Everything! Great location, design, amazing staff and service from reception to concierge to restaurant to room service to housekeeping to laundry! Everyone was so lovely, polite, helpful and professional. Great pool area too and lovely spa I’m gutted to miss. Lots of great restaurants and food options plus a great bar. Breakfast was fantastic! A really wide and tasty range. Also the restaurants do themed nights on various days and I was fortunate enough to catch the African Night and I couldn’t recommend it enough! There was loads of great food, a great atmosphere (packed with locals) and a brilliant live band. It was a bargain too. In fact, I thought the whole stay was great value for money. Loved it! Great atmosphere too! I’ll be back.

Very small thing but the pool needs some more umbrellas to provide shade. I was lucky to get one but a few people didn’t stay long because they couldn’t find shelter from the burning sun.

It's not my first time at Serena, but the other times I couldn't use any of the amenities. This time I used the Gym, the sauna and enjoyed the overall atmosphere of this hotel, and the feeling is great. The rooms are not new, so shower and wc could be improved. But the room is huge, the service is excellent, like it is expected in a 5 starts. Small courtesy like preparing your room for the night, plenty of complementary water, very nice view to the garden and sea. The gym is excellent. Small details like having a smart TV that connects to our phone are also a plus. And they were very friendly to allow me a late check out considering I was taking a late flight, so it allow me to take a nice shower before leaving. The hotel is general is not a new style hotel, but you can feel the tradition and a mix of Arabic and África. There's a lot of people coming from outside to use the restaurant and that gives some extra life to the hotel. The other times I was not so impressed, this time I loved it. Thank you to all staff.

I would just say the wc in the rooms could have some improvement, but it's a big hotel, not easy. The rest is so positive that it compensate

Nice hotel in Arab style. Good location. Nice bar in the hotel. Well-equipped rooms. Exceptionally client-friendly staff 24-7 ready to assist.

One of the restaurants in the hotel is AWFUL (not that where the breakfast, the other). I ordered meat and it was cooked very bad, I can't eat it at all, even can't chew... They changed the meal, but the second one was also not tasty. So, my deepest recommendation is to go to the restaurant where there is breakfast, or to the bar.

Check in staff very amiable, efficient and courteous - highly professional. Including the security checks at the gate, lobby and then front desk. Large, beautifully stately hotel. Decor in rooms a bit dated but also classically solid. In-room robes, fruit platter, and slippers - all complimentary for our room. Serena has its own special charm and this Dar es Salaam didn't fail. Centrally located in the corp / banking district with many good restaurants in walking distance and very safe. So, it's better as a family short stay or business hotel given its location. Overall, still a quality establishment I'd return to.

In-room beverages could be better stocked and topped up regularly.

The bathroom and the toilet, though very clean, were not as modern/up to my expectations for a hotel of this caliber.

Fantastic place, with clean and spacious comfortable rooms. Friendly staff, always happy and available to assist. Probably one of the top hotel in the city. Amazing breakfast every day.

The location was most convenient as it was literally a short walk to where I was conducting my business. Breakfast and meals in general were superb, and the bar was on point. The rooms are spacious.

The bathrooms are so dated, especially the toilets and the bathtubs. In this day and age, to be using shower curtains was disappointing, and I hope these will be updated sooner than later.

Liked the decor as always. Also loved the piano being played live in the lobby. The building I'd a bit old having seen its days through being swissotel then being movenpick then Serena. So the lifts are old and the carpets not the freshest but it has N old world charm which I'd nice if you like such things and disappointing if you are looking fie a more modern take on contemporary luxury.

The coffee. God. Tanzania has great coffee. But the breakfast brew was a watered down rag soup.

The service in the fish restaurant was very slow and we were basically the only couple there!!

Good location. Spacious and clean rooms. Decent breakfast. Good facilities.

Staff could have been friendlier. We felt like we were bothering them when asking for information.
