The hotel has lovely character, is in a perfect location and staff were very friendly. I had a very early start the first morning and would have missed breakfast so Stephen put out a cold buffet breakfast with toaster and kettle which did the trick
I know as a solo traveller you pay a lot more per person than as part of a couple but felt the cost was excessive through booking.com. I overheard the receptionist charging a customer €25 less for the same two nights. They had booked the hotel direct. Also, parking was on the street which I could imagine in high season could get fairly impossible to find a free space

Foyles Hotel stands regally in the centre of this friendly picturesque town of Clifden. A traditional looking hotel that holds it own. The room had a excellent bed with high quality bedding. The carpet regal green and tasteful dark brown furniture worked well. Breakfast was very good and varied in a pleasant breakfast room with nice staff. Had dinner directly opposite at Guys bar in which very enjoyable. The hotel is worth in my opinion that bit extra. Connemara is a special place to be with Irish hospitality Clifden Represents this area. Anthony Browne.

As a frequent visitor to Connemara I know the area and the various hotels exceptionally well. Foyles is a cosy, traditional, family run hotel, right in the heart of the town - you can't get more central, everywhere is walkable and there is dedicated parking on site. The breakfast is superb and the restaurant food is out of this world. The staff and Stephen are super friendly and you feel like one of the family. I frequently travel with business throughout the UK staying in big brand hotels and Foyles is an absolute breathe of fresh air, you relax and enter another world as soon as you step through the door.

Breakfast was excellent and the selection of items was terrific. The host was very friendly and interactive with guests, especially at breakfast. The location was convenient to the business area of town. It was a short walk away. There was good variety of restaurants to choose from. We would stay again.
The road outside the room was busy during the day yet quiet at night. The parking area was tricky to maneuver into even in a small car. When checking in the receptionist was very indifferent was to why I was there. She was cold and on the verge of rude. Otherwise the remainder of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Great location and wonderful staff. Restaurant was excellent. Room was large and comfortable and very clean
Because the restaurant didn’t open until 830, it would be great if there was a coffee machine available somewhere for guests. There are no places in town that are open for coffee early, either, especially on Sunday. I noticed several guests, including myself, looking for coffee early

I loved every minute of it from the moment I stood into the foyer, spacious and comfortable, the receptionist was kind and helpful, the bedroom was warm, quiet and cozy with interesting furniture and details, the stairs and corridors wide and revealing of their old world antique furniture. We learned that this family hotel is almost 200 years old!! The restaurant was quaint and delightful, service was lively and friendly, food was delicious and varied, I really wanted to stay for another dessert 😁
There was some creaking of floor boards going on, but honestly that was part of the charm of the hotel.

Good dining and excellent breakfast however the music in the pub could do with a make over, now it was the same guy playing as it was when we visited 5 years ago and he still doesn't know how to set up the sound system. Perhaps a few to many Guiness during the years past, but rather entertaining seeing him chasing cables :) When visiting Foyles one have to realize that it is not just an hotel like all others, it's a way of life. I would love to come back in a few years time and se that it has not changed.

Just a lovely cozyy homely hotel exactly what I was hoping for. A really nice pub abd the restaurant food was outstanding not your typical trash hotel food . Really loved this place. Room was very big huge bed so comfy. Breakfast fantastic hot with heated plates!!! Staff so friendly. A real old school charm. Catered well for vegetarian. Great location
Bath towels were ridiculously small not actusl bath towels. Room 109 no proper covering on bathroom window could see out and had to use a towel on window. Lack of space in bathroom for toiletries. Tiniest shower head I've ever seen really had to position yourself under it for full coverage!!

Friendly reception and restaurant staff. Such good tasty meals and Irish hospitality that we chose to eat there instead of at other places close by. Room and en suite bathroom were spacious and clean. Location was excellent for us. The heritage hotel was in the shopping centre and not far from the bus stop for Galway city and other towns. Wish we could have stayed longer. A charming hotel in a charming town.
No major complaints. There was no lift to upper floor but that was not a huge issue. We had cheerful assistance with luggage.

The staff went over and above to make us feel welcome. The food - breakfast freshly cooked was delicious. Dinner was exceptional and not overpriced. Fish perfectly cooked. delicious fillet and cooked perfectly. Our friends who joined us said lamb rack was the best they have ever had. Bar was great at night.
Being picky a roller blind in the bathroom of room 109 would have made me feel a bit more comfortable using bathroom at nighttime with light on. There was really nothing I didn’t like.
