Great hotel on the rocks and great views. Great location to walk to the beaches and around St Ives. The hotel itself is quite outdated - but I understand that they are planning a major renovation soon. My room was lovely and spacious and had lovely views of the sea. The bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast options were good. The fruit in the cold selection would run out quite quickly (but I did turn up around 9.30am - so perhaps earlier customers had better selection). The day menu is ok - there are better places to have lighter meals. The staff are all really helpful and friendly. I emailed a couple of times before my stay to check on parking etc, and they were very responsive.

Cleanliness - the place was quite dusty in areas.

Wonderful view from my room of rocks, sea and St Ives harbour. I had a single but it was cosy and quite big enough for me. Good to be able to adjust the temperature on the radiator. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Very pleasant bar/lounge area and dining room overlooking the beach and it didn't feel awkward to be eating on my own. Generous breakfasts and I must mention a superb risotto for dinner. Just a flight of stone steps down from St Ives station (very small) and a short walk to the hotel. On the quieter side of the harbour but just a few minutes' walk into the centre of the town.

Location, friendliness of staff and very good breakfast

Hotel was a little tired looking but we heard it is due to close soon for a refurb. Also being charged £15 a day to secure parking in a car park which only cost £6.30 per day so spent £17.40 more than we needed to. This may be good value in high season to be able to book a space but not in January. We should have been advised that there may be spaces available in low season, turns out there were lots of spaces available.

Me and my wife travelled down from Kent after works upon arrival in the early hours of the morning we was welcomed in with a smooth transition we was also offered a drink at the bar even though it was closed so we took a seat had a drink and kick started our short break, the staff and the level of service is the best we have come across and I don't say this lightly I believed this level of service, didn't exist any more great work great staff great service excellent location stunning views.

The view from the room as well as the restaurant is amazing! I could look at it all day. The room was clean and the decor looked new, a comfortable bed—a very nice bathroom and shower. Great facilities, more than the basic. A delicious breakfast and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is in a beautiful location right on the beach. Highly recommended.

Leaving the hotel.

The views are stunning and the room was well serviced. The breakfast was excellent, a great buffet and very varied hot food menu. Excellent location with easy parking. The staff were wonderful, they even brought the parking permit up to me in the car park.

I booked a single room, however the bed was tiny and a bit uncomfortable. The hotel provided a parking permit for £10 however on checkout I realised that if I’d paid for parking myself it would have only cost £6! Probably worth booking in high season to ensure a parking space but plenty of spaces when I was there.

I have walked past this hotel many times over the years and it’s also a big feature from the Porthminster beach but I have never ventured in or booked a room. I’m so glad that I stayed on this occasion. My room was far bigger than I expected and the view over the harbour was outstanding. The bed and bed linen were amazing and I had the best nights sleep. There was a wide range at breakfast and the full English breakfast that I ordered was lovely. I also booked for lunch from the festive menu and this was also amazing. I wished that I could have stayed longer and will definitely return again. All staff were friendly and efficient. Highly recommended

Nothing. Everything was outstanding

It was all good, like almost perfect for me. I had an amazing experience, my room view and the location is perfect. Easy access to the harbour to find restaurants and very near to the train station. The weather was bad but because my room has a dashing sea view, we can just stay longer in our room. The sea wave sounds made me sleep better as well. The staff, what can I say, they are all very good, very friendly and accommodating. We had free breakfast too

My mum & I had the best 4 nights at Pedn Olva! The location is absolutely perfect, the hotel has the most amazing views from all angles and is well positioned between the town and all the beaches so you'll never have to walk too far. The pool and sunlounger area is great - there is also a lovely terrace with plenty of space - we felt like we were abroad! Our bed was one of the comfiest I've ever slept in and the breakfasts we had every morning were delicious. We would definitely return!!

My only improvements would be the room size - the room & bathroom was super cosy which was okay for us but at times a bit cramped with our suitcases in there too. Also the buffet breakfast was delicious but ran out quite early everyday. Very minor points though and we would definitely recommend and stay again!

Location and views are unbeatable, staff are always very friendly and helpful, and the bar area is very comfortable and relaxed. Our favourite hotel in St. Ives.

Evening food menu is a bit more limited in terms of choice versus previous stays (we would have eaten there instead of going into town) and the quality of the cooked breakfast wasn’t great this time around (poached eggs were rock hard and toast was burnt).
