very much for all your help. Definitely would recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the Alexandra Hotel. We had a family room which had a double bed and a single bed for our 3 year old, and it was really comfortable. The free use of the beach equipment was a nice touch! Location was excellent, right outside Alexandra Park with all the rides and seafront. Simple breakfast but was just what we needed to start the day. I also opted for the birthday package for my husband which was a really nice touch. Staff were lovely and friendly, we would definitely stay again :) thank you for a lovely weekend!

I was so very pleased with my last minute decision to stay here! The sea view deluxe room on the 3rd floor was super comfortable, rustic-chic, awesome sheets, padding, towels, nice shower, and really splendid view. The proprietor is extremely nice and helpful. I like the way you can hang in the lounge, the open breakfast room, or the front lovely patio, and you are welcome to bring outside food as long as you purchase drinks from their well-stocked bar. I was only in Weymouth as a last-minute decision, for 28 hours - but I loved every minute! Take a walk to Cove Gallery, up to the fort to see Isle of Portland, and go for a boat ride with the peeps just over the walk bridge near Bennett’s Fish and Chips. The ones that have 20, 75 and 90. That was a blast. Took a little wade and quick swim by the pier. Water seemed clean and pretty. Although crowded, I felt peaceful here!

When I called with issues getting a taxi to the property, the answer phone picked up. No WhatsApp for international callers. The lady who called me back didn’t have a pleasant phone voice, and I wondered why she was in customer service. That was the only con.

I liked the location the most. Very close to attractions to the sea and the train station.

Honestly, all the staff was very nice. The hotel is old but well-kept. What surprised me the most was that for 6 days no one cleaned the room (the floor was not vacuumed even once). The bathroom was not cleaned either. They only took out the trash and changed towels if we needed it. I am very surprised by this fact. In my opinion, this is not right.

Staff were lovely and helpful. We arrived a little early so popped in to enquire about the parking permit and we're advised our room was ready so we could check in. That was really helpful. Location of the hotel is great for us. We've been to Weymouth a few times before a chose this hotel because it's in the middle of what we want to do. Our room was clean and stocked with ample tea/coffee and toiletries. We didn't need anything additional during our stay but we're aware that we could ask for additional towels etc. We were soaked during the second day and were offered the chance to dry clothes in the tumble dryer which I thought was a lovely offer and shows the staff are conscientious and wanting people to have a comfortable stay.

There wasn't anything negative that we noted. I think the only recommendation would be for cooked breakfast however, the lack of cooked breakfast wouldn't prevent me from staying again at all. We had a brilliant stay!

The hotel was lovely and clean, the staff were lovely & welcoming and very helpful, I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel in the morning before the afternoon check in because we were going to see a show at the pavilion which was great, hotel location to the pavilion is great, there is no restaurant but we were able to order a takeaway and eat in the lounge, staff provided takeaway info, and provided plates etc

I'm unable to do stairs very well, and our room was 2 flights up so it was painful to do the stairs up and down, but not the hotels fault I didn't read the hotel nfo properly before booking, as it does state no lift after reading it after arrival, and I'm sure if it wasn't half term and busy and a downstairs room was available they would have switched rooms for me as they were very helpful in all other aspect, so totally my fault not reading all info

The hotel is in a perfect place for us, the parking permits are great, the family sea view rooms are perfect for our family, (2 adults & 2 children). We have stayed here many times over the last few years. This hotel is always our top pick.

Unfortunately, a toilet paper roll left in the bathroom had suspicious ‘dirt’ on it, and a towel had a small stain/ dirty mark on. We have always found this hotel to be very very clean, so this was surprising.

Lovely big room and bathroom with sea view, great shower, comfortable bed, cheap plentiful continental breakfast, friendly staff.

Too much light coming in windows - please fit blackout blinds? No fan in bathroom, and tea selection in room only had Tetley's standard tea. Could have been a bit more fruit for breakfast and a later checkout - 10.30? So time to eat breakfast! Poor person on duty had too much to do so had to wait for breakfast drinks - he needed some help!

Staff were great, efficient, very friendly. Room was very comfortable with excellent linen.

It's in a fairly busy spot, if it's hot and you need the windows open expect some noise. That didn't bother us though so it's not a negative point for me. Despite the heaviest curtains I've ever seen, the room was very light as soon as the sun rose. If you need dark settings I'd advise an eye mask, that's the only comment I have.
