Communication with the hotel pre-arrival was brilliant. Great position in the High Street, easy parking. Room was clean and fresh. Good hospitality tray and bottled water. Friendly staff willing to please, good vibe in the bar.

No wi-fi. Had to go to other nearby premises to go online. Breakfast was confusing, not just for us. Paid £6 for 2 small boiled eggs and a few little soldiers. I would have liked more toast but that was on the buffet table and there was a charge of around £10 for that. So if you wanted orange juice or cereal or toast and marmalade for example, you would have to pay £12 for your eggs and bacon plus £10 for anything from the buffet table? Waiting staff should explain when ordering. Tea and coffee cold by the time food arrived so ordered more at an additional charge of several £. Will book inclusive next time!

The location is great, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely and big and nicely decorated, bed was very comfortable, shower excellent. The tea and coffee station was well equipped and little bag of tiffin was a lovely extra. Our dog was with us and she had a super little goody box waiting for her. I had a full English for breakfast which was very tasty. It arrived with fried eggs instead of poached but this was quickly rectified with no fuss,just an apology. An excellent stay.....I was just sorry to only be there for one night.

Nothing I can fault.

The room was one of the best hotel rooms I have stayed in. Large room with comfortable bed, sofa and coffee table, good lighting and nice size TV. There was a kettle for tea with a good selection of tea bags as well as a coffee machine. The bathroom was nice and spacious with a bath over the shower. Parking was included which was helpful. I left too early for breakfast so unable to comment.

I could find nothing to complain about.

A really lovely good old fashioned, proper pub. In a pretty busy Kentish town. The general ambience was friendly and inviting. My room (suite) was spacious, comfortable with plenty of amenities for a restful stay. Dinner was delish! Lovely to see a good pub so understandably popular. My only negative was that the place is very understaffed. The available staff - humour still in place - were run off their feet and service therefore slow. Present climate makes hospitality a financial nightmare, but hopefully a mutual balance can be achieved.

We stayed in Horatia which was a large room with a Super king bed on the top floor. The room had a seating area with a coffee table, sofa bed and two arm chairs. It was well equipped with a fan (it was a very hot day) and as the room had windows either end, we had a welcome breeze coming through. Nice bright clean bathroom and good parking at the rear of the building. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

The sofa bed was very tired and you couldn't sit on it the base sloped towards the floor. The bed was too firm for me and could of done with a mattress topper.

The room was lovely and clean with a comfy bed and a much needed fan. We had lunch on arrival and the food was very good , breakfast was also great with a wide range of choices including full english, eggs benedict fruit and cereals. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is 5 minutes walk from the railway and right on top of some lovely independent shops which were nice for a browse.

We felt the room was a little expensive but it is in line with other places in the area so we would stay here again.

Food was excellent, we had an evening meal and breakfast. The room was very cozy as quoted and the bed just right, although some might find it a bit firm but just right for us!

Just really a lick of paint on the stairs and landing,it felt a bit tired but to be honest if all you want is a good meal and a comfy bed at a very good price this is for you ☺️

This is our second stay at the white lion, it is a great base for visiting chapel down winery. It is a lovely little pub with nice rooms. We booked a suite which was a great size and perfect for a couple of days. Breakfast at the pub is really nice. There was entertainment on both nights of our stay, the hotel contacted us in advance to warn us about this. It was not an issue at all and the music stopped by 11.30 on both nights and the pub/hotel was quiet after that.

The hotel is a little creaky, this is a result of its age but you can hear everyone walking round when its morning. We could hear the kitchen starting up underneath our room. Not an issue for us as we were starting early but its not somewhere I think you could get a long lie in. If you are tall you may struggle with the showers. The bathrooms are quite small with low ceilings. Whilst the bathrooms were nice with good water pressure and nice toiletries, if you are big/tall you may struggle.

Very friendly staff and a good location. Large room with a very comfortable large bed. Dressing gowns and linens were good. Excellent choice of tea. The included breakfast had a very good selection and was plentiful and delicious.

Paid for an up graded room which although was very big the curtains were torn and a little tattered. The guttering was broken over both windows and when it rained it was very noisy. Only limited coffees in the room.

Excellent location, staff friendly. Good ale in the bar. Dog goody box on arrival was a nice touch. Also some chocolate brownies provided. Box of goodies on the table as well but these are chargeable. No garden at the rear to exercise dog but there is a charming public millennium garden 10 yds next door which was lovely. Breakfast selection was very good . Our room at the back was quiet. Lots of traffic going past at the front. Room hot but fan provided.
