Beautiful hotel and staff were so friendly and accommodating throughout our whole stay. Going out of their way to help us. Even noticing it was my birthday. You won’t get service like that at non family-owned hotels. Breakfast was lovely with lots of varied choices. Location was great for transport into the city and main attractions. Terrace bar was an added bonus at the end of our evening. Really impressed with the rooms design, cleanliness, size, comfort and amenities. L’occitane toiletries and a robe and slippers were a nice added touch of luxury. Would 100% return and recommend to others.

The only improvement was that I asked for no feather pillows in my room due to an allergy and this was forgotten but rectified immediately once I raised it.

I love an old-fashioned hotel like this one. It has an actual wardrobe with plenty of space to put in your clothes, a bathroom with both a tub and a shower booth, the amenities were excellent and they gave me fresh ones every day. The room is big, there's a writing desk, a coffee table, two easy chairs. It's bright and quiet at night. There are art books in the room, which impressed me. I hated leaving that super comfortable room!

Room service takes an hour. But that's a very minor complaint

We very much enjoyed our stay at Le Chatelain. The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. Our room was well appointed. Love the extra counter space in the bathroom. Only negatives were how crazy expensive the breakfast is!! 37€ is way too much for what they had on the buffet. Very disappointing.

Pleasant, friendly service from the staff. Very elegant hotel, with nice areas and very spacious rooms. Very good beds! The staff made no problem of us already depositing our luggage in the morning before check-in and coming to pick it up in the evening after check-out.

The staff did not seem to speak Dutch. The breakfast buffet was extensive, but very 'conservative'; there were hardly any alternatives for vegetarians and certainly not for vegans. There was only 1 bottle of almond milk, lots of charcuterie (meat & cheese) and 'standard' hot dishes: bacon, sausages, potatoes, mushrooms, beans and eggs. There were no plant-based yoghurt or sweets/pastries available. There was plenty of fresh fruit though, but out of season and certainly not local (strawberries and melon in October?). In the room, separate disposable plastic bottles are still used for shampoo, shower gel and even bottled water. This really could be done better! Please install and use refillable containers for bath and shower.

great suite and position

Hotel lounge, bar and dining room closed for most, if not all, of the time we were there. we were not told this when we asked about booking a meal - turned up to eat, to find everything closed, and, having ordered drinks before we found this out, we had to drink these in the breakfast room - and were still charged lounge bar prices. Reception staff didn't seem to know what was going on.

The staff very very helpful - they organised a reservation for me to park the car. When asked for guidance they were helpful and provided accurate information

The room was too hot and we were not able to sort out how to regulate the heating system. When mentioned at the reception a member of staff came and showed us how to put on the air conditioning but this could not be kept on all the time as it was quite noisy.

The breakfast although quite expensive was very good with plenty of choice. The location question is quite strange to ask. Location good or bad is down to where you need to stay, if you wanted access to the far end of town you wouldn’t stay here and vice versa.

It’s not a dislike just a comment which meant you didn’t get top marks for everything. It would assist to have USB or Type C plugs available for charging electronic equipment.

Great hotel in a great location, particularly as the renovation of Châtelain is now complete. Good transport links from Bailli. Comfortable and spacious room with good amenities. Great bed. Friendly and helpful staff. All in all an excellent short stay.

Fitness centre was undergoing renovation, making access trickier and more limited - staff were still helpful about it.

The room, the staff and the location were all great.

The food in the restaurant seemed very expensive for what it was. We got a club sandwich with chips on the first night and it was €24 each just for that without drinks. Not a big deal though, we simply ate elsewhere for the remainder of the holiday. Also, I have never known a hotel to put such a large hold amount on your card. They put €300 on hold which put a dampener on the start of the holiday as this was a large chunk of my spending money, so it took some enjoyment out of the experience for me unfortunately.

confortante, large room, good shower

PLUGS! we live in a world where the first thing we do when we come in an hotel room is look for plugs to connect iPhone, pads and computers. in my room, 205, I had to unplug the television and the coffee machine to plug in. near the bed only USB connections and I am USC. so no connection for me there. so this was annoying. it is also far from the center and the parliament. but I knew it when I booked so I cannot blame them for where they are. but if you are planning to work or visit there, it is 40 minutes walking to the Gran place and 21 minutes from the parliament.
