The Quay Inn is a locals pub as well as a guest house. I like that. The location is excellent for everything Minehead has to offer. Great choice of beers and an extensive menu for evening meals. We didn't have a lunch at the pub but again the choice looked good. Parking available for free immediately outside which again is a plus. The landlady is a character and very good company in the bar. The breakfast was also very nice and prepared fresh.
No complaints. The pub was busy when we there and I think the very pleasant young lady on breakfast duties would have welcomed some help. Everyone seemed to arrive down for breakfast at the same time!

Very friendly staff. Excellent location for flat walk into town, historic harbour and coast path. Easy reach of bus stop. Free on road parking. Good freshly cooked breakfast with juice and cereals, toast, tea or coffee. Comprehensive choice of evening meal, freshly cooked, excellent drinks selection, well priced. Comfortable, warm, nicely decorated room, with en suite. Tea and coffee making facilities, TV, large fluffy towels, plenty of hot water with spacious corner shower. Superb sea view.
Nothing could have been better, staying in a traditional Inn is just perfect!

The room was clean and comfortable. The host showed me to the my room and explained everything very patiently. The breakfast was very good and generous. The view from my room was absolutely beautiful. The place is remote enough that it's lovely and quiet but very central at the same time so it is within walking distance of everything. I would definitely book again.
The shower drain took ages to empty (I should have informed the host but it completely slipped my mind) and the walls are a little thin, I could hear next doors guest snoring. But that didn't bother me too much.

Well i booked it deliberately as its a four un a bed winner , lovely double bed woke up to sea, sat on roof top with cuppa , and rare breed sausage was nice
2 sausages as irs a rare beeed and veey nice , dust behind door and under dressing table , only nitoced as i went to charge my phone , tv aerial struggled to get a signal , but im picking and im sure wouldve fixed it and the dust, but it didnt bother me at all, stayed at many b and b's and it will take some beating from my point of view , lacked unecessary bredkfast items you get in others but cereal tea and coffee and fry up suits me

Nice location, lovely views and nice atmosphere. Beds are very comfortable and had a really good nights sleep. Cooked breakfast was amazing with good quality ingredients.
Rooms could do with a deep clean, tea/coffee stains on furniture, fair bit of dust and cobwebs around room. Furniture could do with a revamp. Carpets could do with a shampoo just to freshen the room up.

Very friendly staff nothing too much trouble. Location overlooking the sea was lovely and within walking distance of main shops and heritage steam railway and the old harbour. Breakfasts were great as was the Jail Ale in the evening. Room serviced every day.

The bedrooms are fantastic. Very comfy beds, easily the best I've slept in away from home. As an ex-hotel manager myself, I was very impressed with the room (room 5). The furniture was lovely and amenities in the room good. A few recommendations from the guests' perspective - a shelf in the shower for shampoo, etc, decaf tea and coffee, adding to the courtesy tray, and the addition of a hairdryer would improve guest experience. We also didn't have a do not disturb sign, and the breakfast room had no music playing, so it was silent whilst eating. Having a radio playing would have made a much nicer atmosphere. Not critisms at all, just little additions to improve your guests' stay. The walls in our room also need a touch up of paint in places but giving that it is currently peak tourist season I fully understand that kind of work is done in the winter months and I'm sure is already on the agenda when it's financially feasible to take rooms offline for decorating out of season. Otherwise, though, the room was spotlessly clean and immaculate. The only thing that slightly let the place down was the lack of basic customer service, unfortunately. Whilst service improved during our stay, we unfortunately received a frosty "welcome" from both owners on our first encounter with each of them, which did dampen our experience and made us feel quite unwelcome at first. This did, however, improve during the stay slightly, and we were made to feel more welcome by the end of our 2 night stay after us making an extra effort and trying really hard to strike conversations up (one would argue though that effort shouldnt be required from the guests). Tip: A smile and a "good morning" go a long way with your guests in my experience. My first experience when arriving for breakfast was met with "tea or coffee" in a tone that was more of an accusation than a question! No, hello, good morning, hoe are your or a simple smile.
Other than the somewhat lack of basic/any customer service from the owners, especially at breakfast, nothing at all. We had a lovely stay and would still recommend it as a lovely and comfortable place to stay and would love to see the service improve for others :)

We had the family room which was beautifully decorated and very spacious. There was a separate room with 2 single beds so parents could get a good night's sleep! Lovely view from the private terrace. We had our evening meal there and the food was lovely and good value. The breakfast was great. All staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Nothing, we were pleased with everything.

The food was excellent and the room was clean and tidy but needed a little attention in certain areas
The front of the accommodation could really do we a face lift as it looked really drab and run down such a shame but it could look a lot better with repairs and paint work

Breakfast was AWESOME!!! The staff are very very friendly and helpful too!
It's a little too far from where I was there for, which is the Shiiine On Weekender at Butlin's. Walking back from Butlin's to The Quay Inn at 2 in the morning wasn't ideal. But, I felt safe enough. It was just a long walk.
