Staff all helpful and friendly Car parking on site. Hôtel is a dream for anyone wanting a quirky building it has great character and charm Good atmosphere in bar area as used by many locals for drinks and food Our room was small but had all amenities we needed plenty of coffee pods for the machine

Our room faced onto the main road which was noisy we had the windows opened a bit as it was a bit too warm in the room but fans had been supplied

Nice looking hotel inside & out with car park around the back. Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely big room with big comfortable bed. Had a good night's sleep very quiet considering main road out the front. Nice evening meal without being exceptional but lovely filling breakfast in the morning . Cranbrook also is a lovely little town with lots of character, history & nice shops & restaurants. The local church is fascinating too with its historical clock and Father Time sculpture.

Being picky the evening meal , Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pud was nice however the meat was quite fatty & Yorkshire Pudding cold. The shower was not straightforward to work but sussed it eventually.

Historic country hotel/inn, very charming yet with distinctive limitations on comfort (uneven floors, steep stairs, ...). Pleasant, lively pub with good food. Excellent cooked breakfast. Very nice staff. Private parking in the rear of the building. Cranbrook is somewhat dreary but is perfectly located to reach all places of interest in Kent (gardens, historic houses and castles, towns, etc.). For dog owners, it is ideal as numerous possibilities to walk are nearby.

All the staff at the quaint hotel / brasserie were lovely and friendly. Food was lovely. The full English breakfast really hit the spot - bacon and hashbrown amazing

We had a double room, which was well designed and lovely, however the "double bed felt more like a small double/large single. While comfortable it was hard to get to sleep for the worry of falling out of the bed. We also had a street light opposite our window, so black out blinds would be good.

Although Cranbrook has a variety of shops and cafes, there's no real alternative to dining in the hotel in the evening unless you want curry or take away pizza. Our room was large and reasonably comfortable but quite stuffy ( in July)

Location was convenient both for Sissinghurst and for local restaurants.

1) The hotel car park is quite small, and not easy to turn a medium sized car in. Staff did suggest another two parking options, but they were some distance away. 2) Our room (no.1) was adjacent to a very noisy kitchen extractor fan, although to be fair that was switched off by the time we were trying to get to sleep. 3) The staff member who checked us in suggested that we could open the fire escape door for ventilation if necessary (since the window didn't appear to open)). However, since the fire door opened on to an external fire escape stairway, that didn't seem ideal from a security viewpoint.

Quirky old inn dating from 14th century (mainly 16th/17th C.) in charming small Kent town with lots of historic features. The staff were brilliant- so friendly and welcoming. Beware the other reviews - we wished we’d eaten at the hotel (not in tiny Greek place opposite) and didn’t notice the church bells (even though my husband is a light sleeper).

We were given a free upgrade to room with spa bath - this is quite difficult to operate. Take instruction!

Lovely staff very helpful and friendly. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Clean bedroom and bathroom good facilities in the room. Excellent food. Would stay again.

As we were at the front of the building it was quite noisy first thing in the morning. I would request a room further back next time. Shower in need of a pump. Could do with an armchair in the bedroom. None of this would stop me staying again.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great. There was a huge selection of cooked options that were freshly cooked to order, plus croissants, fruit and cereals. We had an evening meal the first night and it was of such a high standard that we decided to eat there again on our second night. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly.

The staff are all exceptional and could not do enough for us. The George Hotel is old but beautiful with so much character. The breakfast was top quality and everything served with a smile. I throughly enjoyed my stay and would be back. So loved the history of the Hotel and embracing it, loved it, even the wonkly floors and small doors.
