Communication with the hotel pre-arrival was brilliant. Great position in the High Street, easy parking. Room was clean and fresh. Good hospitality tray and bottled water. Friendly staff willing to please, good vibe in the bar.

No wi-fi. Had to go to other nearby premises to go online. Breakfast was confusing, not just for us. Paid £6 for 2 small boiled eggs and a few little soldiers. I would have liked more toast but that was on the buffet table and there was a charge of around £10 for that. So if you wanted orange juice or cereal or toast and marmalade for example, you would have to pay £12 for your eggs and bacon plus £10 for anything from the buffet table? Waiting staff should explain when ordering. Tea and coffee cold by the time food arrived so ordered more at an additional charge of several £. Will book inclusive next time!

Our twin room was very clean and comfortable and spacious enough. The location of the White Lion is perfect on the main road. I really liked the proper little bottle of milk in the room to have with tea but for the money, I'd have hoped for slightly nicer sweet treats to go with our tea - we had some v small biscuits that tasted a bit past their best. We had a good dinner that evening and a very good included breakfast the following morning. The staff were v nice and friendly. Great to have parking available.

Our twin room only had a shower over a quite deep bath so my mum was unable to have a shower. The plug in the sink was also temperamental and got stuck down.

The room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed during a period of very hot weather, so the fan provided in the room (and complimentary water) was very welcome. We stayed for a delicious breakfast next morning, which was perfect. This is a great pub to stay in, with a very large car park and centered in the middle of Tenterden. The manager and staff worked very hard and we really enjoyed our stay....thank you.

Breakfast in the outside seating area would have been nice due to the weather, however, it would probably have meant hiring additional staff, and, as we all know, this is expensive these days. No complaints though.

We had a room on the top floor with windows on 2 sides - 1 overlooking the high street and the other a nice park at the back. The room was very large. Cleanliness was good and a good selection of good quality tea and coffee. It was very nice that our dog was also was also thought of (doggy treat box, cushion, dog bowls). All staff were very friendly. Bed, bed linen and towels were of a high standard.

The room colours were a bit drab. There was naturally noise from the high street side (but one expects that). It was a very hot day so the room was rather warm but a good, strong fan was in the room. Bathroom was functional but a little on the small side

The room was one of the best hotel rooms I have stayed in. Large room with comfortable bed, sofa and coffee table, good lighting and nice size TV. There was a kettle for tea with a good selection of tea bags as well as a coffee machine. The bathroom was nice and spacious with a bath over the shower. Parking was included which was helpful. I left too early for breakfast so unable to comment.

I could find nothing to complain about.

A really lovely good old fashioned, proper pub. In a pretty busy Kentish town. The general ambience was friendly and inviting. My room (suite) was spacious, comfortable with plenty of amenities for a restful stay. Dinner was delish! Lovely to see a good pub so understandably popular. My only negative was that the place is very understaffed. The available staff - humour still in place - were run off their feet and service therefore slow. Present climate makes hospitality a financial nightmare, but hopefully a mutual balance can be achieved.

The location is great, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely and big and nicely decorated, bed was very comfortable, shower excellent. The tea and coffee station was well equipped and little bag of tiffin was a lovely extra. Our dog was with us and she had a super little goody box waiting for her. I had a full English for breakfast which was very tasty. It arrived with fried eggs instead of poached but this was quickly rectified with no fuss,just an apology. An excellent stay.....I was just sorry to only be there for one night.

Nothing I can fault.

Free parking in Tenterden was essential. I enjoyed dinner with my nephew, his partner and young daughter. The service was friendly and the food and drinks were consumed with enthusiasm! My luck continued at breakfast when Eggs Royale was available.

Live music is always a tricky one. Popular with many but I prefer peace in which to chat. My room was above the music so my sleep was delayed for a while. Collecting a disc to escape from the car park was a minor iniconvenience

We stayed in Horatia which was a large room with a Super king bed on the top floor. The room had a seating area with a coffee table, sofa bed and two arm chairs. It was well equipped with a fan (it was a very hot day) and as the room had windows either end, we had a welcome breeze coming through. Nice bright clean bathroom and good parking at the rear of the building. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

The sofa bed was very tired and you couldn't sit on it the base sloped towards the floor. The bed was too firm for me and could of done with a mattress topper.

The room was lovely and clean with a comfy bed and a much needed fan. We had lunch on arrival and the food was very good , breakfast was also great with a wide range of choices including full english, eggs benedict fruit and cereals. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is 5 minutes walk from the railway and right on top of some lovely independent shops which were nice for a browse.

We felt the room was a little expensive but it is in line with other places in the area so we would stay here again.
