Tregenna Castle in St Ives is exceptional, the staff are outstanding, and Russell on reception is truly the jewel in the crown. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel incredibly welcome, going above and beyond to ensure I was completely satisfied with my stay. His genuine care and attention to detail really made the experience special, and I can’t thank him enough. A special mention also goes to Martin, the bar manager, whose friendly and attentive service added an extra layer of warmth to my stay. With its stunning setting, fantastic staff, and impeccable service, Tregenna Castle offers a truly unforgettable experience. Book with confidence!

There is nothing to dislike.

Completely forgot to write a review about this place! The place was absolutely beautiful! Especially around the castle. So close to the beach too and a short train ride away from CARBIS bay or you could walk it if you want. Staff was extremely friendly and going between 16-21st of December even though it was cold, it was so peaceful and quiet around that time. Loved the pool I could use too for free as a resident and only had to rent a towel for £1, I had it to myself although can be quite scary by yourself with the dim lighting but it was very warm and well kept and clean. I will definitely be back again. It’s also not that expensive for public use too. The staff also provide a map of the place to help navigate through the area as well which is very useful!

The mattresses were quite hard to sleep on so if you have back problems like myself and my partner than you should take that into consideration. Also, I’m a massive walker and hiker (myself and my partner did the circular St Ives to Zennor walk the ENTIRE way) and there are a lot of steep hills around the area including the short cut so brace yourself for that ‘cause even I was struggling a little 😅

Hotel setting above St Ives was beautiful! Room was reasonable ( seaview was £40 a night extra,) nice comfy bed, good sized TV, bathroom ok, staff friendly and welcoming. Facilities good, walks around the estate beautiful, swimming pool lovely and other sports facilities looked good although we didn't use them. Walk down to town about 20/25 minutes, down the hill but ok even for our old legs!!

Room was far too hot even with window open, shower riser rail broken in bathroom and after the first night there seemed to be a weird smell in the room. Contacted reception, site team attended, repaired shower rail but did not know what the smell was and also said there was no way of regulating the heat as it was centralised. Offered a move and ended up in a seaview room with seating area and double window aspect, absolutely beautiful! Made the stay and was totally unexpected! Excellent customer service, will definitely return there again!

Breakfast was a buffet ! Delicious, warm environment, beautiful sea view from the windows. Room was enough space for me and my husband, the toilet was clean. No airconditioned but the window is perfect to open for some fresh air and you can see the sea view of St. Ives beach. They have beautiful garden and the grounds is huge, a huge golf course as well and some courts for tennis, two swimming pool outdoor and one indoor pool. They also have a castle beauty if you want some spa. They have lovely lounge area and also a restaurant and a bar. Overall, It was a lovely place to stay in Cornwall and just a walk to the beach. Not to worry of your car because they have a parking lot.

The hotel is surrounded by beautiful grounds with an excellent view surrounding it,the hotel itself was very well decorated and clean . The are 2 restaurants on site they where both very welcoming and the staff where very friendly, the food was excellent in the evening, the lemon possset was amazing. The hotel was very quiet .

The rooms didn’t have any blankets on the bottom of the bed,it would have nice to have one.The breakfast I felt wasn’t worth the money the choice was limited, there wasn’t any hash browns or bagels(for example) there wasn’t a lot fruit put out and my main issue was that for £18.00 I would expect tea and coffee offered when u get there and bought to the table rather than make your own.

The view of gardens from my courtyard room was peaceful and relaxing. The view from the breakfast room out over the gardens to the sea was lovely. The breakfast was plentiful and good value. I didn't eat in the restaurant other than this, but would on another occasion. The woodland walk into town was convenient and enjoyable despite the climb, and even at night I felt safe using that on my own.

The indoor swimming pool was really the only aspect of Treganna Castle that I found somewhat disappointing. It didn't really meet my expectations or experiences of pools at similar-standard hotels. I felt it was quite rundown and it was a shame there were no loungers at the side of the pool. I really enjoyed using the outdoor pool though and wish I could have had more time for that.

Beautiful classic resort. All the staff were friendly. Beaches were just 15mins away from the resort which made it easier for us to explore everything in a day. Room was clean and tidy. We also had dinner at Godrevy view restaurant at the hotel and the food was delicious. The restaurant staff were friendly and pleasant. Would love to visit there again in the future during summer 😍

Unfortunately, I found that essential items such as hand wash and proper body wash were missing as these are basic necessities expected during a stay. Furthermore, the central heating was not that effective.

Booked a superior room with a sea view for partner’s birthday. The view was stunning. Hotel is situated at the top of St Ives and the sea view rooms are worth the extra money. Superior rooms have a seating area with settee, 2 chairs and coffee table. Rooms have high ceilings, very comfy bed, the check in was quick and excellent service. Hotel grounds are very well kept, and it takes 15 minutes to walk down through the gardens to St Ives.

We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel as we were meeting a friend for lunch, but thought it was expensive at £18 per person. Probably a lot cheaper to go into St Ives to eat and there is a Wetherspoons for a cheap breakfast. The walk back up to the hotel is all uphill. We like walking but If you don’t want to you can get a taxi for £6.

The building and location were excellent. Situated on the hill looking down over the beautiful seaside town and harbour of St Ives.

The evening meals in the restaurant were overpriced and poorly cooked. As a chef of 40+ years with extensive experience in three stared Michellin restaurants, when I ordered the confit of duck and I receive braised duck that has been overcooked, believe me I will know and be unimpressed. (And I was). The majority of the floor staff were dour and left us feeling we were interpreting their evening. The Young waitress with braces on her teeth was however cheerful, informative and excellent in the execution of her duties. The breakfast buffet was excellent and good value. Beds and pillows 4/10

The castle, grounds and resort is overwhelming as you approach up the long drive. Fabulous grand place with lots of outbuildings, gardens and various mixed accommodation options on site. There were lots of sport facilities on site, tennis, pools, golf etc. and a shortcut walk through a woodland path down to the town, takes about 10 minutes. Plenty of free parking in various areas and allocated spaces for each individual apartments and villas. We were in the main building which was also very grand and tastefully decorated. Fabulous public areas and lovely bar with terrace overlooking the views of the bay. Our room was huge ! Dual aspect, three large windows, high ceilings and big comfy superking bed. Very nice snuggly duvet (not too hot for a change ! ) I even made note of it's make as it was so comfy. Room was well equipped with iron and board too, a sofa bed and desk/dressing table area. A small entrance hall/lobby between the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was huge too. I would definitely love to stay here again but for longer and enjoy the facilities it offers. We had no time to use the pools, spa, restaurants etc.

Only negatives I would say was the bathroom was dated and disappointing compared to the rest of the accommodation and hotel. With the size of it, the bathroom is crying out to be a bit more of a wow factor, it could accommodate a lovely roll top bath feature plus separate modern shower, double sinks too even. It definitely needs updating, though was adequate for our needs. Also the room didn't have a full length mirror and again plenty of wall space to put one.
