The location is very convenient, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the 2nd room I was given had a great view over the sea and the Mount.

That the front was covered in scaffolding to my surprise. The first room I was given had scaffolding in front of the window. I refused to stay in it as I had no information at time of booking that this would be the case . The receptionist kindly gave me a room at the back with a view. The room needed renovation, stained walls, carpet over use, tiles broken in bathroom. Hotel needs investment and care. I know they are working on improving. Many rooms are already renovated

The hotel is ideally located for shops, restaurants and pubs. Our room was not particularly spacious, tho it was clean and comfortable. We had an issue closing a large window at night, but once reported, was resolved very quickly. The breakfast was very good with the usual selection of cereals and yogurts prior to enjoying a cooked breakfast. The staff make a real effort to ensure their guests enjoy the experience. A delightful young lady named Angel looked after us at breakfast most mornings and then she could be found helping out in the house keeping department. On some occasions, her skills extended to operating the hotel bar. Angel clearly enjoys her role and is seen to be very supportive to the needs of the guests.

Nothing major here to report!!

The Union is a lovely place ti stay if you're in Penzance. it's both quiet and calm but also lively and sociable when you need It is so convenient for everything. The building is so interesting with its historic connections to Admiral Lord Nelson. The staff are very warm, welcoming and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. My room was large and light with a great bay with a view over the rooftops to the harbour and St Michael's Mount. The bed was so comfortable that I slept really well. Breakfasts were excellent. I can't remember when I had such perfect scrambled eggs. Truly beautiful breakfast room too. Unique. To top it all, there was a bath ( as well as a shower, of course). Happiness!

My legs aren't too brilliant and the stairs are a bit steep. Next time I would know to ask for a room on the lower floor.

The place was an absolute hoot, in the best way. We loved it. Everything from the quirky interiors, to the local and characterful staff. The hotel was seeped in history, and the room big and obliging. We had a room facing the high street and loved being so close to town, it really was a sanctuary.

However, a few things could have been better. All it needs is a little tweaking! The bathroom wasn't super nice, it needed re grouting and there were significant chips on everything. The breakfast was really well cooked in the morning, but could tell the ingredients weren't of a high quality. The bed was so small, and i'm pretty short and my feet kept bumping into the end of the bed, and the mattress didn't feel the best quality. It was hard to locate car parking, and instructions were difficult to understand, and to check in initially. There was also a Thatchers can from previous guests in the side cabinet. Either way, we still loved it and think its worth it :)

Was down for some Coast Path walking so the location was critical - 10mins from rail and bus stations. Close to other local amenities too. Breakfast superb with an early start (0730 - though some of the signage related to breakfast was confusing). Had an awesome separate function room which has historical significance. I really enjoyed my stay. Under new management I understand so well worth a punt.

Loo roll holder busted and a couple of other minor gripes - previous occupant has moved the clothes hangars to her room and this hadn't been spotted - but otherwise I was very satisfied.

A lovely place for couples to unite and spend time with, lovely views of the sea from your room. A great room, A lovely pub, a mini restaurant and great buffet options and even more polite and lovely staff make a great combo during your stay. Also solo travellers and family can stay as the rooms are spacious and and clean and gives you a vibe of the heritage keeping the structure in place.

The beautiful staircase would look long in case of heavy luggage as there are no lifts or else the place is really beautiful.

The location of the hotel is great choice. You can actually just walk around the town and shop all day and return to your hotel after shopping just by walking up the path and centre has loads of variety. The room is also cosy and very homey like it looks like a normal bedroom house a nice touch.

The hotel does do breakfast and has a nice bar for drinks. But sadly they do not do dinner. So if your looking for a hotel that can do dinner service, you might as well go look for a restaurant.

As soon as we arrived (7:30am) which was far earlier than expected the lovely lady at reception held our luggage whilst we relaxed in the lounge upstairs. Once the room was ready, I noticed that it was clean and not a hair out of place. The towels are crisp white and the bathroom was probably the cleanest I’ve seen. The breakfast was so good. The sausages here are incredible and because of dietary requirements they were more than happy to oblige. We were given recommendations on what to do by a friendly member of staff. Any requests that we had made were dealt with quickly and we felt really comfortable staying here. The location is perfect. In the centre of it all, shops, restaurants and cafes on your doorstop. If you like a quick dip in the abbey slip you’re not too far away from the hotel for a hot shower after. We’ll be back for sure.

The room was spacious and clean with plenty of storage. We had an amazing view of the sea too. The breakfast was lovely with choice of cereals and cooked breakfast and the staff were efficient and friendly. There was entertainment in the bar on the Saturday evening which was good and the bar staff were friendly. The location of the hotel is excellent for walking to the sea front and around the shops. The building was beautiful with lots of history and original features.

The building is beautiful but could do with a little updating inside. This would be very expensive though. The Wifi in the room would cut out occasionally but this wasn't a huge problem.

All staff were great. Location central for shops, pubs/restaurants, seafront/harbour. Breakfast was choice of 4 cereals, full English breakfast, toast and jams, yoghurt, fruit juices, tea/coffee. Bathroom was good - shower consistent, warm. Taps good flow of hot and cold water. Beds very soft and comfortable, with soft, white sheets, pillowcases and duvet cover. An old building full of character and history. Nice bar, good ale. We had a sea view too!

Carpets/decor needs a bit of money spent on it, (carpets a bit grubby in places), very dated furniture (though functionable). These things did not spoil our stay there at all though.
