The location of the Longboat Inn Hotel was excellent for the railway, buses and boat trips on the Scillonian 111 for day trips to the isles of Scilly also the main town shops etc. We travelled down on the Night Riviera Sleeper train from London Paddington which was excellent, so made good use of the public transport availability in the area.

For me, I was looking for a cheap place to stay. At about £115 for the night (including breakfast) I thought this place was a bargain. (Admittedly - this might be because of booking.com and the fact it was last minute, that I got a good deal)! Everything was clean, the room was a comfortable size, the pub downstairs was charming, and the staff were really helpful. Breakfast was a full English and all though nothing fancy, was delicious. I appreciated the fact that the tea and coffee were all Cornish! Why would you stay the premier inn across the road when you can stay here and support local!

There is nothing is disliked - if you’re looking for a bougie experience then this place is not it - this was a classic penzance pub stay and was perfect for the type of stay I was after!

The staff were really nice and helpful, nothing to much trouble. Room 10 was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast and evening meals were very good. My wife is Gluten Free and the staff checked the food was correct for her. The only slight downside was that the traffic was a little noisy at times. Penzance seems to have motor bikes and cars with very loud exhausts! Nothing to be done about that though. We would definitely stay there again, it was lovely.

As mentioned the traffic was a bit noisy, but it quietened down after about 2200 to 2230.

I have stayed at the Longboat eight times before, so if I have been so often, my view will likely be positive. It will be. This is an excellent choice for Penzance, this time of year and what I want to do. An excellent team in charge, very efficient, can handle any details. Pleased they run normally over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The Longboat is incredibly close to both train and bus stations. Chinese restaurants good in Penzance and Little India near the Longboat. Excursions I would recommend, the Lizard, Minack Theatre, South Coast Path near Pendeen, Falmouth.

Firstly, Ryan and his team are really great, a huge asset to the hotel: very friendly and professional. Location was close to all travel services with plenty of chargeable car parking close by. Great menu, reasonably prices especially for Golden Years customers.

The ensuite to our bedroom was very small but acceptable. The room itself needed tlc. However, I requested a room with a shower on the second floor rather than third floor because of mobility problems.

Slept well as the beds were very comfortable. Food in the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) was very good and well cooked. The location for us was excellent as it was near the long term car park and harbour (we stayed for a day prior to going to, and after returning from, the Scilly Isles. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

It's a fairly old building so, whilst it was clean and generally well decorated (if you like brown!) it showed in things like the small and slightly shabby en suites (although I believe they are working to improve these). Also, it's a bit of a warren when getting to your room, with lots of stairs and fire doors to negotiate with your luggage. Only a minor inconvenience though and to be expected in a building like the Longboat Inn.

The beds were very comfortable. We were able to check in late without any issues. The room was clean and the facilities were good. We were able to hang around to work with ease the following morning in the main area and had an enjoyable lunch. The morning staff were extremely accommodating and friendly, we didn't feel rushed out and were made to feel comfortable and welcomed.

The evening staff were less friendly, although I understand they may have been busy. We were unable to eat there so had to find an alternative up the road, which was fine as we found a very tasty pizza place! Unfortunately there was a light right outside the window which made the room very bright so needed to put blankets up to dim this to sleep.

Excellent location, super friendly staff, nice old fashioned hotel. Really enjoyed my stay here. Excellent food, so you may want to book in advance to secure a table. 3-4 minutes walk from the railways station and the bus station. Arrived and left by train, but had lots of daytrips by bus. Public transport is amazingly good, both frequent, easy and affordable. With a day pass you can use all the different bus companies. Happy ti recommend and to stay here again.

There are stairs to the rooms, so could be an obstacle for some.

The location, right by the train and bus station. The staff were delightful, so accommodating, they kept my luggage before check in and after checking out, I ordered food to take to my room. The food is good and plentiful, I had a cheeseboard that ticked all the boxes. The beds were comfy , the room clean and warm. I'd definitely stay again.

There was nothing I didn't like

Comfortable room of good size for a solo traveller, all clean and nice. Great location just 2 minutes from train and bus stations. What I really like the most was the friendly and helpful staff! Took care of my suitcase before and after my stay, and went the extra mile with their service. You can watch movies for free upon request in their movies room. Good food as well. Totally recommend! This made my holidays even way better :D
