The kettle in the room sorely missed Breakfast was very small consisted of few beans, two eggs and one tiny sausage Was upgraded as refurbishment work was going on in my room but was putting in the basement and was very noisy at night There was a door in the bathroom which led to the basement steps outside, which wouldn’t lock

Great position to visit London and to go back to the airport since it's near to Victoria Station and Victoria Coach Station. Free vending machine for coffee, tea or just water. Wifi in al the areas.

Incredibly central, close to Victoria underground. Free breakfast, limited but free. No bed bugs, I always check before unpacking

This is an old building which needs an overhaul. I was on the ground floor this time and the bed and mattress are getting to end of life. The carpets are super quality but really old. There are stains on the ceiling from a historical leak. No curtains, just nets. Not an issue at this time of year but height of summer it would be. Can't open one wardrobe door because of the television. I sat thinking how much to bring the room up. I reckon £500 and it would be amazing

Loved the hotel itself - they've revamped the rooms since I stayed a few years ago and it feels a lot more modern inside. Perfect location, great price if you're not fussy. Staff are helpful, and a 24/7 reception is always nice

Bathroom was always cold - seemed like there was a draft from the bathroom window when I felt it but no big issue :) One of the sconces (wall light) above the single bed was missing a lightbulb though

The room was just renovated, and the bathroom was clen. Staff is very friendly, free breakfast even if booking saying not including. Reception open 24h. Most important close to every attraction. WiFi

The dining room when we ate breakfast was too small for so many people but not a big deal ... just need to wait. When you walk, first impression is not nice as the corridor and reception need some cosmetic upgrades.

Very nice neighborhood, a 7min walk to Victoria Station, with lots of pubs, cafés and restaurants nearby. It was a comfy stay, we were given a family room, on the ground floor, at the back. It was spacious, warm, clean and quite quiet, despite facing the street. Staff at the reception desk were generally nice. We had no breakfast there so no thoughts on that. Great value for money.

The only occasional strange noise was what we thought came from either the heating, drain pipes or something. At first it sounded kind of scary but thank goodness, it didn't last long. No big deal after all.

Our room was upgraded into a bigger one, and it's room was clean with proper facilities. The staffs (Lady and young man) were so nice and helpful. They tried to comfy us by answering all questions we had, as well to let us sit down around 30 minutes in lobby while waiting our mobile phone charged after check out. There was a free luggage left after checking out. Also, important thing was that this hotel provided us breakfast for free (not mentioned in the price you booked), such as eggs (you can request boiled or fried one), bread, milk, tea, coffee, box juice, jam, beans etc. It's more than enough to energize yourself before exploring London. Location of the hotel is about 8 minutes walking distance to the Victoria Coach Station. It's about 25 minutes walking distance to Buckingham Palace. Another great one, is that the hotel accepted cash payment at the hotel. I prefer to pay in cash as I had bad experience paying by card (few greedy hotels took doubly amount from my cards and it's take time to solve it).

The only one that bad was, the toilet brush was tooooooooooooooo dirty.

Location absolutely perfect. Staff so nice and helpful, very kind. Clean room, clean sheets and towels every day. Good breakfast, eggs as per your own choice. And yes, the hotel is oldish and authentic - just as expected, no problem there at all. Definitely reserving this hotel next time, as well. Thank you!

Our room was very basic, but my sister and I have been coming here since the 1980's, so it was like coming home. We knew what to expect. The staff was wonderful.

As it was a particularly hot, humid week during our stay, the lack of air conditioning was not good.

The Stanley House Hotel is within easy walking distance of Victoria train station and tube. Reception staff are very efficient and friendly and a free breakfast with adequate choice (fruit juice, cereal, eggs and beans on toast etc) is available to everyone staying. I was surprised by the comments of some reviewers on this site; I would be very happy to stay at the Stanley House Hotel again.

There were no negative aspects to my stay.
