Kollmann Rooms and Apartments has an absolutely fantastic location, in the heart of the city and old town, amongst a few bars and restaurants, just by the water - and yet, not particularly loud (which was probably also because our room was on the last floor and facing the other side). Any sight was in walkable distance - there were tips on what to do by the entrance of the hotel + hostel -, and the staff was fantastic and really kind as well. I was traveling with a friend and asked in advance for a second set of bedding, and when we arrived everything was already prepared as asked. We also appreciated the little gifts in form of free coffee and tea.

The bathroom has seen better times, I suppose - the door looked like it's had a water damage before, which makes sense as the shower wall is not long enough to keep the water in, so after showering for a few minutes, the bathroom would be slightly flooded (which wasn't too big of a problem as there was a drainage outside of the shower for probably exactly that purpose). While we were on the last floor, I was surprised to see many bees / wasps in our room, and assume that there's a nest somewhere on the roof (my friend got stung on our last day as one wasp crawled into their shoe :'( ). Otherwise, all was beautiful.

Amazing location and the apartment was comfortable and clean. Great for a family stay.

We didn't realize when we were booking that the apartment was on a pedestrian street, inaccessible by car. For a family with small kids, luggage, and a car in a foreign country, it was difficult to find parking and then find the actual apartment with all the luggage in tow. Then the building didn't have elevators so we went up 4 flights of stairs with our luggage. Some notice about the parking and pedestrian street would have been helpful. Once we were settled in though, we enjoyed our stay very much.

We have stayed in Kollman rooms previously in a different room which I preferred as it had a balcony, unfortunately it wasn’t available this time. Plus points: this one had windows on front and side which you can open, nice view, great location and lovely large comfy bed. Bathroom had a magnifying mirror which is always a plus. The staff on reception are very helpful.

Nothing major, nit picking really but the light in bathroom is pretty useless, it looks nice but is a yellow light so cant see much in the mirror to do makeup. The sheets are way too short, they are not tucked in at bottom so your feet are basically uncovered, slightly irritating, if you tuck in then you are only half covered! The air conditioning is way down corridor so you don’t get full benefit. Shower wash and particularly the hand wash was very wishy. Luckily I had my own with me. For some reason there are splashes of white paint on fake panelling, could easily be removed. Would be nice to have 2 cold bottles of water in fridge. You can drink the water from tap though. No coffee machine, I found a lot of high end rooms have them as standard now.

We enjoyed everything about our stay here. The location was fantastic. Even though we were right on the main street, the windows kept most of the sound out. And speaking of the windows: those views, though!!! The staff were exceedingly helpful. The room itself was spacious and clean. It had everything you would need in a kitchenette, and the bed was pretty comfortable.

My one complaint is because I am a bougie bitch who needs pillows. Had it just been me in the room, the pillow situation may have been OK, but sharing it with my partner, there was not enough pillows. Also, if you’re somebody who struggles with stairs, this is not the property for you.

Excellent location, right in the center of the pedestrian district. 100% would stay here again. Short walk up to the castle, lots of great restaurants/cafes/bakeries/shopping nearby, and a farmer's market in the square. Our room was a corner unit and looked out onto the river. Clean apartment, comfortable bed, and a nice large bathroom area. Check-in/out was easy as the front desk is staffed throughout the day/night. Music from restaurant below the apartment can be heard with windows open but we enjoyed it. Very little noise when windows closed. The area is touristy but not overly busy, very peaceful/safe city (and country) overall.

No elevator which was fine for us but could be a problem for others or those with heavy suitcases. No parking given located in the pedestrian district but the front desk has info on all the nearby options. There's an underground lot about 5 minutes walk away but is expensive per day, the above ground lot around 20 minute walk away is much cheaper and was a perfectly fine option for us. No breakfast but there's tons of options all around you.

Great location. We could walk to everything we were interested in seeing. It's on the top floor (five floors up) without an elevator and with uneven steps so not for the faint of heart but the staff helped us get luggage upstairs. The walls are angled (like an attic) so can be a bit of a head-bumping issue. Beautiful views and great foods nearby.

The area is a walking area only so you have to haul your luggage from the nearest taxi area which we were unprepared for but it was fine; just wish we had known.

The location was perfect. We used public transport which was very cheap and easy. There is no parking as the area is pedestrianised. Our room looked out over the river, it was spotless. The shower was amazing, roomy with a waterfall head. Fridge and kettle in the room. TV had Netflix too. Mica was exceptional on the front desk. Went above and beyond. All staff were lovely and also helpful.

The bed was lovely but a bit too soft for me but this is personal preference. The pillows were good and the bed had dual aspect window's with a view over the river.

Fantastic location within easy walking distance of everything Ljubljana has to offer. Extremely comfortable and clean rooms. Great views. Helpful reception staff. The washing machine was great - much needed after a week walking in the mountains. Lovely spacious bathroom. Good air con.

We were very happy with everything, but the kitchen could have been better equipped - if you want to self cater (as we did - restaurants here are pricey) you can only make pretty basic stuff. A toaster and coffee machine would have been much appreciated too (if I'm being picky). The slopes in the roofs, especially in the kitchen area, were a bit of a pain for our 6'3 son (but he was happy enough to use this as an excuse not to cook😁). The 4 flights to walk upstairs was fine for us but don't underestimate it if you're not reasonably fit and mobile.

The location is fantastic and central to everthing in the old town. It's located on the riverside amongst all the restaurants, bars and cafes. The street directly behind has many lovely shops and restaurants too. It's staffed 24hrs at the front desk, as it also shares location as a hostel. The Kollman Apartments are separated from the hostel while sharing the same building, and the rooms are extremely private with views over the river. Ours had a lovely balcony, but the weather turned bad, and we weren't able to utilize it during our stay. The thick stone walls and double windowed + double glazing block out all noise, making the unit extremely peaceful. The rain shower was great in the bathroom, too. The apartment was a comfortable size and warm. It was excellent value. The bed is very firm, which I didn't mind at all. We had one load of laundry to do, and this was all taken care of for €10 including drying in a dryer within 3 hours. The most reasonable parking location was a five minute walk away in a parking lot in Revolutionary Square, and we paid €24 for a day and a half. The apartments are in the old town pedestrian zone. The front desk staff were extremely helpful when my wife tripped over her suitcase and badly bruised her arm. They raced next door to the adjacent restaurant and obtained a bag of ice for us. They were extremely helpful in every way possible.

Only a small matter of pillows. There were two sets of pillows on the bed, and neither were overly comfortable. One was very soft and the other too firm and high to rest your head on. We just made the soft pillows work for the three nights.

Apartment was centrally located to all the restaurants and shops. Some nice views across the city from the main bedroom / living room area. Apartment had everything you will need from a dishwasher, kitchen facilities and separate bathroom and toilet. Worth noting the block did not have a lift so being on the top floor is good exercise - howver we knew this before booking. Reception ladies and gents were all very friendly and very helpful.
