Great property, lovely staff and excellent standard of cleanliness. We stayed in the studio room that had a full kitchen which allowed us to cook our own breakfast. It was well equipped and suited us perfectly. We even ended up extending our stay twice. The location is great, one street over from the main square and 2-3 minute walk to lots of great restaurants and bars.

After the first two days the A/C wouldn’t get cold enough for us to be fully comfortable. The windows out to the street are a little thin so if there’s noise outside it can be a loud. Specifically on Monday mornings the fruit shop across the road takes delivery at around 6:30am which woke us up on both of the Mondays that we were there. There was also a party at a nearby bar on one of the evenings that played very loud music until 12:30am, but other than that it was mostly quiet.

Aurora boutique hotel is absolutely special and so are the hosts. Perfect location, good vibes, amazing room…couldn’t ask for more. We can strongly recommend staying at Aurora to enjoy Holbox at the very best. You will find literally everything in the room: towels, beach towels, shopping bags, beach bags, kitchen appliances, good products for cleaning and your personal care…literally everything, all included. The attention to details is meticulous. Thanks a lot Aurora for the very good treatment.

All absolutely good

This place is an absolute gem. We had a studio with balcony and would very be happy to return! Studio looked even better than in the pics - it was spacious, had super comfy bed, loads of pillows and cushions. Internet was fast, shower pressure strong (with hot water), and the apartment was cleaned everyday. Smart TV and kitchenette were very useful. Kitchen was well equipped and even had filter coffee machine and coffee/tea/sugar provided (however no kettle?). The hotel also provides free water which is great. Location wise it was also very good - less than 10min walk to the ferry, so no need to get taxi. Less than 5min walk to the main beach and town square that is filled with street food in the evenings. Their little online guide was also very useful to us. Over all, it was our favourite stay on this trip to Mexico. We fell in love with Holbox and hoping to come back soon, and will definitely stay at Aurora again.

Kettle in the room would be very useful. We also had issues with water one day.Probably not hotels fault (and it did not impact our stay) as the island has some water problems. However, because staff are not there 24/7 I would advise future guests to keep a large bottle of water just in case you come from the beach and need to have a wash and water is not working.

The room I had was excellent. The island overall was very disappointing, but this place made it better.

The area immediately outside the entrance to the building can be maintained better, particularly the knee-deep puddles of muddy water for arriving customers. Floods should not be a surprise to anyone in this area, I expect business owners to be prepared for this. The entire island is a dead zone for the network provider who happens to be assigned to my Australian SIM card so I was offline for 2 hours before so got to the hotel in pitch black darkness completely drenched and exhausted. I did not appreciate the attitude of the lady who checked me in. When a customer is not happy - arguing is not smart

The location was perfect! In a really quiet road but still 5 minute walk from the city centre and the beach. The hotel was brand new and the room was beyond beautiful. Everyday we found the room cleaned and perfect. They also provide you a cute beach bag with beach towels, they changed them everyday. The staff was very kind and helpful with every question and needs. Last but not least, we loved their Cat, Tora 😍 I can’t wait to be back in Isla Holbox one day!

We has one of our best stays so far in Mexiko here. In our opinion this is the best hotel in Holbox. Very very stylish furniture and in best location. The staff was so friendly. The kitchen was so good and well equipped for cooking. Would definitely come back. The room looks even better than on the pictures!!!

There is absoluter nothing to complain!!!

The room was great, really nice new and clean. Location was also super close to the center which was great even though it’s tricky to walk around when it rains but that’s an overall issue of the island.

The girl at the reception gave us a lot of wrong info which wasn’t great and one day we spilled coffee on the sheets by accident (of course) and we later find out that the hotel makes you pay in case the stains don’t come out - every business has its risks and we found it absurd this would even be an option considering how much we paid for the room as well.

A lovely little hotel. In the main town and just around the corner from the main bars, restaurants and shops so great location. Nice environmentally friendly - no plastics. But lovely shampoos and soaps to use. Towels to take to the beach and bags to use. Everything thought of. Loved my stay here. Staff very helpful booking trips and taxi for my return to the ferry. Highly recommend.

Location was fantastic, room was very spacious, housekeeping was excellent and room was cleaned everyday! The host Vanessa was extremely helpful! I needed to print some documents and she got these printed for me! There was bags to borrow in the room for the beach which was such a lovely touch.

The staff are absolutely incredible and make it feel as the lost personalized stay. Even before your arrival, they are in contact to ensure you are ready for your stay and provide all the details on how to get there. Was there, they provide a full lowdown on what to do in the areas and different restaurants for different occasions. They truly have gone above and beyond to make your stay as personalized as possible. As for the actual room, the hotel is new and beautifully decorated. It is situated in the heart of town which is ideal to walk either to the ferry or to the beach. Beach bags (including towels) are provided by the hotel to enjoy as well. Couldn’t recommend Aurora enough!
